On the Grid : Memorial Park

"If you just finished your breakfast at Marston's, and need to walk off the french toast, take a stroll around Memorial Park. In the summer there is a free outdoor concert series. Check the calendar to see what is playing, pack a picnic, bring the kids, and a few bottles of wine (in brown paper bags) and settle in for a lovely evening!" - OSSO

Cool park with a neat amphitheater that has some music from time to time. Considerably less homeless but they are still there most days. Lots of space for a picnic or for the kids to run around and play.

The Pasadena Memorial Park looks a bit abandoned and could use some more maintenance in general. The grass needs tending in some sections and some areas feel neglected, but it’s still a quiet spot for a break in the city next to the metro station.

The food here is great. The fried yucca is amazing. The cheese sauce drizzled over it was Chef's kiss. For my entré, I had the steak with French fries and white rice. The portions are pretty generous. I became full fast.

Lovely small park. I do see more homeless people than the pasadena’s Central Park but they are quiet and mind their own business. Pretty clean and well maintained. There is an outdoor concert area and a nice playground for kids (5-12).

This is an impressive urban park. Whoever designed this park deserves an award, and whoever cleans and maintains it deserves a raise. It's got a little bit of everything and then some. All the standard amenities, public restroom, playground, paved walking paths, benches, grassy lawns and shade trees. Additionally, there is a nice veterans memorial statue near the center of the park. There is also an amphitheater with a combination of benches and grass in front where free concerts are played in the summer. The park is right next to a Gold Line rail station and has bus stops on the street beside it. It's a short walk to all the shops and restaurants in Old Town. If you are spending the day in Old Town I recommend taking a break to relax and recharge in Memorial Park. Update/Disclaimer: My wife visited this park today and reported that the bathroom was in really poor condition. Almost unusable due to trash in the toilets. So, no guarantee that the bathroom will be in good condition.

May 30th, 2022 Celebrating & Honoring the Thirty-one Brave Pasadena born United States Soldiers who fought in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan at Memorial Park in Old Town Pasadena.Beautiful turnout with a live bag-piper rendition of Amazing Grace family members of some of the soldiers and the reading of the names of the fallen sons of Pasadena simultaneously with the peeling of a bell. The ceremony was very moving and rather well attended. Lots of doggie families too. Benji surprisingly was rather chill throughout the entire time. At Ease, Soldiers ‼️

Nice little park by Saint Andrews church and city hall. I took plenty of pictures for your convenience.
