Parrilla del Boulevard

Waiter was really nice and polite. Food was okay. Nothing special honestly, especially not for the price. Restaurant wasn't even that nice looking. Would not come back. Only went there because they were open on a Sunday and we were hungry and in the area.

Enjoyed a very tasty parilla for 2 here last night. Great music and ambience, staff were very friendly and helpful (chose us a beautifully smooth Malbec) and meat was very flavoursome. Not quite 5* but a very solid meal.

Parilla for One was excellent! I came at open and was seated immediately. I was quickly attended to. Bread and butter was brought to the table not long after. My food was ready after 15 minutes so I know everything was cooked to order. The vacio was a bit tough and the morcilla lacked texture, but overall the food was great.

It's a nice enough restaurant that serves pretty good food at more or less typical prices. I don't have any complaints but at the same time there's no wow factor. The walking tour guide recommended it.

Great Argentine grilled meat. They have hot plates for 2 or 3 people which had a good variety of meats and accurate proportion for each person. The meat was grilled excellently. They have a wide selection of wines to accompany your meal. They also have kids plates. The service and attention was great. We showed up early, before 8:30 pm, so the restaurant was empty but they still served us. The meat was cooked up and ready in less than 30 minutes. I would definitely recommend this to my friends. Cost would be around 15 usd per person.

Passing through this town on a motorbike journey south east to Uruguay, I looked up the Lonely Planet advice on the ‘best’ local flavour parrilla. I also looked at some contrary reviews but ended up here anyway. Not sure what ‘local flavour’ means but if it is a sticky table-top diner with a surfeit of brown and artwork by Tacky-Motels-R-Us then it scores high. Friendly waiter though despite insisting wine only came in red or white flavours, or a weird combination only ‘big city’ residents were aware of. I accepted his recommendation of the assorted parrillada, with a salad bar on the side. Beware, a salad bar in Argentina contains more meat than a pregnant Victoria Beckham. What looked like artichoke turned out to be tripe. The meat was incredibly tough, mostly inedible. Should have followed the reviews and not LP.

One of the steaks we ordered tasted extremely stale. I think the meat was old and not safe to eat. This is the last thing I expected from a reputable parilla, but I guess selling last week's meat for 400 pesos helps pay the bills. One star for the salad buffet, which was fresh and abundant.

I waited an hour for my food to arrive. The steak was dry and bland. No flavor whatsoever. pasta tasted frozen, the service was somewhat OK and the place looks dated.

Thanks to the Lonely Planet recommendation, we went here for our last dinner in Cordoba and it was a huge disappointment. If you're considering this place because of LP's blurb, PLEASE spend a few dollars more and go to a friendlier place that actually appreciates your business! We arrived at around 9:30 on a Friday night, which, as usual, meant we were one of the very first groups. We'd seen the sign outside advertising a parrillada for two "of 14 cuts" for AR$149, which seemed like a great value, so we went for that. Our server didn't ask how we wanted our meat, and I realized why when it came out far too soon: the meat was pre-cooked and had been sitting on the grill getting tough and overcooked. Everything came out all at once on a wooden plate, which meant it got cold quickly before we could eat it. Of the meat itself, most of it was tiny portions of offal like liver and kidney - only one was steak. Hardly the generous portions we've gotten with other parrilladas. So, you get what you pay for... except friendly service. Now, I get it, we were off the main tourist corridor and into more of a locals' place, and yes, our Spanish is pretty bad. But hey, we were speaking Spanish as well as we could and trying! We caught our server pointing us out to another server and laughing at us. He didn't bother to check on our table during the meal. When he brought the check, he hovered over the table waiting for us to pay (unheard of in Argentina, where servers never rush you). My boyfriend handed him an amount that was slightly more than the bill, intending to leave a tip on the table separately, but when the server saw the amount, he gave us a sarcastic thumbs-up, apparently thinking we wouldn't realize that's a rude gesture in Argentina. Yeah, we got it. Classy. It's a shame that this was our final meal in Cordoba, because otherwise the restaurants and people have been great and very friendly. I guess they thought they could fob us off with stingy portions of overcooked meat and rude service because we wouldn't be back. Well, we definitely won't be coming back, that's for sure! Maybe this place is better if you're a local, but if you're a visitor, please, PLEASE go somewhere else for the real parrilla experience.
