On the Grid : Oh Pasta Mia!

"Part pasta factory, part take-out storefront, Oh Pasta Mia! specializes in creating fresh pasta for restaurants and grocery stores, but realized that some of us just want to skip all of that and go straight to the source. Those in the know stop by the tiny storefront to buy fresh linguine (black, saffron, or whole wheat), fettuccine (egg or spinach), or one of 13 varieties of ravioli to take home. Need sauce? They have 7 different kinds. The take-out counter also offers pasta (cooked), salads, soups, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as Cuban coffee (this is Miami, after all!)" - Matthew Vander Werff & Ashley Melisse Abess

I’d been wanting to check out Pasta Mia for over a year, and I finally got the chance and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Mafalde pasta with chicken, and honestly, it was one of the best pastas I’ve had in South Florida. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was super tasty, and the chicken yummy. Seriously, every bite was amazing. The place itself is really nice, with a chill vibe that makes you want to hang out and enjoy your meal. The staff was friendly and made the whole experience even better. After waiting so long, I’m glad I finally went. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I’m bringing my family along. Pasta Mia is definitely a spot worth visiting!

Google
This wonderful little restaurant is such a delight. In my excitement to try as much as possible while in the area I ordered wine, an app, meal, and dessert and can confidently say they all tasted just as amazing even on day two! Service was impeccable despite how busy they were. Highly recommend making a reservation and being prepared that the place maybe a little loud based on how many people are enjoying themselves.

Google
Small spot full of energy. Amazing place, amazing food, amazing atmosphere. Pricing was fantastic for what you're getting. Perfect pasta. Definitely come here to eat or have a date night. The owner brought our food out and talked to us. She was super friendly and you can feel her enthusiasm for good food. Simply and absolutly spontaneous. Very gentle all their staff. I will definitely come again!

Google
Pasta Mia is a gem! The food is absolutely delicious, with noticeable quality in every bite. It’s a small, cute spot that feels incredibly personal—probably because the owner *is* the staff, and she’s the friendliest, most passionate person ever. You can tell this place is her labor of love. It’s truly one of the few authentic Italian restaurants in Miami, and every dish, from appetizers to dessert, is mouthwatering. Very few places impress me, but this one definitely did. Plus, they occasionally have jazz nights, which just adds to the charm!

Google
Best Italian restaurants in Miami! Carola and Gio are simply the best — the service is outstanding, and the food is absolutely AMAZING!

Google
Had such a nice date night over the past weekend at this spot in South Miami. Its a little hole in the wall run by husband and wife. The wife is Italian and you can tell how authentic the food is and how much love they put into their business. We sat outside and got to people watch which was lovely.

Carolina - (Owner of the place) ended up being our waitress. She is the best and has an amazing attitude and personality she gave us the best recommendations. We went for Valentine's Day and she made us feel so special. The food was spectacular. If you're looking for amazing authentic Italian food look no further. Thank you!!

Google
One word to describe this place: wow The owner and her husband are very involved and you will most likely meet them if you find here. If you have ever been to Italy or Europe in general this is as close as you can get. The restaurant is quaint and beautiful all at once and the food is to die for. The food is delicious, fresh, authentic and everything else you can imagine. I have had A LOT of Italian food and this place blows most out of the water. If you want delicious authentic Italian food. Pasta Mia is the way to go.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great and personal service Simple and yet great food. Not expensive for what you get. They focus on quality not quantity.

Yelp
I constantly walk past this spot and always see so many people there, so I was curious to try it myself -- and I finally did yesterday. I ordered the pesto pasta, which was okay... but we did order other dishes that were delicious! The service, however, wasn't great. No one checked in on us to ask how our food was or if we needed anything -- we were kind of forgotten once we placed our order. I understand that it's a small place with not so many workers there but it was hard to ignore when they were checking up on all the other tables and talking to them and again we were just forgotten about. We had to ask for the check after just sitting there, and it took about 5 minutes for it to be brought to us. When the server came over to charge us, she abruptly walked away in the middle of our conversation and didn't return for another 15 minutes. My plate of pasta alone was $36, including tax and automatic gratuity. I'm not sure if I'd return to this location, considering the price of the food and the way my family and I were treated while dining there.

Yelp
I don't understand the hype. After dinning here I have come to the conclusion that it always has people waiting outside bc it's so tiny, not bc the food is great. Place is very casual but pricing doesn't reflect that. $30 for a lasagna was excessive considering the ambiance. After waiting 40 minutes to be seated we were finally seated & ready to order and were told we couldn't order yet bc kitchen was backed up. So we had to wait another 10 minutes to order. Took close to 90 minutes from when we arrived until we got our food. Food ranged from okay to good. The clam pasta was the best item. Flies were all over the pasta in the kitchen that was waiting to be boiled. Gross! Waiting and waiting and being told when you can order food, crammed in and practically sitting on top of the table next to you, and being charged top dollar for this type of experience. There are dozens of other Italian restaurants I would chose over this place. Food was nothing special. I would never return.

Yelp
This place has such a fun, lively atmosphere--it's perfect for a night out with friends or a casual date. The staff is incredibly kind and attentive, and service was impressively quick. Pro tip: make a reservation--this spot gets busy, and for good reason! They start you off with complimentary bread (always a win), and the pasta? Absolutely delicious.

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday just before they were about to close. It is on Sunset. A cozy spot for pasta. The place is tiny with a few chairs. I went with the cacio e Pepe rigatoni. The pasta sauce needed more flavor. The pasta did taste fresh though. My friend enjoyed her dish. Overall decent pasta. I expected better taste though. Service was excellent. Casual vibe. Lots of families .

Yelp
Pasta Mia, is a great pasta place. Make a reservation as the place is small and on high demans. The pasta is carefully prepared and delicious. I asked for the Mafalde and it was a great experience. Enjoy with a wine! The service is atte tive and joyful.

Yelp
Pastamia is a little gem! Super cute and cozy spot with excellent service. The owner as well as the whole staff were very welcoming and made our first time here worthwhile. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the black spaghetti which was soooo flavorful and cooked perfectly as well as the rigatoni alla norma which was devine as well! Their desserts were also really yummy! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We went on a Friday night and it was packed. It's very small, so I recommend reservations. Our server was also an owner of the business. She arrives very early and makes six fresh pastas each day. We started off with an order of meatballs. There were 4 of us, and it only came with 3 big meatballs. Since hardly any tables are filled with 3 people, it seems that 4 slightly smaller meatballs would be more appropriate. So I had a half meatball, which was delicious with my bread and wine. I also split a house salad, that was rather ordinary but hit the spot. My husband got the blank ink octopus pasta. We love octopus and have had black pasta before, but never with "octopus sauce". Unfortunately I was having too much fun and his pasta was gone before I got a taste. Obs he thought it was great. Me and a friend each got the eggplant pasta. It was delicious, though I was slightly taken aback that the eggplant was in chunks instead of a parmigiana type eggplant layer. Although I would have preferred a traditional eggplant ptarmigans, the homemade pasta totally made the dish. We were all too full for dessert, and I even took some home to go. We go to South Miami often on Friday nights, so I know we'll be back.

Yelp
Highly Recommend! The Tagliolini Alfredo with shrimp was amazing. Perfectly cooked pasta with a creamy sauce and tender shrimp. The ambiance was inviting, and the service was outstanding! Very attentive and friendly. We finished with Tiramisu, which had the perfect balance of sweetness & bitterness.

Yelp
The food is AMAZING & so fresh. I had the Rigontoni Genovese pasta with the wagyu beef and it was so tender and flavorful. The pastas are made fresh in the kitchen & there are different varieties. The meatballs were good and had almost a sausage flavor. The carpaccio was a little on the salty side but still refreshing with the arugula and meat cut. Service was great & the restaurant is small and intimate. We sat outside and enjoyed the ambience of a little italian shop.

Yelp
Delightful dinner. I had the black pasta and my wife had the truffle pasta with shrimp. Both made with love and care. Food came out super fast and was served with passion. Highly recommend this establishment

Yelp
Such a cute spot to grab freshly-made pasta and a glass of wine. We chose outdoor seating, which was perfect for conversation. The pasta was delicious, yet airy and light. The eggplant was crispy and sweet, making the dish standout out. The meatballs are a must try, savory and packed with flavor. The portions were large and filling, leaving us no room for desert. Service was great, l this restaurant!

Yelp
Went there last night and we loved it. First the staff was very welcoming with great smiles on their faces. It is small so you have to have reservations and be on time. Make your reservations by phone as the computer is not always correct. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was fun. I highly recommend the spaghetti with clams. Charcuterie board was full of great meats, so save your complimentary bread if your are ordering it to make a great bite. Service was amazing. They must have checked in on us 5 tims and made sure the water bottle was always full. Family owned great "mom and pop" business we need to support.

Yelp
Wow best fresh pasta and red sauce in Miami. I have had a lot of Italian in the US and this is comparable to pasta in Italy
google avatar

Yelp
The food was amazing. I had the special of the day, which was a lasagna with eggplant in it. The tiramisu was probably one of the best ones I've had, I usually don't like tiramisu, but I would get this one again! The service was great, everyone was very friendly and we got seated quickly. Carolina is especially a gem! She is very kind and helpful. The place itself is a cute little spot for a date. I will definitely be going back and recommending this place!!

Yelp
This place is always my favorite go-to when I'm seeing a movie at the theatre nearby. Small, cozy, very simple and delicious pasta here. Personal favorites are the tuna tartare paired with the spaghetti aglio e olio or with the cacio e pepe. Service is delightful as always as well. Always take the bread and olive oil if they offer it. Only thing I would not recommend is the mafalde.

Yelp
It was a beautiful night in South Miami when I decided to finally try the Italian place that had been on my mind for a while. And I am so glad I did. It immediately caught my eye of how everything had a color theme- yellow! I found that to be clever since yellow is what we associate with pasta and cheese. Anyways, one of my favorite things was probably how it was so cozy. It was one of those places where everyone sat close so you instantly made a connection with the people next to you. Some people may not like that but I loved it. We made exchanges with the nice people next to us and it really felt like a home. The owner was greeting everyone who sat down, asking if everything was ok. And it was refreshing that she was actually from Italy! She was very social and caring for all the customers. The food was just amazing. Even the bread that you get in the beginning is airy and served with EVOO. I was obsessed. I had the Caserecce al Pesto while my dad had the Spinach shells. The food was made a few feet away so we could actually see the dishes being made. Everything was fresh. We then had the cannoli and tiramisu for dessert. I was picky about cannoli since I had a bad experience in Colorado once, but this once was amazing. It had a crispy but not hard shell, with a light yet rich cream on the inside. My died couldn't stop eating the tiramisu. We came out feeling satisfied but not overfilled.

Yelp
The homemade pasta was delicious! The cacio y pepe with guanciale was everything I'd hoped it would be. The pasta tasted fresh and had just the right amount of creamy, peppery sauce to give a little extra coating but not have the noodles swimming in it. Our server recommended that I add the guanciale, and I'm so glad that I did. It was rich and crispy, providing more flavor and texture to the dish. My friend had the red beet caserecce, which tasted fresh and brought a good portion. We'd also shared the tuna tartare, which was soft and light. The servers were attentive and checked on us often. I'd recommend for the fresh pasta and relaxed ambience!

Yelp
Came here with my fiancé and the food wine and dessert was phenomenal. My fiancé is from Rome Italy and he was blown away by the quality of the food and the freshness of the pasta. The service of the owner made us feel like we were part of her family, beyond attentive and sweet. We highly recommend this restraunt. The ambiance is very romantic and pleasant. You will not regret dinning here .

Yelp
I don't like to write reviews because I don't like the confrontation. However, when I feel wronged I will voice my opinion. I believe you are either absent minded or just a racist. I know you are a liar. When I was waiting you sat 3 parties before you dragged my wrist into the middle of the restaurant and stood me in the middle. You sat a party of four which you later explained that they had a reservation which I understood, but you sat at the party of three who clearly came up and said "we are a party of three." after me. you also sat the party of two who came after me and they also said they would like a seat for 2. You also sat those two before the colored couple who came back after you told them to come back after 30 mins. Which I was there even before them. After I was stood in the middle of the restaurant like I was an idiot. I started walking out. And the two white ladies behind me were already sat before me or the colored couple who came behind me but before the 2 white ladies. When I lost my cool is when I told you sat 4 teams ahead of me and you said "I'm loosing my patience." And you proceeded to say they were all reservations when I know it was not true. You may not care but will I not recommend anyone to your establishment.

Yelp
An absolute gem of a place. Their food might be the best in the area, and the staff treats you life family. The space is a little tight, but only makes it feel more like home.

Yelp
Pasta Mia is a great restaurant that feels more like a home. Fresh Pasta and very good sauces and toppings to go with it. I think this restaurant will soon become one of my go-to places in Miami. Affordable and delicious. The service is friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Was really hoping to find a nice pasta place in south Miami but Salty, not the freshest , a disappointment overall

Sofia D.

Yelp
. Love the place and 100%recommend, however should reserve and be open to waiting a bit as it is usually packed and as the place is small. However the service and experience eating there is a 10/10 and truly Italian with fresh pasta. Love Pastamia and highly recommend if you're in the area
google avatar

Yelp
A small. wonderful, and charming gem tucked next to Sunset Place. The pasta was delicious and reasonably priced compared to other Italian restaurants. I had had the carbonara pasta and the Cacho Pepe. Both were delicious. My wife's spinach fussilli pasta was excellent. My wife and I shared the tiramisu dessert which was astounding. We highly recommend the Truffle Croquettes. The staff was attentive and brought our food quickly.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance gives a nice authentic Italian feel. The food was very bland and not worth the price.
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Incredible service, food and atmosphere. The owner welcomes all with open arms and seems like such a ray of sunshine. The pasta is made in house and feels authentic as it is Italian owned! I highly recommend. Make sure to get the tiramisu!!

MarthA G.

Yelp
Not true authentic, food was not that great for the price. I am not sure I will return to this restaurant.
google avatar

Anna M.

Yelp
Even though this place is small and quaint, it gets packed! Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that we sat outside because it looked cramped inside. The interior is so cute and I think they also make the pasta homemade. I ordered the ragu dish and my friends ordered the Alfredo and cacio e Pepe. I liked their dishes more than mine but I still ate everything. I liked the place but it felt really slow, and I left feeling hungry for the price that I paid for my dish. I also didn't appreciate the lack of transparency on our waiters end when he split the check and failed to tell us gratuity was already included. The screen didn't break up the bill so it just showed the total and the tip option.

Thomas P.

Yelp
AMAZING!!! Absolutely loved this place! Have walked by it so many times and finally decided to try and so glad we did!! They are the sweetest people and such authentic handmade Italian pasta. Finding good gf pasta is not easy but I'm so glad I found my new go to place! We also had the special and it was unreal, definitely recommend!!!

Ricardo S.

Yelp
Food was outstanding Rapid service The place is packed with people waiting Will definitely come back

John G.

Yelp
Had a great meal with great service tonight. This place is a little Gem. Family owned and run they serve authentic Italian food that's worth going out for.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent. Fresh pasta cooked just right. The chocolate mousse was dense and creamy. The decor and service were great. Looking forward to next time.
google avatar

Rich D.

Yelp
This little place was awesome!!! They probably only have about a dozen tables so make a reservation if you can as it will help you get seated faster. We didn't have a reservation but they sat us pretty quickly. All of our food was great especially the chocolate mouse. The staff treated everyone like family. It is a VERY well run, very reasonably priced place. The table next to us said there are always people waiting outside for a table, which is a sign of how good things are, especially in an area with LOTS of places to eat.
google avatar

Keysi J.

Yelp
This little pasta spot in south Miami was soooo yummy and so cute! The staff was beyond friendly and recommended us lots of plates to try. All the pasta is FRESH, and wow you can taste that difference. It was a great experience, if you're in south Miami this is a great spot to try

Yelp
The food was great and ambience made my husband and I feel like we were back in one of those wonderful mom-and-pop places in Italy. Delicious!

Alberto A.

Yelp
Great little place. Authentic Italian, fantastic pasta! I haven't had the pleasure or opportunity to eat at the restaurant itself, but have picked up food to go, that I ordered and it was wonderful. I can only imagine the experience if eating there is even better. Would highly recommend their great neighborhood place.
google avatar

Alicia S.

Yelp
Pasta Mía is excellent! The staff are all so warm, the pasta was absolutely delicious. I've never been to Italy however to me, this place provides the authenticity in flavor, perfect portions and home-like atmosphere that one could expect in Italy. The food came out so fast and tasted so good. I look forward to returning and enjoying more dishes from their simplified menu.
google avatar

Rachel P.

Yelp
So quaint and cozy! Ambiance was definitely cute. A very small spot so make sure to make reservations or at least call before going to confirm there's room. Pasta was good! Very small portions, but tasted good. Worth a try!

Ed R.

Yelp
A hidden gem, family run place and if you blink you'll miss it. It was recommended by some friends so we decided to try it. The owner, hostess , waitress all of the above was amazing and friendly. It is a perfect little place as it reminds me of restaurants that we've eaten in Italy. You have to make reservations or else it's potluck getting a table. We ordered multiplied items from the menu and they have specials . All the items were just authentic flavor made from scratch. Great place for small group or a romantic dinner for two.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Words can't even describe how incredible this restaurant was. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. The food came out so quickly, and the ambiance of the restaurant was delightful. We sat outside and it was perfect. I would recommend anyone to come visit PastaMia!! 11/10 Experience. Make sure you try the Pesto and the Tiramisu. Everything was sooo fresh!

Melissa C.

Yelp
We had such a good time over the weekend for date night at this hole in the wall thats run by a husband and wife. The wife is italian and it is reflected by the authenticity of the food. The service was great and the food was delicious. We sat outside and got to people watch which is always a fun way to spend the night.

Angela V.

Yelp
Friendly staff, delicious food, overall great experience. Small, locally owned restaurant with the sweetest owners. This place definitely feels like a community treasure.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant late afternoon last Sunday. All the tables were reserved for dinner but the host/owner accomodated me and my son to dine inside. After ordering, we were promptly served warm bread, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread were so good and I like the black one that was made with olives if I am not mistaken. Whad the meatballs for appetizer, it was very good and tasty. Tagliatelle al Ragu for dinner, it was delicious, good portion and presentation, and the freshly made pasta was cooked perfectly. It was filling but I want to try their special Tiramisu so I ordered 1 for dessert. It was inside this jar and you'll have fun eating it, it was so good! This restaurant is a hidden gem this side of town, the owners were very friendly and the staff were amazing as well. I would like to try their other dishes in the near future!
google avatar

Kora B.

Yelp
Such a cute little place. The service was great and our waiter was very friendly. The food took a little long to come out, but tasted amazing. Their portions are a little small, but I found that it was the perfect amount of food that I needed at the time.

Yelp
On my recent summertime visit, we sat outside on the sidewalk. A narrow space inside, but enough seating for maybe 8-10 persons, the kitchen was exposed and busy. First time there, but recommended by friends, I always tend to try Lasagna at any Italian/noodle place. So the thing is here they hand make all their noodles. The Lasanga was cut a bit narrow/slim. There was no sauce underneath and no option to add grated cheese on top. I went in anyway and enjoyed the food because I love lasagna, even though this one is a little different.

Emma L.

Yelp
Amazing pasta and wine and even better service! Super busy on a Wednesday night but no problem if you have a reservation.

Ashley S.

Yelp
Cute hidden gem in South Miami. Delicious, fresh pasta. We tried the rigatoni alla genovese and cacio e Pepe with spaghetti. We also tried the truffle croquettes and beef carpaccio. The owner was very sweet and came up to the table and even waited on us. The only reason for my 4 star rating is because the spaghetti was undercooked, not al dente, just undercooked. I'd definitely come back and give them another chance. I recommend making a reservation as space is limited.
