This place is beautiful and has very good amenities. They even have a path for wheelchair visitors. If you get a chance to let Fernando guide you, you should! His English is decent, and he talks with passion about the fauna, flora and legends in the region. I enjoyed his explanation very much. The park itseld is very easy to visit. Not a real challenge but nice.

Calling this a National Park overstates it quite a bit. It's a nice day trip if you planned too many days in Castro. The best trail is the one to the beach. The others are pretty redundant.

Heard about this park through a friend and was told it was a must visit on Chiloe! Park didn’t disappoint! It’s a simple cheap bus ride from downtown Castro that takes around 1.5 hours from the municipal bus terminal off San Martin. You get dropped off right outside the main gates, and after paying a simple entrance fee of $2000 per head (if you can convince the guy you are Chilean) you gain access to loads of beautiful trails, exhibits, a small museum and the visitor center. The trails are all well maintained and beautiful with lots of information about the local flora and fauna. Truly a must visit if you want to learn about the history and biology of Chiloe. From the park you can access a lake, a beach and many lookouts that provide nice views of the surrounding country. You can also catch an additional bus to the Muelle de las almas (dock of the souls). The entrance fee is $1500 per head and after a ~50 min hike, you find a beautifully crafted dock on a scenic and breathtaking bluff above the ocean. The hike is nice, but honestly, the dock isn’t worth the trip as you will likely encounter a long line to take photos on it, if you want to. The surrounding views are much more worth it.

Nice park, easy trail with very nicely laid walking paths and not very muddy even after a nice rainfall. Wasn’t very busy in March. The beach areas are inaccessible during certain times and you can’t get there without crossing a waterway with no bridge. So expect to get wet if attempting to cross. Other than that, it’s a beautiful area and nice walk.

Camping with a summer tent is not the best choice in the National Park of Chiloe. Not surprisingly, the literature warns that visitors will be at the mercy of the Pacific storms, so expect a lot of rain.

This is the "ranger station" for the park. There are great trails here though the forest and down to the beach. Lots of interesting information. This is the place to start if you want to explore the park. All but series hikers will find all they need here, and serious hikers can use this as a starting point or source of information.

Nice national park with a variety of different ans separated small hikes that can be done. Take good shoes with you, especially after rain, it is very muddy. The two large hikes each takes approx. 90min and have information panels about plants, animals and mythology of the park along side the way (some even in english). Park entry is 5000 CPL per person (foreign)
