Great, very affordable camping. It doesn't have a website as belongs to municipality. Everything is clean inside. There is no comune kitchen. It's cheap to rent a big tent, which includes table, chairs, cushions & sleeping bags. There is cafe with good choice of food. Even for a vegan they came with a good option. Mini Supermarket is also on the territory of the camping & works till late.

Worst mosquitos and biting bugs I have ever experienced. No toilet paper or soap. The beach is amazing but the camp site is not worth it at all. Very dirty and run down.

We had a wonderful weekend with our kids camping. We took our own tent to use and the prices were reasonable. We ate at the coffee shop within the camp grounds and we were pleasantly surprised at the quality. The prices were reasonable, considering that we were on an island. ||The ladies at reception were extremely nice and helpful especially Maria and Isabel. Easy and quick access to the beaches, the campgrounds were well kept and clean and we loved the fact that the bathrooms, showers, and sinks were kept tidy and clean. ||There were mosquitoes but we took repellent and all was well. Overall a great weekend!

Camping Tavira is not like any camping we`ve done before, but that was expected when we rented a pre-setup tent with sleeping kits. First of all, I want to mention the staff there are absolutely the best. Never had friendlier and more helpful staff than here. The tent I rented was spacious enough for myself, wife and 4 yr old daughter so that`s great too. No hauling our tent gear over, hassle of setting it up and backing it back down and hauling it back. Just arrive, throw our stuff in the tent, and off to the beach.||||I do have some complaints though with things that could be improved.||||1) The bathrooms have no toilet seats in either the womens washroom or the mens. This meant my year old daughter had to sit on the toilet without a seat to do her business. Gross. Seriously, who doesn`t have toilet seats??||||2) We had to use copious amounts of spray (deet) to deal with the mosquitoes. Even then we got bit a couple times but others were complaining a LOT about how bad the mosquito problem was. ||||3) They put us right beside the restaurant area which has significant noise from people walking by (and drunks) and live(ish) music on Saturday night making it hard for young ones to sleep. They should try and put those with kids away from all the noise.||||That said, we would definitely go back and I can recommend it to others.

The experience was already very unpleasant because of the mosquitoes, but the unqualified and rude staff was able to make it worst. We payed for hot water but it was never hot. The supermarket is closed 80% of the time and a mosquito repellent costs you 10 euros! (Effective for only 30min on your skin). When explaining these problems and many others to staff the answer was "This is an old camping, those issues are not our fault". ||||Note: If you decide to camp here, pay only for one night first and then decide if you want to stay or not before paying the rest, otherwise, if you pay in advance they won't give you the money back.

Located on what I see as paradise on earth just makes up for a few niggles. Ok we had the Glamping option, so we paid a bit more but well worth it IMHO. OK outside toilets my not be up to everyone's cup of tea (BUT IT IS CAMPING HELLO) and yes there are no toilet seats, But they are kept clean. The staff can not be more helpful if they tried. I had a problem getting off the island early as the ferries do not start until 8am and I had an early flight to catch and Maria on reception spent ages on the phone arranging everything for me FOR FREE. I can,t wait to go again for sure,.

Campsite basically in the dunes, so sand ground, various zones, reasonably shaded with eucalyptus and needle trees ,sanitary blocks are clean but plaged with mosquitos,it's beyond me why the campsite isn't fumigated,if you're sensitive for mosquito bites you should avoid this place.warm water showers are 1 Euro but bring 2,sometimes nothing happens or simply no warm water. There are washing machines 4€, there's a small supermarket but very basic, and there is no possibility to freeze your cooling elements. There is also a bar with basic fastfood, think pizza, pasta burgers and fries. Also there is a opportunity to have your devices charged at reception for 1,50 so bring a solar charger...the best thing is you're sleeping with sounds of the wave's, that is if the youths don't have a party in the dunes till 5 AM....
