The 12 Best Hotels in Key West

"Recently refreshed, Parrot Key is yet another historic Keys property that's back and better than ever. The verdant grounds have four pools; the resort's rooms, suites, and villas, meanwhile, all have views of the gardens or the Gulf of Mexico. Even the entry-level rooms span 375 square feet and receive loads of light, which accents the neutral gray and tan decor. Little touches, like L'Occitane amenities, upgrade the experience. This resort is beautifully renovated and reasonably priced, and the four pools ensure you're never fighting for a lounge chair." - Paul Rubio, Nancy DePalma

Parrot Key Hotel & Villas

"Give us an overview here.Recently refreshed, Parrot Key is a historic Keys property that's back and better than ever. The verdant grounds have four pools; the resort's rooms, suites, and villas, meanwhile, all have views of the gardens or the Gulf of Mexico. Tell us all about the accommodations. Any tips on what to book?None of the 148 rooms feels like the "B" team—they all have great views. Even the entry-level rooms span 375 square feet and receive loads of light, which accents the neutral gray and tan decor. Little touches, like L'Occitane amenities, upgrade the experience. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?The Wi-Fi is included as part of the daily resort fee. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?The casual Grove Kitchen & Bar serves wraps, pizza, and burgers, as well as a full bar menu. It's good in a pinch, but most guests will want to venture off the grounds to other Key West restaurants. What type of travelers will you find here?Families, sure, although the overall vibe skews toward couples. What about the neighborhood? What else is around here?Parrot Key, located next to a rather unbecoming Walgreens and Home Depot parking lot, is a few miles away from Key West's Historic Old Town. There's not a lot in the immediate area. Any other hotel features worth noting? The four pools ensure you're never fighting for a lounge chair. The $42 resort fee includes access for four to Smathers Beach Club, along with complimentary shuttle service. Bottom line: Why are we choosing Parrot Key?This resort is beautifully renovated and reasonably priced." - Laura Ratliff

Parrot Key is great if you have lots of money to spend and don't care about value. To summarize my review: book a fancy king guestroom with a water view or don't book at all. My partner and I were mistakenly assigned a one bedroom unit with two queen beds at first, rather than the one king bed that we booked. This gave us the chance to see the basic furnishings and groddy bathroom (that others have noted in their reviews) up close. Later in our stay, we heard other guests complaining about cleanliness as well. I could not imagine paying over $300 a night (including all fees) in the off-season for this room. The front desk very kindly reassigned our room and actually upgraded us to the 2 king room referenced above. The cleanliness and quality of this unit was top notch-- I felt like I was at a different resort, and we had a great stay. My second caution to readers is that the resort fee is high (~$57/day) and we got nothing out of it, other than: a small shuttle that runs infrequently, a beach that you can't swim in (gross water), and comp drinks by the pool that you can only claim with a voucher from the front desk (not mentioned until checkout). The food and drinks served by the hotel bar/restaurant were great, as was the service, but more expensive than some of the nicer restaurants in town. To end this review on a positive note, Steve the Concierge was the only employee we interacted with that seemed to enjoy his job. He was a pleasure to talk to and he set us up with an in-house golf cart rental which was one of the highlights of our trip. Thanks Steve!

My family and I contemplated on staying here and staying at other resorts, it took us a week to decide and I am so happy we stood here. The entire vacation was amazing. The pools were never packed and we got to enjoy them each day. The hammocks were so relaxing and watching the sunset perfectly from our patio. The sand accommodated our kids to play in. The drinks at the bar with Renae were amazing! The Room was so spacious and smelled good. The bathroom was clean and the shower pressure and water was perfect. Overall our stay was the best! we will definitely stay here again.

Google
They are so friendly, there's a grocery store across the way, free shuttle service downtown and to the beach. Free champagne upon arrival. 4 small pools, but usually one is fairly empty. Wait staff come to you, food is delicious. We stayed with our two teens. We each had our own space. It was peaceful and perfect!

We had a really enjoyable stay at Parrot Key Hotel & Villas. The resort is lush and beautifully landscaped, offering a peaceful escape with four relaxing pools that make it easy to unwind. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating—we were even upgraded to a king suite after speaking with them, which was much appreciated since most rooms are two queens.||The rooms are spacious and clean, with a private patio and luxurious L’Occitane bathroom products. The on-site bar is great, and while the location is a bit off the main tourist spots, it’s very manageable if you have a car—everything in Key West is just 10 minutes away.||Note that while the hotel is not directly on a beach, it is waterfront, and the views are still lovely. A couple of small downsides: the $50+ resort fee feels unnecessary, and the $13 valet-only parking can feel a bit steep.||Overall, though, the friendly service, relaxing pools, and spacious accommodations made it a very pleasant and memorable stay.

We booked a summer promo rate and stayed at Parrot Key Hotel & Villas for four nights in mid-July with our family. The two-bedroom suite was spacious, with a king bed in the master, a queen in the second bedroom, and a living room area—perfect for us to spread out. The air conditioning worked flawlessly throughout the entire space, providing relief from the July heat. |Check-in was quick and easy, though they placed a $400+ hold on our credit card without much explanation. There was no welcome drink offered upon check-in, and it did not appear that they even provided one, despite it being mentioned on their website.|Our room was clean and smelled fresh, though the carpets could have used a deeper clean—walking barefoot left our feet black. Truthfully, we’d packed cleaning supplies after reading some iffy reviews, but thankfully didn’t need them. |The balcony off the master bedroom was peaceful, and we enjoyed listening to the resident roosters in the mornings. One thing to note: the suite is accessed via a steep flight of stairs to the main living area, and then another set of stairs leads up to the queen bedroom. It’s not ideal for anyone with mobility issues, and while they don’t offer assistance with luggage, they do have carts available. Housekeeping is by request only (before 10 AM), but we didn’t bother. The kitchenette, equipped with a mini fridge, sink, and microwave, was handy, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong. Valet parking is required, though we often ended up retrieving our own car when the valet was busy. |The location is about a 10-minute drive to Duval Street, so we Ubered into town, but the nearby Walgreens was convenient for snacks and water. |We enjoyed lounging around the Adult pool because the music was much quieter and the crowd was calmer than at some of the other pools. |The staff works diligently to maintain the grounds' cleanliness. We were up early, and there was always staff cleaning the pools, pressure washing the sidewalks, and refilling the towels.|We enjoyed two delicious lunches at Grove Kitchen and Bar during our pool days at Parrot Key Hotel. The setup couldn't have been more convenient - great tables right next to the lounge chairs allowed us to eat poolside without missing a minute of relaxation. While they were experiencing WiFi issues (meaning we had to order at the bar instead of scanning the usual QR code), the food and tropical cocktails made every trip worthwhile.|Overall, it was a comfortable stay with a few quirks—great for families who don’t mind stairs and want extra space.

We had the rooms with ocean view and don’t regret it. Beautiful sunsets every evening. 4 small pools at the resort, but they are hot water. The resort is clean and beautiful, but no beach. Smathers beach on the other side of Key West is an option. Refrigerator in the rooms, but they need to be changed. Breakfast was more expensive than expected and too little food. Our children wanted something else, so we had breakfast on the balcony instead. Gym was only one bike, one crosstrainer and one running pad. All in all satisfied.

Had a really great stay at Parrot Key and probably wouldn't stay anywhere else next time I come to Key West. I found it to be better than the more expensive hotels on the docks. I stayed at the Hyatt last time which was also nice but not as peaceful and serene as PK. Between the 4 pools you never feel like you have to rush to find a pool chair like other resorts. There's always space available and the pool is never too crowded. The room on check in was perfectly clean and the products in the bathroom were better than the standard. I would highly recommend the beach front 1st floor rooms. Some improvement recommendations would be more "resort amenities" for the 50+$ resort fee like pool games, activities, ice pops etc. Also the pool chairs could use a power wash. The shuttle was great and the included chairs at Smathers were definitely worth taking advantage of. I wish there was a later than 4:30 last departure for Duval St which left us ubering alot. Ubers were anywhere from 11-14$ which was reasonable. My biggest complaint though is the lack of housekeeping. They only come when you request it and at that they will clean your room sometime before 6pm which seems insane for the price of the hotel. On days we didn't want to rush to Duval for breakfast we walked across the highway to Grain & berry for smoothie bowls. Overally, I had a great stay and would definitely return.

The hotel was excellent and centrally located to everything on the island. Staff were helpful and friendly. The pools and restaurant were great and have a boutique feel. The concierge was amazing to help us find something fun for everyone! We would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
My friends and I took the Key West Express from Fort Myers Beach to Key West for a short get away. We rented a golf cart and booked our stay at the Parrot Key Hotel and Villas. We were able to get an early check in and we headed straight to the hotel after lunch. Upon arrival we were met by the valets who pointed us toward check in and took care of the golf cart for us. The reception person and the concierge were both friendly and helpful and check in was a breeze. We stayed in a waterfront villa. The walk through the hotel grounds was peaceful and beautiful and the villa was well appointed and clean. We had dinner at the hotel that night and the drinks and the food were great, breakfast the next day was just as enjoyable. Great service and great food. We stayed a little later in the morning the next day so we could enjoy the hotel grounds before heading out for the day. We thoroughly enjoyed the pools and the surrounding gardens. It was a perfect get away spot to escape the noise and craziness that can be Key West. My only complaint is that they only had decaf coffee pods for the Keurig. I called down for caffeinated coffee and they brought me a bag of pods ... all decaf. Not a huge problem, but if you are like me and like a cup of coffee first thing in the morning, check your pods the night before. All in all this was a wonderful stay. In a world where customer service has gone to the wayside, this resort turns it up and makes sure that you feel taken care of. Highly reccomend.

Yelp
The Parrot Key hotel was very nice and in a great location . However, housekeeping was poor. We had to request that the room be cleaned numerous times. They didn't replace the towels or the coffee pods and did not vacuum or sweep until we complained to the front desk. The restaurant is nice and the pool areas were very clean. Other than the housekeeping issue, we had a great vacation! The concierge was very helpful as well.

Yelp
Visited Key West recently, did a lot of online research to find a nice place. We weren't really feeling to stay directly in the heart of the action at or near Duval St. Check-in is a little later in the day around 4pm, we got into town early so we decided to have a late lunch then check-in later. When you Google map it, look for The Home Depot, entrance is next to the Walgreens then you veer off to the left onto the hotel property. Nice looking property as you pull into the main driveway, valet parking is the only option. FYI: They charge you per night so be sure to not go nuts when you see extra charges to your room invoice. Check-in process was friendly, easy and will give you info on the property, amenities, and offer you a cold tropical drink. There's a concierge next to the front desk, very friendly and helpful in making sure you get the info you need to do any excursions, shuttle schedules, entertainment, and restaurants. Be sure to look online for the room types and options, we wanted the water view but they only come in 2 Queen beds, or if you want a King for you and your sweetie, you will have to upgrade to the next level type. Just look on the website. Our room was water view, ground floor, clean room as we entered, Key West decor, obviously. Room opened up to the back right onto the sand and water. The room was fine with us, no complaints. It's a bit dated, has some marks, scuffs, and some other things that could use a bit of updating. Back patio area could use a power wash, it's not a big deal for us. Our room comes with 2 housekeeping visits a day, morning refreshing and evening turn-down service. Nice comfy bed, pillows were pretty low, AC was cold, overhead fan in the room, wifi worked fine, bathroom was fine, closet had good enough room for 2 people, TV worked fine with decent channels, plenty of plugs to charge up, fridge to keep stuff cold, has a Keurig in the room(we went to Publix across the street and bought some K-cups as we like to have more than 1 cup in the morning). Nice Sunset Pier to look out, multiple pools to enjoy yourself, towels are available, hammocks to take a nap, plenty of beach chairs outside your room to catch some rays. Quiet at night and peaceful sleep for us. If you plan on taking the shuttle to downtown, Duval, Southernmost Point etc, be sure to register with the concierge so they know the head count. There are multiple shuttle times, the latest to come back to the hotel is around 4:45pm, so be sure to figure that out if you stay later, you will need to arrange your own transportation then. The only activity the hotel provides is jet ski, gym has free cold bottled waters if you need to take a few for your room. There's a bunch of other things I'm forgetting but overall, we enjoyed our stay here, staff was friendly on greetings and helpful in what you needed. Shuttle driver Richard is the best, funny guy, very helpful! Pricey nightly rates so be sure to scrape that loose change under the couch. Would recommend this hotel/villa to anyone wanting to stay off the Duval St area.

Yelp
DONT be fooled by the beautiful property, which I have to say is AMAZING, the exterior is beautiful - however, the rooms are terrible. Old, dirty, stinky carpet. The worst mattress I've ever laid on. My husband, parents and myself left our stay there very achy due to such poor quality mattress. This place has potential, but needs a major upgrade to the actual rooms. I would not not recommend

Yelp
I'm unhappy with myself that I haven't reviewed this incredible resort. I say resort because it has everything a resort has. This is a fantastic location to stay while in key west. It's only a short drive to Duval but a nice enough distance away from the "downtown" life. I recommend renting scooters and you can ask the front desk for help with that. We arranged ours before the trip began but loved that they offered to drop off and pickup. There's just something about riding through KW with the air breezing along your sunkissed skin after a Duval night out. We tend to spend half our trip to KW near Duval then half at Parrot Key. I'll never NOT stay at Parrot Key. From the welcome drinks to the beautiful room and spectacular views I couldn't ask for anything more. They offer 3 pools (might be 4 but it's been a few months since I've been) that gradually get more quiet the further you move through the paths. I like this because when we wanted some quiet time we spent our time at the last pool but enjoyed cocktails and light music at the entry pool on occasion. We wanted a villa facing the ocean and WOW! Can't stress enough how perfect. We had our own private backyard with a few feline guests that were just so sweet. It felt like we had our own apartment. Even though you're away from Duval, there are tons of food options nearby. Every member of the staff was helpful and made sure we had the best stay. Don't pass up on Key!

Yelp
Wonderful staff at check in, room was ready as we arrived, pools and hotel layout is great and the grove food service was quick and good, only down side is rooms are a little lack luster but would absolutely come again

Yelp
Message to owners of parrot key!!! I would highly recommend removing the required valet parking fee of $18 and forcing people to use an unnecessary valet service. Why would anyone use valet service at this hotel when the parking spots are right there in front of each hotel room door? It makes no sense whatsoever. If you want to continue to charge for it, I would highly recommend just adding it into the resort fees and charges. It just feels like as a guest, we are being nickeled and dimes for a service that is truly not needed at your establishment. I do want to mention that the hotel itself is a fine place and the staff is very friendly and courteous. They have done nothing wrong to earn the low review.

Yelp
I wasn't able to make it due to certain circumstances and also due to hurricane Helene I was looking forward to this trip had even requested days off work for this trip but I was not able to make it. I had called and tried to get a refund hoping they would be understanding for things I couldn't control especially because of a hurricane when I called they said they did not get hit but I was affected by the storm.. I tried explaining my situation but it's like they did not want to hear it the way they spoke to me they did not care. I have been to this hotel before couple years back with family member and I loved it reason why I booked to stay there but never again they are so uncaring and heartless for how they treated me with the situation. I lost money to this hotel I didn't even make it there I didn't even get to enjoy my vacation time that I rarely get to have due to my job.. instead of finding a way to help me or find a solution they just did not care. Hopefully no one else has to go through this with Parrot Key Hotel.

Yelp
After having access to a vacation home for well over a decade, I know my way around the restaurants, the bars, the places that tourists congregate and the places the locals go to have their own piece of hidden heaven... but the one thing I didn't experience is where to stay when you don't have a home here.... I've been back a few times over the past three years and though I liked the hotels we've chosen, but with COVID so out of control, this time we wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street and the over-crowded bars and restaurants... we wanted to be away from the touristy hot-spots and just relax riding bikes around town, getting take out and visiting some of our old nature places to walk swim and hangout. At first we were stuck with places along North Roosevelt (some on South Roosevelt) but these were just a tad below what we wanted; then we looked a couple places that are very nice in Stock Island; which is ironic because feels like the hotels here are out-classing the island (love Stock Island but it ain't upscale). Finally a deal came along for The PARROT KEY HOTEL AND VILLAS... Never heard of it but when I looked it up on a map I remembered the place being right by the grocery stores and Home Depot... think the place may have even been a Marriot at one time... On paper, the PARROT looked good... but in person... They exceeded ALL expectations. We knew they required valet parking due to having very limited parking but we chose to pay but with COVID we parked ourselves and they were fine with this. The parking fees on in line with the prices other charge (closer to the lower/cheaper end). The Hotel's arrival (checkin/lobby) appears to be more of a Keys style Conch Home (wooden deck/verandah, attention to detail, overgrown/tropical landscapes); the remainder of the property is numerous buildings with similar decor/style keeping with the feel of homes/villas and not a hotel. Even the worst rooms (entering from the parking lot) have the back of the room/villas overlooking one of the many pools and tons of lush landscaping. Some buildings have the back side to a canal but the lower floor can't see water due to the mangroves. We chose to stay in a ocean view room on the ground floor so we can access the chaise lounges and hammocks in the sand back yard... BUT our only negative of the stay was "Ocean View" (just like the canal view) cannot be seen from the ground floor due to the mangroves and technically, it's the Gulf of Mexico, not the Atlantic Ocean.... nonetheless we loved it all the same and would stay in this same room in a heartbeat. I also love that the Parrot offers 2 and 3 bedroom villas rather than the traditional hotel room. We look forward to returning with the family and stay in one of these rooms. The pools were amazing... I believe there was a total of 4 pools and each one nicer and more tropical than the next. Was impressed we weren't forced to leave one pool and walk all the way to the one pool with a bar; they had electric request buttons at many of the lounge chairs and tables (hit door bell looking device and a waiter/waitress shows up in a few minutes). They also took safety precautions for COVID... the rooms were very clean and disinfected (I trust they were), they do not provide any daily room cleaning or making the beds due to COVID which I would've turned away anyhow, they locked the ice machines to keep guests out but deliver you ice to your room upon request. And, everyone, from the maids to maintenance to the valets and front desk clerks... made us feel welcome.

Seabre C.

Yelp
We were required to pay for valet parking even though we parked our own car. We went to check out in the morning and were told we were being charged the $30 for valet parking even though when we checked in yesterday the valet attendant said to park our own car. We never once used valet while staying here but still had to pay the fee. There is also a $50 resort fee added to the overall cost.

Yelp
Great hotel, super beautiful, clean, and spacious! Definitely on the pricy side so budget accordingly, but we wanted a nice girls trip so we went for it. For two people the two queen room was great and we still had plenty of room. When we had 4 people we upgraded to the two bedroom suite which was AMAZING. Two separate bedrooms and bathrooms (the upstairs one was a little bit warmer), a cozy living room space with a sink and mini fridge, and two balconies. The resort area was nice. We could find seats by any of the three small pools which was great with both shaded and non-shaded areas. There is a hammock and lounging area for more sun. Valet parking was annoying, but we went in and out all the time and they were always very quick. The Grove restaurant had some great cocktails, loved the frozen drinks!

Yelp
A lush, tropical property with beautiful labeled vegetation. Rooms were clean, and staff very friendly. This is our second time to the Parrot Key and we've enjoyed both experiences. There was a slight mishap at the beginning of our stay, and Jason, the assistant general manager, went above and beyond in rectifying the situation. While it's a couple miles from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street, it's an easy ride getting there and this property is so tranquil it takes you to another place.

Yelp
Just spent the Thanksgiving Holiday here, a total of 5 days, and 4 nights. We'd rented the room through Expedia and had chosen a King with ocean view. A day or two before we arrived, I got a text from the resort saying "upgrade" and I tried, but it said there were no upgrades available. When I checked in, the room I had was a 2 room suite, I had a King bed and a 2nd room, A queen, with a living room as well. 2 balconies, one that had a resort view and one with a water view, that was great for sun rises and sunsets. The landscaping is gorgeous and tropical, with lots of palm trees and other native foliage around. The pools are lovely as well, the adult quiet pool was lovely as well. The "beach" is not a Swimming beach, but rather a lounging or sun bathing beach, as the fence that goes around it, prevents access to the water, and mangroves that ring the property. They do offer lifts over to Smather's Beach which is the swimming beach. You can also rent bikes and go on jet skis here too! We had a lovely stay. One of the only things we noticed as a draw back is that the grounds are not always maintained well. Guests often leave trash around, and the staff does not pick it up. On the walk way to the sidewalk, on Roosevelt street, on every day I walked it, the same refuse was laying in the same spot. The only internal cleaning I see being lax is that one of the vents in our unit was in dire need of being cleaned.

Yelp
More of a 4.5 but will round up. The restaurant wasn't too busy and they made an entire mahi for us that we just caught - was free but paid for some sides and drinks. Waitstaff here was awesome. Rooms are nice - we had an entire unit for the six of us and it was clean and spacious. Outdoor area is shared and no beach but nice outside.

Yelp
This place was amazing!!! I've seen the hotel a thousand times over the years but we always preferred to stay by the south end of Simonton (usually The Reach) or right in the heart of all the action (such as La Concha), but with covid we didn't have much interest in spending time around Duval or Mallory or anywhere too busy so we booked the Parrot after reading good reviews and very fair prices. We arrived and were greeted right away by the Valet; we paid the fee each day but chose to park our car ourselves. The Valet and the Check In staff were all very nice. After we checked in, we walked the grounds. My husband and I were so excited and knew we made a good choice. Tons of landscaping and four different pools to choose from. The place was very clean and when we checked out our room we were just as impressed; room was awesome. Black Friday is coming soon, if you're planning a trip to Key West you should def check our The Parrot if any deals are available.

Yelp
Not only is this hotel absolutely amazing, but Ashley made our stay incredible! She was kind, attentive, and went out of her way to make sure my mom and I were taken care of and had a memorable stay. She answered any questions I had and helped me when I had trouble initially registering for a room. She is a treasure and deserves the utmost praise if a raise is not able to be given. Love her so much! We will be back in the future for sure.

Yelp
After poor housekeeping and rude valet parkers, and deciding to leave one day early without refund, the General Manager refunded us half the rate for the last night. However considering the fact that valet parkers were beyond rude by not providing a handicap parking space as required by law and threatening us by saying we will call the police, I think we should have been refunded an entire night stay. Sorry still one star on my review.

Yelp
I came here a while ago with my parents and my children and I never got round to writing a review. So with the covid and more time at home, I am catching up. This place is really nice. They have a few pools to choose from (three from memory). I loved that, there was a min pool with an eating area - where most people hung out. In addition to this there were two more pools - that were more private, smaller and more intimate. To be noted they had electronic chairs to help disabled people in and out of the water - which I always like to see. All the outdoor areas are really pretty, with plenty of shade, nice Floridian plants and vegetation. They also have cute, rustic old doors dotted around as part of the outdoor decor - which I loved, DO SEE MY PICTURES. I had a snack with my mum sat outside in the eating area too, which was very nice and pleasant. A bit pricey but good all the same. The accommodation was also pleasant enough. that Towards the back of the property they have a sand area and views out to the water way. I believe Photographs speak more than a thousand words, so please have a look at mine.

Yelp
We stayed one night and really enjoyed the location and the property. The rooms were clean. There was so much pretty tropical vegetation on the property too. They do have parking available if you have a car. We booked on booking.com and got a pretty good deal during Fantasy Fest. The pool area was really great too. There was a cute little fishing pier you could walk out on as well. We also at breakfast the next morning. They had some good bloody Mary's

Yelp
So imagine this. Paying $700 a night for bad service, bad attitudes and above all no room cleaning. We are working on 3 day old towels. No new sheets. No cleaning At all. So I call , tell them my dilemma.. no remorse. "Sir we only give service when u call." Huh ??? COVID? Nobody has a mask, I watched bartenders serve food never washing hands. Everyone working here thinks they are privileged. Unreal. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice property , but run like a motel 8. Twice they ran out of towels for all 4 pools. Notify and employee. "No speaka English. Ok fine charge fir a 2 star hotel. I plan to tell Amex to cancel payment and file a complaint with local BBB. Awful experience. Too add to that their food is awful. Wings the size of my pinkie. Pizza like it was frozen. Conch fritters in all fairness where awesome. Choose another place. Make this staff accountable for the embarrassment this place is. Also, when checked in there where four peanut mms wrappers in couches, beds. Gross. Then there is this :

Yelp
Stayed at Parrot Key for a friend's bachelorette party, we had a 3 bedroom villa and slept 8 women comfortably, probably even had room for a couple people. I got to sleep upstairs in the room we dubbed the tower and it was a hike to go up and down those stairs. Otherwise, the rooms were nicely sized for 2 people to stay, the bathrooms were great too, however, our bathroom didn't have a working outlet. Overall, though, I enjoyed our stay at parrot key- they had multiple pools, transportation to the beach and to Duval street, and the staff were all really nice. Check them out!

Yelp
BED BUGS. Stay away!!!!! They comped the room so I guess it's a stay if you think it's worth it, I sure don't!!!!!!! The staff was apologetic and tried to help by washing all our clothes, they dried everything

Yelp
Service is far from excellent, and bellow average. It was evident the moment we checked in. Front desk slow, concierge service promised make phone calls to book dinners, never follow up. And to end the trip... we left in the room some clothing, I called the following day told them about it and ask to please mail them to a family member. They said they will call me back. THAT WAS FOUR MONTHS AGO. Two months ago the DIREECTOR of Housekeeping sent us this email... Still waiting. Soo they lost my items, or someone took them and no response whatsoever. I do not understand how a place with this lack of care is still in business. I certainly DO NOT suggest anyone to go there, I for sure am never going back

Yelp
I feel like I'm suffocating in this room. I'm in Villa 1. Right next to the valet parking lot/entrance. There's 2 windows- but I have to keep the curtains closed, otherwise there's no privacy. The walls are bare white, only one framed piece. I would never pay to stay here. Luckily my company does. The noise from the pool is loud. The locks I'm not even sure if they work. Pros: mini fridge and microwave

Yelp
So, first impression-- the hotel is beautiful! The rooms are spacious and it's overall cozy. I am starting my review at a solid two because of the bartender, Oktay. He was the second employee I had encountered and he was so impolite. We walked up to the bar and I ordered my Key Lime Colada and handed him my card not knowing our part was going to pay together. When I tried to correct him and get my card back, he said "why would you give me your card then?" Then my friend ordered a red sangria and after snarling, he said "I don't like making those they are too much." Why would a bartender not enjoy making a drink. Terrible first experience.

Yelp
Room is spacious, wasn't ready when we arrived though. Staff is unfriendly, cleaning seems to be done on demand at all strange times of the day. We asked for a a trash to be removed, it was done at 6 pm? Floor was wiped with a terrible smelling solution, and my guess is not very clean supplies. A/c was blasting when it was pretty cool outside until we asked to turn it off. There is no control of a/c in the room. Restaurant is ok, but I wouldn't recommend eating there - overpriced for an okay food. I would not consider coming back to this place.

Yelp
My family had been looking forward to our jet ski adventure and once there, all the excitement was withering away. We parked 2 6-seater golf carts on the property and was met by a polite gentleman that said he has to charge us $10 ea. I said I've paid over $150 parking the last 2 days, I'm not doing it. So, we parked at the Walgreens next door. Once we arrived at the sign-in hut for the jet ski's, we had to all fill out paperwork. No big deal - expected. All of our kids, ages 22 to 33 had to complete a boaters course. Again, not a big deal, but they had to pay $14 ea additional. Once we all took 30+ mins to complete necessary paperwork, I was informed that because I had a group of over 6 that I had to pay a gratuity of 20%. Total gratuity was $256! What? I have no problems giving a gratuity and I do so generously, when deserved. BUT $256? We didn't receive a private tour. We weren't treated any different than anyone else in the riding tour and there were plenty of additional people. Nothing we did out of the norm deserved such a gratuity. The guides with the group were overly friendly and they weren't rude, but I was immediately in a different mindset before I went on my ride. I stayed back at the end and went at my leisure around the island. I was not happy at all and my experience was not joyful. All we heard is how hard they worked. Heck, we all do! My family didn't know of what I paid or they said we would've canceled. Over $1250 for the initial booking, $84 boaters course, $256 gratuity - totaling almost $1600 - for less than 90 min jet ski ride. ABSURD! We will never book with this place again. We've booked with this place over 9yrs ago and it wasn't to this degree of costs. I gave a 3 rating, because they were nice (i would be to if I received that kind of gratuity). I'm sure ill get a heartfelt response of how they work so hard for us and give them another chance... blah blah blah... I work hard as heck for my money and if it wasn't for trying to give my family a little excitement for the morning, I definitely would've canceled this "adventure". Never Again!

Yelp
We arrived around 10:00 PM on a Wednesday night to Parrot Key. We stayed three nights and departed on Saturday. I don't know much of the history of this hotel but I assume it has been recently renovated by looking at the past Yelp reviews and comments. I choose the hotel because it was part of the Autograph group and we really liked the Boxer in Boston and the Winter Haven in South Beach. The Parrot Key was also running a sale for the time period we booked and the price seemed reasonable. The grounds of the hotel are very nice. There are beautiful gardens and four small pools. There is a pool bar and each room seemed to have a little patio. We had a garden view room or facing the pool. We never got around to checking out the beach area as the weather was in the 60's and low 70's without much sun. We spent most of the day's times in town. Our room was very nice and spacious with two large beds as we were 3 adults. The bathroom was also a nice size and updated. The rooms had recently been renovated. Everything felt new. Pros - Newly renovated hotel Friendly staff Beautiful grounds Breakfast included (decent selection of items) Location was quiet Hotel does have a beach, at least I saw it in pictures :-( Free shuttle service to town. However, NO shuttle service in the evening. Cons - - Beyond walking distance to downtown and Duval Street. They provide a shuttle during the day. We either walked to the Trolley tour stop or took an Uber to town. There is a Walgreens next door, but not many good restaurants or things to do within walking distance. - Mandatory Valet parking. This really isn't such a terrible thing as parking is crazy down town and $15.00 per day is not outrageous. We parked down by the harbor on our last day before the drive home and it was $12.00 for 3 hours. The best bet is to take the hotel shuttle or Uber it back and forth to town in my opinion. -There isn't a restaurant on premises as of yet. This wasn't a big deal as were always in town anyway but might be for some. - As in Miami, this hotel charges a resort fee of $30.00 per day. Between the mandatory valet parking and the resort fee that its $45.00 per day extra plus tax. We enjoyed our stay at the Parrot Bay. When we return to Key West I would definitely consider the Parrot Bay again but might also try to find something in town. We basically just used the room for sleeping as we were out most of the day. If we had warmer and sunnier weather we would have used the pool and the beach areas.

Yelp
Saw some prostitutes and bed bugs... Wouldn't recommend coming back to this place. The sales rep was very unhelpful. Wasn't willing to clean our sheets or anything just wanted us to give more information.

Yelp
This place exceeded my expectations! Ladies this place caters, everything for us and I will explain. It is very clean, the service is incredible from the minute you arrive. Valet guy Anderson was professional and courteous, at the Check in Ashley greeted us and helped us to a very smooth check in. At the pool bar Lilian was paying attention to detail all the time. The pools are sanctuaries are they were beautiful and clean as well. They provide towels and sunscreen!!! Yes they have sunscreen for everyone. The room that we got had two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, small sink with cabinets, 3 tv's, balcony facing the ocean with a beautiful view. In the bathroom they have L'Occitante lotion, as well as plenty of shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. They also have a spray for your pillows that helps you sleep better. They have a safe, a closet and plenty of drawers for your clothes. They also have a hair dryer and a big bathtub and shower. If you come to Key west don't look anywhere else. This is the place to stay!!!!! We stayed at many other properties in the past but this has been the one that went above and beyond. This place was magical! See all the pictures that I'm sharing. You can thank me later. :)

Yelp
The parrot key hotel is a great place to stay in key west! The front desk women, DEMI and ASHLEY were so welcoming and helpful - also, Alejandra, the valet! SHAUN, the concierge, was informative and sincere. Our whole experience at the parrot key was terrific! Highly recommend!

Yelp
While we loved the space of the 2 bedroom villa there were so many reasons this resort was not worth the money. First, it's quite spendy even if you are used to traveling. They only allow valet but charge $15 a day for it. No big deal, we have seen that often in bigger cities. But the $38 a day resort fee seemed excessive when there is no maid service (we stayed 3 nights, never once did they come), the pool was freezing (first pool, by the outdoor restaurant) and the shampoos and soaps were just cheap dial soap in L'Occitane bottles. The outdoor restaurant and bars is quite pricey too. After tip we paid $95 for 2 apps, 2 cocktails and a kids meal. On top of that the resort could definitely use a good scrubbing. Our bed was clean but it doesn't look like anyone has taken the time to clean up the place. Damaged doors, moldy showers, grubby handrails. Our sheets had a rip in them and some of our towels were stained. For what you spend to stay here there are some much better options closer to downtown, don't require driving, that aren't right next door to a Walgreens and across from all the big box shopping and just so much nicer for the price.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Parrot Key! The facility is very nice and our "villa" felt like home away from home (we had two floors and two rooms!). Instagram-worthy villas next to the sand and water, and there were three pools so the adults don't have to get in the same pool with loud annoying children (yes they are designated!) Since this place is currently considered a "sneak-peak" version, management could still use some improvement. We were caught up in a mix-up during check-in, and I'm sure the other party was furious so please no more check-in blunders! It could easily have made this a lower-star review, but the facility was so lovely we are actually letting it go this time (but what happened is definitely not okay). Parking is valet-only, which is unfortunate. We don't like the idea but many hotels in busy areas with limited space are valet-only too so we sucked it up. Free breakfast was a plus. Smoked salmon, yogurt, lots of variety of croissant, and fruit bowl were what we had. Yum! I'm hoping they can have cooked items once they have a functioning kitchen. We really liked that Parrot Key Hotel was removed from the downtown bustle, but that also means fewer access to good places to eat. We actually ended up driving away from downtown Key West to avoid the parking hassel and ate dinner at another hotel restaurant nearby. Parrot Key would be set once they complete their on-site restaurant in 2019, assuming it has great food and an ambiance just as nice as their current facility!

Yelp
Very, very nice resort ! The staff was really nice and helpful. Our flight was an early one and when we got to the resort was very surprised our room was ready and they let us check in several hours early !!! Was very much appreciated. Wish there were more choices on menu and our water view room was not really water view. There is a fence and lots of foliage. I wouldn't pay for that upgrade in a room if it's a bottom floor room. But overall nice resort and loved how they let cats live there and take care of them .

Yelp
I came here for my honeymoon. My husband and I do not like swimming in ocean. So we swim at resort, what a mistake that was we were fine swimming in pool the beginning of the week. The day before we left we went swimming in the 3rd pool got chemical burns all over our body so much that all my hair was fried off. I noticed spoke with manager after a week of them decideinf weather to give us a refund or some sort back they said no not enough evidence when we provided all kinds of pictures like they requested I do not recommend anyone to this resort. They do not care about there guest at all. 7 1/2 inches inches I had to get cut off my head after spending hundreds on it for my wedding. I honestly hate this place and they way they treated me and my husband.

Yelp
If you are staying in Key West for several days and can make good use of the amenities of this hotel, the cost may be worth it. Everything was clean and comfortable, however we were only staying for one night. I also thought the valet parking was unnecessary. It was difficult to know if you were required to use it or if it was a choice. We were led to believe that it was mandatory.

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about how gorgeous, lush and clean this place was. We got a 2 bedroom villa and it ended up being a 2 story townhouse style which was perfect for our 4 girl crew. This hotel had 4 pools, one of which was adults only, a bar and a restaurant. They offered different shuttles and I used the one that went to Smather's Beach. It was a quick 5 min. ride to the beach where chairs & towels are included. You could rent an umbrella for $16 / day. You could also rent jet ski's, paddle boards, kayak's and little catamaran's. We did an excursion for a chartered catamaran that was AMAZING!! We booked it through the concierge (God bless you, Tanyo! I hope I remembered his name correctly, he was the best) at Parrot Key and I am telling you it was some of the best money I've ever spent! It included snorkeling, kayaking, appetizers, drinks and ice was ready for the cooler that was awaiting us on board to bring alcohol. I truly wish I could personally thank each person that worked here that we came in contact with. They bent over backwards to make us feel welcomed, let us know we could use all the amenities before & after checking in / out, which I just thought was so nice! Everyone was beyond friendly and we did not want to leave! PS don't pay for valet, park at the Home Depot

Yelp
The stay was amazing and being right on the water way was beautiful for morning and evening photos. Rooms were spacious. Only issue we had was with neighbor above us, super loud walking up and down the stairs and shutting doors. Nice to have an adults only pool, very few children was staying when I went so nice to enjoy peace and quiet on vacation.

Yelp
Despite this being a beautiful hotel with its perks, spend your money elsewhere. My family, who are Asian American, found ourselves to be unfairly treated by hotel staff. We came with our family friends, who are white passing, and both of us can agree that we have been treated differently. When we first arrived, our friends were allowed to pull up directly in front of the lobby. The valet worker rushed up to them and quickly got them situated with the parking situation and another rushed with a luggage cart and helped them put their belongings from their trunk onto it. It was super quick and efficient. But, when we pulled up to the exact spot to where they were (mind you there were no other cars coming at this time) we were told to park on the side of the building. No one came up to us with the luggage cart and we had to ask for it. After about 10 minutes, someone finally brought it to us, but immediately walked away and didn't even offer to help us put our stuff on it or bring it to reception. When it was time to go to our rooms our friends went first. An attendant took their luggage cart and walked them to their room. We followed right behind them. We went up to our luggage cart and starting pushing it towards our room. An attendant ran up to my mother, who was pushing the cart, and asked her to show him her room key. It seemed as if he just assumed that we were stealing it!!! After showing it to him (as if coming out of the lobby/reception building and only having one full luggage cart left outside wasn't proof enough) he waved us off and walked back to a group of attendants just standing around. We were not shown to our room, or neither did anyone even offer to help push it to our room. As my brother loaded the last suitcase into our room, the same attendant came over and asked if we were done and took the luggage cart back. But, after asking our friends, the attendant that went with them helped bring all their suitcases into their room. make that make sense. The valet system was awful too. When we went up to the valet attendant 15-20 minutes after bringing our luggage to our room my dad was approaching the table with the card they gave us in his hand, he immediately started walking away from him. The attendant eventually came back after like 5 minutes and told him that he would get his car. Our friends came ten minutes later and we were still there waiting for the car. The second a valet attendant saw our friends, he rushed up to him, took their card, and it car came before ours did-- and we still had to wait minutes after they got their car! Not sure if it's just the area, but the people here, especially at this hotel, were very unwelcoming. The only staff member there that was nice to our family and was pleasant to talk to was Ashley Roberts at reception. Definitely look into other hotels in the area if you can. There aren't very many amenities that give this place a WOW factor.

Yelp
Even though the staff and the hotel was Nice it definitely is not worth spending over $300 for a night. On top of the bill for the night they don't offer free parking for guests , which you think they would being that your spending so much money on a room already . They only offer valet parking which is $15 per night even though they have a parking lot. Such a rip off and a scam . Definitely would not stay here again. Room was clean, no bugs or dirt. The location was good only about 10 minute drive to the main attractions like Duval Street and the popular shops.

Yelp
Absolutely filthy accommodations. Our room was dirty, towels not present and garbage outside patio door (couldn't walk out without stepping in garbage). The duvet cover was filthy, ketchup (I hope and not blood) stained on the bed side down. No idea how housekeeping would have missed this. Do not waste your time or money here. After all the COVID precautions I have no idea how this was deemed a clean room for a guest. Front desk and housekeeping not responsive.

Yelp
Warning! Please make sure you choose the right place to stay safe on your trip and noting the guarante to be safe or security not even have it. If something happening it your fault no one can't help you at all. Don't let your expensive stuff sit in the room or forget something when the trip ends. You never ever get them back or No one cares about what you left in the room. If they found something they will keep it. (There is no ethics in the profession.) I left my long trench coat some of the brand and hang on next the TV. Housekeeping didn't see anything and all keep saying I didn't found anything in the room‍. First person who get in the room to clean after I left !! It's the owner??? Or manager??? You guess!! Nonsense. Please train your staff to be professional. Be honest with what you do. Definitely, I will tell all my family members, company, and business members to stay away from this hotel. Please don't do this for another customer because doesn't matter how beautiful your hotel is but service is terrible. hope your business is grown. Seems like you got the license but you don't even know how to drive.

Yelp
Loved my stay at Parrott Key. Made reservations on the way down to Key West based on my fellow Yelpers. I must say they didn't let me down. After a longer than expected trip down, upon check-in we were upgraded and the staff was wonderful. They very accommodating to our needs; the balconies, the room, the quiet, the hammocks...I could go on and on. This hotel is in a great location to US1, a couple plazas, and historic downtown Key West but the landscaping makes you feel like your far from it all. Parrott Key was perfect!

Yelp
We stayed in a beach side villa for our honeymoon. It was AMAZING. We were greeted with fresh Sangria when we first arrived. Our room was beautiful. It had 2 balconies, a kitchen, 2 rooms (one upstairs and one downstairs, both with full bathrooms), and a living room. I loved being able to sprawl out all my outfits and accessories in the upstairs bedroom while we slept in the downstairs one. Very spacious. The northern side of the island has protected mangroves so no swimming on the beach there. This was great because it was quiet. We loved laying on the hammocks at night watching the sky. So romantic and beautiful. The amenities were that of any high end resort. The several pools were nicely maintained and had plenty of towels. The bar by the pool makes a mean piña colada and cubano! My husband planned all of our excursions with the concierge. They were fantastic! We loved every restaurant they made reservations for us at. The jet ski tour we did left right at the hotel! It was probably our favorite activity. My husband rented us a golf cart to drive around the island with and I highly recommend this. It's easier than waiting for the valet every morning. We liked staying a few miles away from Duval St because it was quiet but only a 5 minute golf cart ride. Key West is one of my favorite places. We had the best time here relaxing and going on adventures after our wedding.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time here for our Anniversary. The staff was extremely helpful & accommodating with their suggestions about Key West. I loved the diversity too. The 4 pool options came in handy as my wife & I easily one that was kid-free. The Parrott had a tropical feel with the many palm trees & beautiful landscaping. I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
My new favorite Key West home away from home! My BF and I decided to spend the weekend there spur of the moment. We were greeted by friendly valet hosts who helped us with our bags, offered us water and led us to the lobby. Once at the front desk Dave offered us Sangria and got us all checked in quickly while giving us a rundown of the amenities on the property. Our room was right around the corner. The rooms were immaculate and spacious. And not just clean, "Monica clean!" #friendsreference The beds were comfy and our patio seating face the pool area. The resort offers 4 pools. The adult only pool is very nice, heated and cozy. We spent most of our time there when we weren't in downtown key west. Our first morning we rented bikes and trekked to Duval, that was a mistake. What a loooong bike ride! So later that night we rented a scooter and life became a lot easier! The pineapple mimosa is a must and so is the margherita pizza. The chicken wings were also a popular choice. The service by the pool, the restaurant and just everywhere in the resort was really amazing, the disneyworld service kind of amazing! Amazing hospitality and very good amentities. I know some reviews state that paying for valet parking and not being able to self park is not ideal but a very good percentage of hotels don't offer free parking and parking out on the street can run you $40 for 24 hours, so paying $15 a night and having my car watched over was highly convenient for me and easy on the pockets.

Yelp
The parking is such a scam! How can you require valet parking for ALL CARS and yet charge you 15 dollars a day..plus tax!!?? Makes no damn sense. Its not even gated parking, its a basic parking lot anyone can enter! I had to go to the ER in the middle of the night & had to WAIT FOR THE UNNECESSARY VALET to give me MY CAR!! Beautiful hotel rooms, parking ridiculous. Then the "mandatory valet" had the damn nerve to put out their hand for a tip after I loaded my own car with my luggage that I had to lug allllll the way to the front of the hotel due to not being allowed to have access to my own damn car when I need it. Gtfoh.

Yelp
This is a lovely resort in a good spot.... BUT they need to refresh the rooms. The carpet is simply nasty. The showers need to be redone. But most of all they need to give service. We had to beg for towels, beg for water, beg for coffee, beg for service. The nicest workers were the valet guys! They were incredible and helped save the rest of the trip for our family. The food at the Groves is mediocre processed food at best at huge prices (i.e. 3 bagels and one coffee at 54.00 for breakfast) and I could have lived with the prices but the bagels were toasted til i worried about broken teeth. We stayed here years ago and the service and facility were top notch. Whoever has bought this place has run it in the ground.

Yelp
Stayed three nights, enjoyed our stay. Plus: 1) We has a great price on suite with two beds and two baths. Separate floor for one bed and bath. 2) Location was about $10-$13 for a Lyft to Duval. 3) Check-in easy and staff nice. 4) Comfy beds and pillows! 5) Very clean and modern room. USB plug ins by bed. 6) Lots is room in bathroom for our stuff. 7) Located next to Walgreens, literally right there. 8) Great breakfast spot in mall across street, Goldman's. 9) Good view from suite. Minus: 1) Tons of kids at pools, one adult pool but it was off-season and all pools were small and super crowded. Hard to get a chair, let alone two next to each other. 2) Suite has a lot of needed repairs. Such as green shower drain, poor wall fixes that were not painted, tons of luggage scuffs. Patio light was out. 3) Same music at pools all day, could get annoying after a few days. 4) Only shuttle to Duval every 2 hrs. More often shuttle would have been ideal, so we could have used it to save on rides. Overall we were happy. Staff was A+. Great housekeeping, everyone was extremely nice.
