I stopped in at Parterre for what turned out to be quite a lengthy but ultimately lovely lunch.
Parterre is a super cute cafe located off one of the Christianshavn canals - the outdoor seating had lovely views of the boats...but the indoor seating had stronger wifi connection so I caved to connectivity and sat indoors. (Note: past reviews mentioned the wifi and that Parterre is a good place to get some work done; however, Parterre posted on their wall that they'd prefer for people to engage in face-to-face conversations, though they do still provide wifi for customers.)
The cafe was staffed by three friendly girls - the one who took my order seemed a bit frazzled in general and it seemed that the service was a bit off their game that day. First off, they were already out of rye bread before noon, which affected their lunch sandwich selections. Also, the coffee took a while. I then found out that the girl spilled my coffee while walking around looking for me, and I didn't want to make a scene out of it, but I saw them kind of just refill the cup with coffee then attempt to wipe off all the spilled coffee, so the ratio of milk to coffee was off.
The avocado toast, served on white bread since they were out of rye, was delicious. They served it with some kind of pesto and topped with dill and crunchy rye bread crumbs.
While I was there, Parterre baked up a new batch of croissants and they smelled amazing, so of course, I had to buy two. I was surprised by how expensive the food ended up being - I spent about $15 on a coffee and an avocado toast, then some more on the croissants. That being said, it was also a really lovely cafe, and the avocado toast was the best I had in Copenhagen.
