"Overlooking Athens You can’t miss the Parthenon, the majestic ruin towering above Athens . Originally painted in vivid hues, this feat of architecture, engineering, and artistry is still as awe-inspiring as it was almost 2,500 years ago. Le Corbusier, pioneer of modernism, called it the most “ruthlessly flawless” monument in the world. Hold on to your admission ticket: It’s valid for several other archaeological sites on the slopes surrounding the Acropolis, including the Agora and theater of Dionysus."

Amazing and beautiful experience. We lucked out on a beautiful day with an easy breeze - come early! Tourist will quickly fill up all of the picture and viewing areas.

Undeniably legendary. This place has real presence and even for a few moments I hope you are struck by what “history” really means.
You don’t have to study it. You don’t need a special tour. This is what humans do given time and pride and enough cooperation. Religion, government, society… it’s all just people cooperating to create monuments both real and imagined.
Take it all in. Breathe out. Stand where so many have stood. This is an important place and I hope we continue to respect and protect it.
Stamped on these lifeless things are the hands and the hearts of people just like us from so long ago. And there is so much more history to write, if only we understood what it’s like to make it.
Enjoy.

The Acropolis/Parthenon experience was nice. The climb up wasn’t so bad (just kind slippery floors and wear shoes with good grip). We bought tickets a day prior for the 6pm slot and were allowed in at 5.45pm.
The good: Overall a pretty place. As a history buff, it was a special experience to be standing at a place where so much history was made. Got some nice photos of the structures against the evening sun. There were shaded spots here and there for some respite from the sun.
The bad: The €30 ticket price. It isn’t justified given that there are a lot of works actively being done inside. There were a lot of scaffolding and machinery around. The structures were also cordoned off. You just feel like a visitor going through the area and snapping pictures instead of feeling like you’re really experiencing what it must have been like to be up at the Acropolis back then. Some may be okay with this, but I just feel a €20 ticket would make more sense.

It's a must see! My experience was really good even though it was quite crowded (not surprised), it is well organized and maintained. The site itself is amazing and it offers you as a bonus a great top view of the city.

Walk up wasn't so bad. Buy tickets in advance if you are visiting during high season. Take entrance near Acropoli station for easier climb up. Bring your own water and wear shoes for walking. Amazing experience to see human history up close.

You do want to go there as being there really makes you feel like being in ancient Greece. It's an amazing site, with all the surroundings like the big amphitheater, the old theater and the green parks nearby full of beautiful rock formations.

The walk up is not too bad. Came in a summer day around 6pm. I recommend this time. It’s not too hot or crowded. Took 20 min to make it to the top. Took pictures and enjoyed the views. Walked down right before the sun went down and that’s when the crowd started to grow. I still recommend you take water, hat and sunblock. Make sure you use the restroom before you walk up since there aren’t any up top. Great experience!

It was a great feeling to be part of history for a couple hours . The monument is well preserved and further works are going on. You get a fair idea of the magnanimity of the place, the architecture and the use of geometry in design . Perched at a height , you get a good view of the city . Group entry with guide is faster as compared to individual entry. I suggest that first visit the museum before walking to the monument.
