Greeted warmly by staff. They were making their best efforts to accommodate us for canoeing even though we didn’t book in advance. We didn’t end up going but they made us feel welcome and tried their best which is what counts! Beautiful grounds for a short walk with kids

Lovely well kept natural space with ongoing restoration projects, educational materials, and outdoor seating to relax and enjoy. It's not a large area, but rich in Flora and fauna to watch and listen to. The binoculars they lent us are the nicest I've used--much appreciated! You can rent kayaks too.

Was quiet and clean. They have done a great job with educating you about wildlife and native plants. The staff was friendly. We toured the grounds, walkways, greenhouse and garden. Stayed about an hour, but you could stay longer there relaxing on the rocking chairs and many benches.

We pulled in from the interstate to get some time out of the car, and had a wonderful visit! A family of four Osprey spent about a half hour hovering and calling really close to the dock. We also saw a few box turtles, a small alligator, jumping mullet, fiddler crabs, cute carpenter bees, red winged black birds, wrens, and a kingfisher. They had an exhibit about bird banding and some terrariums in doors. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure we had binoculars (a must) before we went out.

Nice place to stop by and see if you are in the area. We wanted to rent a paddleboat but Cole was MIA at the dock/boardwalk. When we mentioned this to the very nice woman at the main desk (after walking all the way back to the visitor center) he magically showed up. He asked us in front of her if we wanted to rent a boat and my husband said not now (he was hot and tired). We were walking to one more boardwalk and going home. Cole made a rude comment to him. It was unnecessary. Apparently he missed the class on customer relations. Even the little girl playing in the building was more helpful than him. Its handicapped assessible and free in July. Everything else was terrific. Cole needs to get a new job.

Stopped for a native plant sale, and stayed a bit longer to explore. There are marked paths with signage about native plants and wildlife. Saw quite a few turtles and birds. Lovely views.

This hidden gem is beautiful both inside and out, but the staff are the true pearls. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating making you feel like family as soon as you step through the door. There are activities for all ages. We were the first customer to rent the new pedal boat and fished down Rhodes Bayou. The whole experience was fantastic and will definitely be back. 10/10 would recommend.

Very peaceful nature preserve. Enjoyed seeing how well and function built eerything at the site is. Arrived too late to kayak but looked like it would be a great time.
