Paseo de los Monos

I volunteered at the shelter for a week and a half. This period was amazing for me. I helped a lot with the animals in the shelter, with feeding, care, and more. I took part in building cages and felt like I learned a lot from my stay there. The owners of the place were very nice, they made sure we always had a good time, that we didn't lack for anything. They ate with us and talked with us and the experience felt completely authentic. There was nothing I asked for that they said no to. In addition, the permanent workers there are amazing and it was so much fun to work with them. Moreover, the owners gave us amazing recommendations about the area and make sure we have time during the volunteering to explore the area, go to the market and see Puyo and around. We cooked together in the evening, played pool, put music, and they support everything we wanted to do. I highly recommend coming to visit the shelter, and even volunteering for a while if you can. One of the places I enjoyed the most in Ecuador.

This place felt like a home away from home to me!! I stayed here for a week volunteering and it was an unforgettable experience.The family and staff are more than accomadating, and the animals are incredible to watch and interact with. I cannot emphasize enough how life changing this experience was, and how important their mission is. Both animals and humans are so well taken care of here, and I can't imagine not returning. I hope to be back soon :)

What a wonderful place. Last month my daughter and I volunteered there for 16 days. The place is amazing. We were treated like family the whole time. The care they give to the animals there is top notch. Evelyn, Juan, and the rest of the staff really care for the well being of every animal there. I highly recommend visiting Paseo de los Manos while in Ecuador. Say hi to my buddy Lucas the capuchin monkey for me.

Great tour and experience. The road in is dirt and the parking is limited but there wasn't much traffic. We spent approximately 2 hours, the tour is maybe 45 minutes and after that you can walk at your own pace and check out more. There is a small stream that you can wait in if you are brave. We had a nice relaxing time with the monkeys.

A lovely place, friendly monkeys and a nice and easy trail, worth a visit.

An amazing experience with monkeys, coatis, birds, butterflies and river swimming. Can't recommend enough!

The shelter itself is great, unfortunately the owners made us feel very uncomfortable and were disrespectful while volunteering there.
