After a 1h 20' ride from Isla Mujeres through fairly choppy waters you arrive in paradise AKA Isla Contoy. A small but stunning island 🏝 thriving with nature, words can't do it justice. Not even the pictures attached but hope this will encourage you to visit. You'll remember it for the rest of your life if you do.

Absolutely stunning! The most beautiful beach you still find this side of the Atlantic! Clear water and a beautiful tour! There's a reason it's a national park and it is protected!

So happy we took an excursion here! It was the most beautiful beach I have seen. Crystal clear waters, soft silky sand and lots of beautiful wildlife both on shore and in the waters. There is a small museum with information about the island and its inhabitants. I could have spent my whole vacation here!

One of the most beautiful beaches I have been. Water is super clear and not deep, so swimming is easy. Lots of iguanas, crabs, birds and since this is a natural reserve Make sure to take care of Flora and fauna. No sun lotion allowed. Need to book a ferry to get there.

Underwhelmed. The little tour was nice but I expected to see more wildlife. We went on the tour organised by Tui (you went to both Isla Mujeres then Isla Contoy). On Contoy we saw 2 big starfish, some smaller white fish in the shallows, a tonne of hermit crabs, 2 pelicans, many frigate birds and 1 sea eagle. Bit of a let down for a wildlife sanctuary.

Very important ecologically National Park. Visitors only have access to 3% of the island to prevent contamination. The walks take in three different eco systems, lagoon, dunes and mangroves. There is a beach where you are allowed to swim.

Very Beautiful Protected Island! Be sure to take a large boat tour because it is a long boat ride to this island. Only a set amount of visitors allowed each day and only with a registered visit. Lovely shore/ beach area where we saw a small skate and a few fish. The east side of the island has great snorkeling in good weather. The island is protected because it is an important nesting area for birds and migrating whale sharks. Besides birds the island has crocodile, iguanas and huge dry land hermit crabs. Tour groups offer a fabulous all you can eat - smoky grilled fish or chicken lunch with rice, pico de gallo and salad. There is a new open air museum showing history, flora, fauna and animals of the area. Also a tower you can climb to see the entire island, a birds eye view! The lagoon has thousands of nesting frigate sea birds during January and February. Worth the trip, very informative.

It's a lovely Real Caribbean island goo with BlueCaribe as they don't have any photographers bothering you to take pictures and then to pay for pictures as Ocean Tours company does.
