On the Grid : El Cielo

"El Cielo offers an artistically designed, Colombian-fusion tasting menu. The least expensive tasting costs 85 bucks a head without drinks, but from having chocolate poured on your hands at the start of the meal to huffing rose-scented clouds billowing from your tabletop to end it, each moment is meticulously planned, delicious and a laugh-riot. They also have an a la carte menu with waterfront seating available." - Hernan Bas & Pete Rozek

Great coffee and a good price. Friendly staff too.

Google
I love this coffee shop! There is great coffee and snacks. Choice of coffee from different origins, reasonably priced. Snacks include empanadas and some sweet stuff such as cookies. It is a good place if you are just meeting someone for coffee or planning to work on your laptop. Plenty of seating space indoors and outdoors. There are power plugs inside but only in the corners. Chairs and couches are very comfortable. The staff is friendly. Love the atmosphere. Will definitely come back!

Google
Among the best coffee cafes I’ve experienced, with a selection of roasted beans from across the globe. I like the specifications assigned to each bean selection, including acidity, aroma, flavor etc. The baked goods are also terrific.

Google
ordered the medium colombian coffee and it was $4.01. The coffee was a bit bitter but a couple packets of sugar fixed that problem quickly. Pasión Del Cielo has an absolutely amazing location in the middle of brickell that made it so easy to get to. They have plenty of seating outside making it so comfortable for a casual drink for a quick walk. The ambiance was very casual and I definitely recommend the coffee to anyone in brickell.

Google
I liked Pasion del Cielo. I'm looking for good coffee shops in Brickell and this is one of the best so far. They have a selection of twelve beans to choose from, one of them is decaf and the staff is helpful when you find it difficult to make up your mind. The cappuccino was good, the prices are fair and there are plenty of tables outside

Google
These are the best prices I’ve seen in a coffee shop in years! And this place isn’t just any coffee shop - the bean selection and presentation are better than anything I’ve seen before. Particularly love the clarity around acidity in each strain of coffee because I feel like other places (cough cough Starbucks) are on a mission to get everyone drinking battery acid. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Great stop for coffee. Love the interior and the fact they have all Of their beans shown with origins and listings of percentage of body/acidity/aroma/flavor. This helps one be able to choose and is a step above most other coffee shops. I love a good 100% Kona and Pasión del Cielo has one. I ordered the Kona drip hot-it was pretty good. Not the best Kona I have had, but much better than most serve. I’m excited to go back and try a few other origins. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier!

Google
I love the vibe of this coffee spot but coffee doesn’t taste as good when it’s put in a disposable cup (trash). I also orders a flat white and got 90% foam (they called it a dry cappuccino), this is not the first flat white I ordered in my life and it was not like the others lol. The pumpkin croissant was dank though.

Yelp
Love this place! My favorite are the coffee beans from Brazil, but Sumatra is also great. The baristas is so nice and always a nice experience here :)

Yelp
Upon my visit, I noticed this establishment was very clean, and the presentation of the items for sale was more than acceptable. However, there were no prices listed.. Purchasing several baked goods to return to an office party, I expected to have my items placed in a presentable box, a paper bag. The taste of the items were mediocre at best, unfortunately for this exquisite in elite neighborhood this establishment will need to step it up a bit to earn my future business

Yelp
I won't lie probably the best chai tea I've ever had. So good that I had to order another one. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I ordered a cinnamon roll and they burnt it. I asked for another one and they burnt that one as well. The outer parts were really hard. Still a good place to get coffee, tea etc.

Yelp
The best coffee! I love sweet coffee and couldn't recommend the iced white mocha more! my man loves cold brew and said his was fabulous too what a great hidden gem! really sweet baristas too!

Yelp
Pasion del Cielo in Brickell is my coffee sanctuary for the past 6 years! Their diverse coffee bean selection from around the world keeps me coming back for more. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a daily tradition I cherish.
google avatar

Yelp
A famous coffee spot in the mall at Brickell. We all have to go at some point. I thought it can be quite chaotic but the cafe mocha was good. There is mask wearing and coffee drinking going on . Lots of space to enjoy conversation, people watching and waiting for the next moment you need some more caffeine
google avatar

Tansy W.

Yelp
Good coffee and love that you can even pick your beans! They have several to choose from for any type of coffee drink you order (including lattes, etc). No indoor seating but they have tables outside. Got the iced almond latte with an extra shot and Mexico beans and enjoyed it!

Yelp
BEST COFFEE IN MIAMI I'm a hardcore coffee enthusiast, so places like Dunkin are my worst nightmare. I walk to this place every time I stay in Brickell and they never disappoint. They have 12 different beans from different parts of the world and rank each bean based on body, aroma, acidity and flavor. Each pound they sell of the beans gets up to $75 but it is the best beans I ever had. I have a Jura at home that grinds beans fresh before each cup of coffee and these are the best to bring home. If you are a coffee aficionado like myself, this is the Disney of coffee.

J C.

Yelp
Recently visited Miami and came across this place. The coffee here was so good! I told the barista what I liked and I wanted to try the Kona beans. I got an iced coffee with Vanilla and it was perfect. A nice little coffee shop with friendly baristas.

Yelp
There's likely going to be a line when you arrive but the service and staff move this along so quickly. There's several coffee/espresso options and the coolest part is ordering and choosing from beans from around the world. Each options provided a scale for taste. My latte with beans from Cuba was great and took less that 5 minutes total from the line to receiving my order.
google avatar

Yelp
Small coffee shop that hits the spot! While this place doesn't have any sitting area inside, they have plenty of outdoor seating. This place is quick too so if you're on the go it's perfect They have so many options for the coffee ground and they are named by country of origins. Their empenadas are also very good. The most unique one I found here is the Caprese empanada! What a twist. Good prices I recommend

Yelp
One of the best varieties of coffee in the area. There was a large display of coffees, from light to dark blend and descriptions of each. If you are a coffee lover, this is a place to check out. This location is located on the third floor at Brickell City Center and has plenty of space for working inside and outside of the shop. The beans are roasted on the spot so you know you are getting the freshest cup of coffee. I also ordered the bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich on an english muffin. It took a little while for it to come out but I was there Saturday morning when it was busy so note that if you are in a rush. I had no issues with the staff, they were pretty friendly and helpful when I couldn't decide which coffee blend to get. Def check this place out!

Yelp
Pasion Del Cielo is located on the second floor in Brickell City Center Mall, in front of Zara and it has indoor and outdoor seatings. I have been to this place at least twenty times and I like it because of the great selection of coffee they offer, the service is good and the place is always clean and well-maintained. Before the pandemic, they used to offer iced water for anyone who wanted on the side, which is now not offered due to the Covid19 I believe. On my last visit I had frappe, which was nice and refreshing, but I highly recommend if you visit to get a coffee, as you can choose from different coffes from all around the world.

Yelp
We came back 3 times this trip because my hubby loves the selection of the coffee, literally around the world. We tried Cuba, Kona, Columbia, and Brazil, love how they have the notes: aroma, flavor, acidity and more! The barista name "Ladymar" was so kind. We came came because of her. A much better experiences this trip than our last! Coffee lover? Check it out! They roast their coffee bean per order! Love!

Yelp
Coffee shop inside Brickell City Center. Offers a wide variety of coffee, including your favorite Cuban cafecito. Additionally they carry local products, like cookies, orange juice and juice shots. The coolest thing is that you get to pick your own coffee bean. They carry over 10+ options of beans sources from different areas of the world. Seating is limited, don't expect to find inside seating. However they do have 3-5 tables around the store, overlooking green spaces and shops inside BCC. Coffee quality is great! And worth its price, you will get great coffee at better price than Starbucks.

Yelp
Brickell doesn't have a great coffee scene, so I was really excited to see Pasión Del Cielo open in the heart of the neighborhood. This particular outpost differs from others as it's setup to be more grab-and-go style for those working in the area, so there is no seating inside and only a few tables outside. That means my hopes and dreams of camping out to get work done like I would do in some of their other locations is out the window. But alas... Drink menu is the same - pick your beans and your style. If you don't know what you're in the mood for, the friendly staff can walk you through it. Usually I go for an espresso machiatto, but the frappes are a special treat when it's hot and you want something sweeter. They also have some pastries, empanadas and other packaged foods to go, as well. Situated right on Brickell Ave, parking is a pain but they informed me there is a garage on Brickell Bay Drive with the first 25 min free if you just want to pick up something quick, or they can validate valet tickets of the building for a flat fee of $5 no matter the time you spend there. Definitely eases the blow!

Yelp
This is a grab-and-go Pasión del Cielo location at the Plaza on Brickell. Like other locations, this one has their coffee bean selection on display from different countries along with their aroma, body, flavor and acidity levels. The staff is always eager to help you decide the specifics of your order which is ready within minutes. My personal favorite is their Costa Rica iced latte. Great location if you can walk to it because there's no street parking on Brickell Avenue.

Yelp
Pasion del Cielo, is one of those places that, throughout my years in Yelp, I see my friends checking-in constantly. Obviously, it must be good, and leaving an hour away, I would be a little jealous of not being able to try it. Well, I finally got the chance and understand why they all keep going back. Small coffee shop, clean and very organized. Right when you walk in, on the wall, you will see different kinds of coffee regions, and underneath each their level of acidity, body, aroma, and flavor. Study them all, if it's your first time here, or ask them for recommendations. This is the first step of your ordering process. Once you've picked your coffee beans, then you can decide how you want it prepared: black, latte, cappuccino, mocha, espresso, etc. I went with the Sumatra - high levels of aroma, flavor and body but low acidity, making my latte very smooth but very flavorful. Of course they made one of those cute designs with the milk - which I always love. On top of that, they also have some empanadas (spinach and Cheese, 4 cheese, and more), breakfast sandwiches, some breads/ pastries. And loved that they have bottled cold pressed juices, great to start your day or refresh a little under a hot summer day. Service was quick, they have some small tables outside, and when the back restaurants are closed, you can use those tables too. Really nice place to start your day, or get that caffeine fix whenever your body needs it.
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
This is a great place if you need a caffeine pick me up! Definitely more flavorful than Starbucks and not as sugary. The downside is there is no parking. Definitely a local joint. There's plenty of bean selection, I don't think you can go wrong with any choice. There's also little snacks available such as cupcakes or pastries but not a full kitchen.
google avatar

Emily B.

Yelp
Very crowded during lunch time - as to be expected. In a lovely location in coral gables, so it's nice to get a coffee and wander around for a bit. Not always easy to grab a table, but doable if you wait around a bit. I usually order cappuccinos or regular coffee and have really enjoyed both!

Yelp
Came in on a Monday afternoon around 5pm. Employees on this day were two ladies. They were both hiding in the office. I stood by the register a bit confused about finding the shop all alone without any employees. Once the two employees came out to the counter to care of me, the one at the register told  me they do not have Cuban, Brazil or Sumatra coffee available.  Out of coffee beans at the beginning of the week!  Not a good sign. I should've left at that point, but I really wanted a cup of coffee so I decided to order whatever they had left. While taking my order the two girls were talking about personal issues, so needless to say my order came out wrong. I asked for hot coffee and got iced coffee. Mind you, the place was still empty at this time.  Both ladies were careless.  The girl at the register took her time to tell me I was wrong because I had ordered cold coffee not hot. I rarely drink cold coffee unless it's during the summer, but that is beside the point. On this particular afternoon, I needed and ordered hot coffee. Why am I having to defend myself here? Worst experience I have ever had at a Pasión del Cielo location. The Gables location has it more together. In my opinion, the product is good so a star for that but more training is needed at this location for the baristas and whomever is in charge of stocking the coffee beans. Hope they get it together soon.

Katie D.

Yelp
This location closed! Relocated about 5 mins away. The location and building is not the same:(

Yelp
Best coffee in Brickell! Choose from a dozen types of beans from around the world. Made fresh right in front of you. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ashleigh K.

Yelp
Pricing matching Brickell as I like to say. They have several options on coffee beans for you to choose from; the three on the furthest right are the most expensive..I don't believe the others range in cost. I've only had their ham and cheese croissant but I enjoy it on way to work.. for a large iced latte and the croissant it's around $8/$9 but I always tip so I normally spend a $10.

Yelp
Fun place for a late coffee after dinner. Large selection. Located near City Center, is a vibrant area great for people watching on the patio. Skip the Starbucks...
google avatar

Apple S.

Yelp
Expensive coffee for the sizes. Please give me Dunkin' Donuts already. Flavor was really good but NOT worth the prices.
google avatar

Johnny A.

Yelp
The outside seating area is relaxing. Its in the brickell area. The place is small so there is no available seating inside. There is no available street parking or private parking lot. I had to park around the block. The coffee is great. Just took a moment to relax and enjoy my coffee in silence before I start my day. I could definitely understand the comments from others when it comes to staff. They're not enthusiastic at all.
google avatar

Roy S.

Yelp
Upgrading back to 4 stars....looks like they heard and responded to my earlier criticism and went ahead and spent some money on new furniture that is not falling apart....very convenient to where I live, their Java coffee is richer and has more flavor than other varietals I have sampled, and this is a pretty good place to enjoy a cup of coffee outdoors and people watch.

J C.

Yelp
Cool coffee shop! Seriously the best latte I've ever had and the employees were super kind.
google avatar

Derick D.

Yelp
Best cortadito in Miami! You can get it with evaporated milk and caramel. Choice of coffee beans from Kenya, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Hawaii, Cuba, Mexico, Java, Sumatra, and Brazil. Every coffee bean is unique in their own way. They give in depth descriptions of each. Personal favorites are Costa Rica, Brazil, and Jamaica. Jamaica and Hawaii are an up charge.
google avatar

Alessia I.

Yelp
I recently visited Pasión Del Cielo on a Friday night just before closing. I ordered an espresso macchiato and I thought the concept of choosing the beans was pretty cool. They have a wall of beans from different countries ranging from light to dark. I chose Java which was in the middle, but I found it to be very bitter. I was disappointed that there wasn't an Italian bean because I definitely would've chosen that. I also got a small Dulce de Leche which was good. The shop is rather large but a bar top occupies a lot of space. There is also outside seating in the mall. Unfortunately, like other reviews have pointed out, it was rather dirty. I realize it was almost closing so maybe that's why? Overall it was an average experience, but the cashier was very pleasant and helpful.
google avatar

Amelie D.

Yelp
Coffee lover? Here is the place to go. You can choose your coffee bean from 10 different countries! They have the 10 choices and their description (aroma, body, acidity and flavor) that can help you to make the coffee you will like. The line when we went there was really long. So many people coming there to enjoy their coffee and fresh pastries. The staff is friendly and they work fast.

Yelp
5 Star Coffee, 3 Star overall experience. Pasion del Cielo is located in the heart of Brickell ave, a very convenient stop if you work or live in the area. The coffee shop itself is very small, with barely room to place an order. The ordering process is quite simple, the first step is to select your desired bean (there are about 8 different options), then you just choose your desired coffee preparation. So far I have tried multiple beans and coffee preparations, and the coffee is always delicious and you are able to savor every single sip. The issue, and only reason why I gave this place three stars is the seating area. For me a coffee is not only about the coffee, but the experience. The two times I have visited the 6 tables they have outside are full so I just have to walk away with the coffee. In the end it feels like Pasion del Cielo - Brickell is designed for people who just want a coffee to go, and if that is you, then this is a great option. If you are looking to sit down and enjoy the experience look elsewhere.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
I am sold by the concept this coffee shop has to offer. They let you build your own coffee, from picking up your favorite coffee beans, which they have it categorized by flavor, body, aroma, and acidity (1-4), number of shots, syrups, etc. I happened to choose a caramel macchiato with Sumatra beans and hazelnut syrup, let me tell you, it was "fantastic" (I know, the final result was not a real macchiato but equally good if not better‍). I already want to come back here and play with different combinations! Congrats guys!!!!

Yelp
I walked into this location for the very first time this evening. I have never been to a Pasión Del Cielo before and I wasn't sure what to expect. When I walked in, I took a look around and the place was absolutely trashed; used napkins and old cups everywhere. It definitely wasn't the best first impression. I brushed it off; Thinking to myself "maybe it was super busy and they were understaffed" and moved onto ordering my coffee. It's definitely a cool concept, you can pick beans from different places around the world. As I was placing my order with the order taker, she pulls out her phone and responds to a text. I was speaking to her for literally less than 2 mins. She could not wait til after I was done placing my order to respond to a text? Extremely rude. Overall, the place would be a lot better if the staff gets retrained.

Yelp
I was not aware that there is a location here in Brickell. I was pleasantly surprised to find that out this morning on my quest for a cup of Joe. It is directly across the street from where I work, so I went there in a bit of a hurry. They attended me very nicely and got my drink out to me in a timely manner. I love how they draw designs in the foam. They drew a chocolate leaf in mine, almost too pretty to drink. I got a peppermint mocha latte and my only complaint would be that, it really did not taste that minty. The overall taste was pretty good, but I would have appreciated a little bit more of that kick.
google avatar

Gabriel P.

Yelp
usually good coffee ( not excellent either) and overall food service. However they don't seem to care too much about covid as the cashier lowered her mask and spoke loudly at me standing 2 meters away. With all variants and all the clients they have , they should let guard down and endanger customers

Yelp
Pasión Del Cielo is the type of coffee shop you hit up for the sole purpose of convenience because you have no other option. I'm guilty of being a regular here since it's literally just downstairs from my office building, but when time permits, I'll opt for a cortadito from The Plaza Market in the same area or walk over to Puroast for an iced coffee because Pasion is just that overpriced for rather average coffee. Important to note that the service is great though -- don't want to take credit away from the baristas! PROS: The array of coffee beans are tempting the first few times, showcasing beans from a diverse range of origins, naturally appearing to your favorite coffee lover. However, so far, the only beans I've enjoyed re-ordering are the Sumatra (a customer favorite), Java, and Brazilian. Sometimes the Cuban or Colombian is good, but really depends on the type of coffee order you're getting. CONS: I've tried almost all of their coffee orders, and none of them have stuck as my favorite. Their lattes are the worst -- don't get unless you want a cup of milk and barely there espresso. Their cortaditos and coladas are a-okay...but considering that you're already in Miami, just about anywhere else does it better. Lastly, their iced coffees are pretty average, but at a small portion, the value isn't there. Food: 2/5 Service/Speed: 5/5 Price (college student budget): $$ Ambiance: Seating outside. Would return & recommend? 2/5 www.instagram.com/grubgalz *follow @grubgalz on Instagram for more reviews & content!*

Yelp
Great go to for coffee and a croissant. Similar to Starbucks but more personal where staff remember you if you're a frequent customer. Outdoor seating and pet friendly all around
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Decent but tiny coffee shop in the shopping strip. Decent outdoor seating but had no available spots at 11AM. The place itself is barely big enough to fit people ordering and people adding cream/sugar into their coffees. They have tons of different coffee options for both hot and cold coffee which I appreciated, and prices are similar to any other coffee shop. When the coffee was served, it's served without a lid but the guy slid it so aggressively I could constantly see spillage. No bathroom either if you are coming here to drink coffee and sit outside.
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
I love coming to Pasion del Cielo for the wide range of coffee options, ambience and food options. So it kills me to give this location 3 stars, but that's what happens when service is mediocre, at best. The staff doesn't look enthusiastic, one of the baristas spent half the time I was there on the phone, and half my order wasn't prepared until I followed up 5 mins later.
google avatar

Evie S.

Yelp
One of the best places for coffee in Brickell. Reasonable prices for the location. Staff is very friendly and works hard to make your coffee fast and good. Would suggest the Kenya brew!
google avatar

Kiet H.

Yelp
A specialty coffee shop that freshly brews each cup to order and conveniently located in the heart of Brickell. I have been to Pasión in other parts of Miami and have always been satisfied with my experience, so I was glad to see a location open in my neighborhood. Staff were really friendly and good about explaining the difference between each type of coffee. I had the warmed cookie dough brownie and it was delicious. I also ordered the Java Americano, which was pretty light for my taste. Next time I'll try a dark roast instead of a medium. Drivers be warned that there is no street parking available.
google avatar

Wally S.

Yelp
Coffee is great. Service is quick. Baked goods are delicious. I really, really want to love this place but... The folks that work here are very hard working and they always get my order right, but i have never been greated or treated by any employee with a smile. This is a coffee place! I'm looking for a pick-me-up and that means both the product and the people are there to make you feel warm and energized. But these poor kids have zero energy and clearly zero training on how to great and treat with a smile. Both frowns and smiles are contagious. You're not in business to serve the former and it certainly don't cost more to deliver the latter.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I went yesterday and I got a hot latte with oat milk and beans from Colombia and it was just okay. They didn't know how to steam the milk properly because there was a lot of foam at the top so it was more like a cappuccino. My sister got a cinnamon sugar iced latte with Costa Rica and she really liked it. Overall, i think the coffee is just okay, nothing special.
google avatar

Krista M.

Yelp
First off the service is great here. The baristas are so pleasant, the one that served us took the time to explain all the coffee bean flavors and she didn't get annoyed that I took a bit of time to decide on my order...very sweet person! Keep her Passion Del Cielo! I got a coconut vanilla cappuccino with Sumatra coffee beans, which are a rich smooth flavor..also the stronger of the beans. They have coffee bean options that range from light, medium and strong and distinctions for aroma, body acidity and flavor...oooh so good! Great little coffee shop with great city views!

Yelp
After leaving the nail shop I came over to get a coffee drink to keep me up. The customer service is beyond horrible and you'd think that they would be jumping up and down to ask what you need for this sub par $7 lattes. Even with the almond milk addition it's a dollar more than my Starbucks fix. The kicker was asking for a cup of ice and she gave it to me in this plastic shot glass AND then commenced to talk about me to her coworkers - versus saying we can give it to you in the regular cup for .50 or $50 knowing them. On another note ... do they not know that it's coronavjrus time and most businesses are suffering so they should be appreciative of customers still coming out in public to patronize their store. I couldn't think it was personal as I've watched their cold demeanor towards everyone who got their drinks as folk stood by confused wondering if a drink was theirs as they light weight threw the drink on the counter and mumbled what it was as they walked off. Someone hole them soon... From the first person who helped not speaking English to not following their posted practices (as they are supposed to be pouring the creamer to adhere to coronavirus needs but clearly that's not the case .... blessed be the fruit. They won't get another dollar out of me on this trip

Yelp
Love their banana nut muffin!!! I always pick the java coffee beans for my lattes. Great pick!
