We had an amazing time at the national park! The park was clean, safe, and beautifully maintained, with well-marked pathways that made exploring easy. We saw so many animals, birds, and butterflies—exactly what we had hoped for. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. To top it all off, we ended the day playing in the ocean before hiking back, making it a perfect adventure. Highly recommend!

We did the hike without a guide and saw tons of amazing wildlife! The first kilometre of the hike is busy, once you get to the first river crossing it gets less busy. (We did the hike at around 10am). The beaches are stunning and the rainforest is very lush. Definitely recommend this park!

A wonderful park! We started at the parking for puerto Vargas, and then walked 6 kilometers in around 3 hours and turned around to walk the same way back in around 1 hour. It’s awesome. We didn’t use a guide and saw quite some animals. But I’m pretty sure you’ll see much more with a guide. Note that you are not allowed to bring any plastics, so if you want to take food with you, it cannot be wrapped in plastic.

Go go go! Free park with so many animals to see. A clean trail follows the beach. At any moments, you can swim. Nice Shade. Beautiful nature. Wonderful expérience ! A lot of groups. Maybe, go early or later to avoid them. No need of a guide.

Beautiful spot to visit if in Limon, Costa Rica! It’s a bit of a drive but we were able to get a private van round trip for about $100 (with a party of 4 adults and 2 kids) with a guide as well. It’s a flat trail to walk on: we had a stroller and were able to manage pretty well, even with the sandy parts and roots. You walk next to the beach and the jungle, and with a guide they help to spot the animals in the wood, plus they talk with other guides who might have seen animals ahead or behind them. We saw some raccoons, monkeys, snakes, and butterflies. It was a lovely way to spend the day.

Excellent walk from the Cahuita entrance. The trail was great and mostly dry with many accesses to the beach. We were fortunate to see many animals on our walk, some in very close proximity. We did not hire a guide.

Probably the most diverse national park you can visit and it's also based on voluntary spending. We have seen a lot of different animals around, breathtaking views and it wasn't that crowded at all. If you're in the area a must visit.

Very beautiful national park next to the Cahuita town. Easy access and entry level terrain. Suitable for kids. Beautiful beaches and loads of animals. The park is easily navigated but I highly recommend to get a guide if you want to see more animals and find about the different flora and fauna. We saw monkeys, sloths, green poison dart frogs, a caiman, coti, iguanas and turtles. We booked a half day guided trek from Willie's Tours (Cahuita town) and it was totally worth it.
