Verona, Italy, Travel Guide

"Run by two brothers, this beloved pasticceria updates traditional recipes with modern flair—think delicious cakes, pastries, and rainbow-hued macarons—and for a local specialty, ask for the torta russa, a Veronese cake of puff pastry filled with almonds, amaretti, and eggs; there are several locations, including one on busy Corso Porta Borsari." - Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz is a writer and editor based in Rome. This Hidden Gem in Northern Italy Is Called 'Little Rome'

"A modern pastry shop run by two brothers that reinvents traditional recipes into colorful cakes, pastries, and macarons; try the local specialty torta russa, a Veronese puff‑pastry cake filled with almonds, amaretti, and eggs—locations include one on the busy Corso Porta Borsari." - Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz is a writer and editor based in Rome. Google
They have many different types of desserts, including brioche, croissants, macarons, tartlets, entremets and cannoli. I tried the cannoli and one croissant, and they were amazing. The cannoli filling was stracciatella, and I think it was the best cannoli I have ever eaten. It was a really great experience, and if you are travelling to Verona, you must definitely visit this place.

Charming patisserie with nice selection of macaroons, coffees and teas. Very friendly service. Plentiful seating is available inside and some seats are available outside as well.

Don’t go to this place. If you want to get cut in the line, even after you told them you came here the first, the young lady here would serve you but with a very bad attitude, she did not even start the payment with me, instead, she kept on doing her own stuff and let you still wait for the customers after you doing the payment. Shame on her. And the croissant is super dry, said it was pistachio flavor, but no taste of it tbh

Google
🚨🚨🚨 We ordered a chocolate dessert and specifically asked if it contained nuts because my partner has a nut allergy. We were told it did not. After eating it, we realized it was actually full of nuts. Thankfully, his allergy is mild, but this could have been very dangerous. We informed the manager, but neither she nor the waitress apologized. Instead, we were told that we should have checked directly with the manager ourselves. All staff should be aware of allergens, as misinformation like this puts customers’ lives at risk. This was a very disappointing and unsafe experience

Google
High quality baked goods with beautiful presentation and superb service. We visited after passing this shop a few times on our visit to Verona and were absorbed by the exquisite presentation of this welcoming store. Not only is there so many delicious, delightful items to grab you attention the taste of them is superb. When you purchase anything to takeaway the staff carefully package the items in an immaculate box with gold lettering. Staff are friendly, speak English and very professional, patient, and caring under pressure. This is an extremely busy shop with lots of custom; but not overwhelming for customers.

Google
Wonderful Italian coffee shop. They serve all the sophisticated coffees you could want. The pastries are all fresh and wonderful. It’s not my thing to eat pastries for breakfast, but when in Verano… no choice. Delicious but missed the protein!

There are many macaron flavors to choose from, but the ones I tried were quite sweet. The atmosphere in the shop is nice, though there aren’t many tables

Yelp
Im in USA and I ordered treats to be delivered on a certain day for my daughter who lives in Verona. They arrived right on time and the flavors were delicious! I can't wait to visit in person when we visit.

Yelp
Final stop on our fabulous food tour from Do Eat Better Verona https://www.yelp.com/biz/do-eat-better-verona-verona?hrid=OrfXfmvA4-aK5ZbGOZGFfw, this was dessert and a learning experience. Tons of amazing looking pastries in the counter. Chocolates, cheesecakes and more. We skipped over all of that and sat in the back where we had Verona's equivalent of Lisbon's "Pastel de nata" except these are made with a short grain rice called "nano." They love their rice in Verona! With the "Risino" pastries, we also enjoyed coffee. And this espresso was super charged. I shouldn't have gotten a caffeinated drink this late in the afternoon because I was ready to go for the rest of the day and into the evening. Lots of terrific desserts and coffees here. Neat spot with a comfortable rear dining room. Well worth a return. [Review 16991 overall - 196 in Italy - 507 of 2022.]

Yelp
A cool oasis in Verona s summer heat, Flego Pasticceria is stylish, air conditioned and welcoming. Great selection of sophisticated cakes from Macaroons in every flavour to fresh fruit mini flans, traditional almond meal yummies or even a chocolate Italian version of Sachertorte! Great coffee but also for tea gourmets a wonderful Dr Stuart 's teas served in white china teapots..deducted one star for service..just one waiter , had to chase him to pay when it came time to go
