When visiting Monreale with public transport, take the AST bus from Via Calatafimi (at the moment the 389 bus is suspended). Beforehand, take a detour to two nearby pastry shops, Cappello and Massaro. Their setteveli, seven-layer cakes, are insane.
A place for locals from what I could see. Self service. Very good food 🥘 at very good prices. I had lasagna and pasta. Big portions 5 euro each. I recommend this place ☺️

Highly recommended! They have the best cannoli in Palermo and all of their other pastries are freshly bake. You can choose a lot of pastry varieties, panini and others.

Stopped by for a quick snack and coffee. They have mini versions of Italian desserts, so it's perfect if you want to try out a lot of things! Paid only €1,80 for 2 mini desserts and €1 for an espresso. It was very delicious! The staff was nice as well. Definitely recommend.

Super authentic cafeteria experience in the adjacent restaurant. Had a big veal schnitzel with an Italian potato salad all for 7 euro. Highly recommend!

Nice resto for breakfast and lunch, staffs are friendly and very welcome. Even their don’t speak English fluently, they tried their best effort to do it.
Prices are extremely friendly and competitive, have a cup of expresso or hot chocolate with croissants may be a good choice for breakfast.
To have lunch with local taste such as pasta and steak also recommended here.
A glass of tap water is for free. You can ask as many glass as you wish, they will be glad to serve you.
You can also buy bus tickets in the cashier.
Definitely will back here again.

Key Pasticceria which is currently hidden behind a tall wall as they are doing roadwork. Trust me, it's there, don't give up. Great pastries, when you try the sette veli, do try and eat all 7 veils at once, or you shall be judged harshly

Sweets are good, service is weird, you need to go through multiple steps before you buy something (one person to order sweets, one to order drinks, one to pay, back to the other two to pick up things after paying). Some local thing apparently
