Parrot Cove Lodge

As I spend my last evening here, I am reflecting on the exceptional experience that Parrot Cove provided me. Everything is just perfect; the great location, serene environment, and absolutely amazing. Not to even mention Chef Rob's exquisite meals! I feel lucky to have experienced Parrot Cove and look forward to returning soon. Thank you for having me!

Parrot Cove Lodge was first stop on our 10 day Belize adventure. Absolutely awesome! Beautiful penthouse suite with 180 views of beach, ocean, etc. Super clean, modern interiors with ample space for our family of 3 adults. Huge deck to watch ocean, sunbathe, read, whatever. Comfortable beds, great linens, kitchenette in room with coffee & mini fridge... everything we needed. Yummy breakfast included, paddleboards & kayaks onsite for guest use, and SUPER friendly & helpful staff -- special thanks to Emilyne (office) and Tish (restaurant.) Chef Rob's restaurant is terrific & many other restaurant options within walking distance. 45 min away from Jaguar Reserve with terrific hiking, waterfalls & self-guided tubing (do it -- I was skeptical & it was highlight of our day!) Absolutely the best start to our trip!!!

We had a great time staying at Parrot Cove. I traveled with my husband, my mom and kids (16 and 10). We booked the whole vacation through the hotel (transfers, excursions, several meals and golf cart rentals). We had an oceanfront junior suite and an oceanfront deluxe room. The rooms were not new, but clean and very adequate. They both had private balconies with beautiful ocean views. Breakfast was something to look forward to every day. It usually consisted of eggs, sausage, fresh tropical fruit, and a rotating carb (banana French toast was to die for). We mentioned to Tish that we wanted to try Belizean fry jacks and she made them for us the next morning!! That was the best breakfast of our trip! The hotel packed breakfast for us on the mornings we left early for excursions. The dinners were also really great! We purchased the four course dinner for all of the days we were in excursions. The menu had quite a bit of variety and our group really enjoyed the chicken Parmesan and the hot stone dinners. Also, the bread with hummus was amazing! Mike and Tish were very accommodating to our special requests and we felt like family after the first night! We did the Xunantunich/cave tubing, snorkeling, monkey river and waterfall ATV tours. Emmalyn did a great job of scheduling our trip and even added in golf cart rentals and a last minute Christmas Eve tour. All of the tours were quite enjoyable but especially the snorkeling (clear water and lots of variety in marine life on the reef) and the waterfall ATV tours. They even let my son drive his own ATV which was one of the highlights of his 10 years on this planet! All of the tours left from the parking lot or dock in front of the hotel, making the process very low stress! The location of Hopkins made access to other areas of the country relatively easy. Tish was the absolute best and we learned so much about Belizean daily life from Tish and Mike! Don’t hesitate, book it, you will have an amazing time!

Edit: We did end up recieving a partial refund. This hotel booked us on a tour and screwed up the time. They arranged for our driver to pick us up before the tour ended. I called during the tour to try and rearrange the driver pick up time, but no one ever answered. They refused to offer any compensation for their mistake. Awful service. The hotel is not soundproof and is run down. The lounge chairs are old and on their last leg. The beach has many palm trees so there is never sun on the beach. The beach also has a lot of trash by the water. Other hotels in the area had a very nice beach area compared to this one. The breakfast only offers one option. We had local kids coming up to the patio asking for money and snacks. This is not a 3 star hotel, it's a motel. The beds were comfortable though.

Excellent hotel in Hopkins. Definitely the place to stay as this beach is much cleaner than other parts. Has a nice restaurant that is quite good as well. Room, ambience and amenities are all great. Would stay here if I ever return to Hopkins.

The staff? Absolutely incredible — friendly, helpful, and full of local tips that made our trip even better. Special shout out to Yoli, Leticia and Micah, they were dedicated to making sure our stay was PERFECT! They were polite, caring, attentive, engaging, and absolutely delightful!||Whether you’re looking to relax by the water, explore nearby jungles and waterfalls, or dive into local culture, Parrot Cove is the perfect home base. Loved the bikes, made getting around town easy! ||Highly recommend — we’re already dreaming of coming back! 🇧🇿💙

Absolutely loved our stay at Parrot Cove. Our beachfront rooms were spotless and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Ricco, the resident African Gray parrot kept us entertained during our stay. We had an incredible experience at this boutique resort and can highly recommend them. It was a pleasure meeting Chef Rob and experiencing his chef's dinner on Friday which is made up of an incredible 7-course meal prepared by Chef Rob as we sat around the table watching him cook our dinner. He even took our tuna catch from our fishing trip and used it as one of his appetizers. I can honestly say this dinner was probably one of the best we have had. We had the perfect amount of adventure and relaxation!

Parrot Cove Lodge may be smaller in size, but it’s big on charm and hospitality. The rooms are beautifully maintained—clean, cozy, and surprisingly spacious—with comfort that makes it easy to unwind. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Their friendliness and attention to detail added a personal touch to the entire stay. The property features a refreshing pool, a peaceful stretch of beach, and a lovely little pier that’s perfect for morning coffee or sunset views. It’s the kind of place that feels intimate but never lacking—quiet enough to relax, yet full of character and warmth. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a laid-back, unforgettable Belize experience.
