Parotte Ville in Sint Maarten is honestly one of my favourite spots on the island. It opens daily at 9:30am, and if you go on a day with few cruise ships, it’s quiet and never too busy — perfect if you actually want to enjoy the birds instead of crowds.
The staff is incredibly friendly and genuinely knowledgeable. You can tell they care about the animals and love sharing info about all the different species. And there are a lot — hundreds of birds, all kinds of colours and personalities.
You get to feed them, interact with them, and just hang out while they fly around you. The grounds are spotless and really well cared for, which makes the whole place feel peaceful and inviting.
I visit twice a year whenever I’m in SXM, and it’s consistently a great experience. Highly recommend it if you want something fun, relaxing, and unique to do on the island.
