Wife and I stayed at Parmer's for a week, in the Dolphin room.
Clean room, and simple. Was worried about comments about decor, but actually the decor was lovely - (well-shot) photos of the property on the walls. Simple decor, but the whole place is simple, and that's the point - no flash, just laid-back. Room was an efficiency, and so had a stove, fridge, silverware, etc., all very clean. Bed was firm, which we like, but could have used extra pillows. Really comfortable rocker/glider in the room, too. Bathroom was clean, showerhead was a little low, but considering both my wife and I are at 6 feet, we're always running into that problem, ha!
Daily continental breakfast was good, better than most. Free wifi is in the room and around it (outside), but on some nights was wonky. Expanding the wifi range would be SUCH a bonus to this place, but I don't know how expensive that would be.
Pool was lovely, with a nice 6 foot "deep" end - many hotels now are getting rid of their "deep ends", probably for insurance reasons, I like that Parmer's still has theirs.
The biggest draws?
One - the cute, 50's / 60's beach-bungalow feel of the place. Don Draper would be right at home vacationing here. You just don't see this anymore, and considering we're a half-century since the aesthetic, I feel like this is a conscious move - keep going with it, love the vibe.
But mostly? The waterfront! Man, the orange hammock between the trees right on the water? Divine! The sun rising over the water every morning, man I'll never forget it.
Good dock space, too, for boaters. We didn't use it, but a lot of boaters did, so if you're on a boat looking for a room, motor on over to Parmer's!
