"Playland in the Sky It was raining when we arrived in Donostia-San Sebastian, but the skies cleared on our second day, and we rode the funicular railway up Mount Igueldo to take in the view back on the city, La Concha Bay, and the empty beach. The "low" travel season had just begun, and the strange little children's amusement park on the mountaintop had shuttered up for the fall and winter, adding just the right disorienting touch of weird desolation to the Basque country panorama."

Google
Old fashioned amusement park with fabulous views over San Sebastián. Accessible via a short ride on the funicular. Rainy day so not very busy but a couple of kiosks serving drinks and snacks.

This is always a favorite when visiting San Sebastián! I love the old school feel and that the kids can run around while parents can sit at one of the cafes. The rides are well maintained for being so old and the views are UNBEATABLE!! take the trek up to the top of the castle, it’s worth the hike!

Google
Such nice views of San Sebastián! Easily accessible by public transport or car. We did go by public transport and didn’t regret it. Great option for both adults and children!

Google
A place with a great panorama. Many attractions for kids. If travelling as a couple, you can enjoy half an hour watching the great view and having a 2 mins "boat tour" at a very small artificial channel.

Such a cool place for fun! We went up the tower — it has crazy 360° views of the city and around. Entry is €4 for adults. There are also some water rides and a haunted house. We didn’t try everything ‘coz we came close to sunset, but for sure we’ll come back :) p.s. While walking around, I saw some weird teens (like 3 of them), they weren’t looking at the views, but more at people… so just keep an eye on your stuff, don’t lose focus 🤨 At the entrance, they charge €2.5 per person in the car. There are a few big parking spots inside.

We went during the week in May. The attractions were closed but there's 2 cafés and the views were beautiful. We caught the bus and a small uphill walk and had to pay €2.50 each to walk inside (I was surprisedas had assumed this fee was to park a car)!. If you catch the funicular it's simply the cost of the funicular.

This place is beautiful and perfect for a family , the attractions are simple but very nice since the landscape make up for it

Google
A very cool amusement park on top of the hill with a few very riveting rides. There is a roller coaster and a river ride. It is great for the whole family. The view up here is beautiful as well.

Yelp
Came here on a weekday in the fall because we wanted to ride the funicular while in town. As we expected, all of the rides were closed, but to our surprise they still had some food and drink options open! We enjoyed walking around the mountaintop and taking in all the spectacular views of San Sebastian and the coast. We also enjoyed getting some spritzes at the bar and sipping on them with the ultimate view. Without the rides it's not a place you'll spend too much time, but still worth the visit for the views and a ride on the historic funicular. Would love to come back and go on some rides in the future.

Yelp
Inexpensive and can't-miss tourist attraction! The funicular takes you to the top quickly, and the view at the top is incredible. Plus, if you want a glass of wine while you wait for the amazing sunset, it's super inexpensive. Yes, pleaseeee!

Yelp
When you are in San Sebastián, this is a must see location! We went today while visiting the area, and loved our experience. We enjoyed our ride up the mountain. The views will leave you drooling as your jaw drop at the beautiful sights. Be sure to bring your camera and a jacket! (It gets windy at the top from the ocean, and it has perfect views for photos.) There is also a hotel at the top where you can get cafe con leche and relax on couches before heading back down. They accept cards and cash at this location.

Yelp
Beautiful view at the top!! Take the funikular to the top and walk around. Be sure to bring your camera. If you have little kids, the amusement park at the top will be fun, but doesn't necessarily cater to adults.

Yelp
This is a side of San Sebastian people don't talk about. If you're staying in the hotel nearby or you're under the age of 6 this might be for you. Pony rides, water rides, a carousel, and some other kitschy things. I dig the "Casa del Terror" and the totally baked hallucinating mushroom people.

Yelp
Midway up the steep east side of Monte Igueldo, we waved to the descending funicular car in appreciation of their gravitational potential energy hoisting us up the mountain. Funicular physics aside, we made the three minute inclined journey to check-out the mountaintop amusement park and admire the panoramic views. Built in 1912, the funicular on Monte Igueldo is the third oldest cable railway in Spain. The round-trip ticket cost €3.10 and included entrance to the amusement park. According to our young-adult daughters, the amusement park was childish and antiquated, but the final plummet on the roller coaster was a worthy thrill. After a few rides and a bag of popcorn, they were ready to have a look at the view. From our lofty vantage point, the golden sands of La Concha Beach outlined the semi-circular La Conch Bay like the rim of a scallop shell. Shimmering in the distance, the iridescent San Sebastian earned its nickname as "The Pearl of the Cantabrian Sea". With the coastal views etched in our camera's memory cards, we boarded the funicular for our return to sea level. Midway down the mountain, we waved to the ascending funicular car; this time for their counterbalance keeping us from a free-fall into the station below.

Yelp
Unlike some of the other San Sebastian attractions, you don't stumble upon the Funicular unless you go looking for it. I highly recommend that you do go looking for it! For three euros, you can ride the Funicular (actually an English word that means something like "crazy trolley") to beautiful views. The ride is not long at all but the views are so worth it. I took tons of photos at the top and enjoyed checking out the mini amusement park (with incredible views from the kiddy rides!). I also bought a diet Coke at the top and paid about 0.25 euros to use the restroom. If I'm back in San Sebastian, I'll ride it again!

Yelp
The Funfair at the top of Monte Igueldo is unbelievably cheesy and overpriced. Even so, taking the funicular to the top was one of my favorite things we did in Basque Country. The style of the funicular building and the carnival itself are wonderful examples of Belle Epoque design, if you look past the grime. And the views! Holy moly...the views! It's worth your money just to ride up there and take it all in. Absolutely stunning.

Yelp
A very so-so experience on the quiet side of San Sebastian. Close to our hotel and primed for anyone UNDER the age of 5. There are some good views here, but the rides and such are pretty infantile and mundane. The Casa Del Terror was like walking blindly in the dark with people jumping out at you. The water ride was equivalent to a bathtub with a few waves. The Swiss Mountain roller coaster ride was probably the best of the bunch and the saving grace for all the money we spent up there hoping to find an enjoyable time for us and the 8 year old. Happy Travelling!

Yelp
This is one of the most beautiful settings for an amusement park I've ever been to. Apart from the great views and a fun walk up to the top of the tower, the park also has the world's only roller coaster made of stone, which was really incredible.

Yelp
A cheap fun amusement park! The kitchy old rides are great. Maybe short and sweet but still fun experiences. Where else can you peer down over a cliff to amazing rugged coastline IN A DUCKY BUMPER BOAT?

Yelp
This is where you have the classic view of the bay of San Sebastian. Generally there is a funicular that takes you up to the top, except on Wednesdays as we discovered. It is a little bit of a hike to get up to the top and some family is charging you to go up to the amusement park/hotel that caps the peak. We were there at the end of December, so everything was closed. Great view that is worth the detour.

Yelp
Best view of San Sebastián. To get here, you need to take the funicular de Igeldo from Ondaretta Beach (there are signs for the funicular from Eduardo Chillida Pasealekua). The funicular is 2 euros and includes admission to the parque de atracciones. If you choose to walk up, you still have to take the funicular down, so you might as well take it up to the top of Igeldo.
