Pasticceria Rocco is a pretty historic Italian bakery with a huge variety of affordable sweets for both take-out and dining in - cookies, cakes, eclairs, cannolis, you name it. They even have mini options of some of their items for an especially cheap small bite if you're full after a meal, which are super cute. If you choose to sit in, a server will bring you a menu and bring your order to you. It's a similar spot to Veniero's across town, though not quite as elegant in ambience.
I got a cannoli and a hot chocolate, both of which were solid. The cannoli was good but didn't stand out to me compared to other cannolis I've had, which were admittedly also at well-known Italian bakeries in other cities, so maybe they all just do it well.
I have to knock off a star because, based on their Instagram page, this place developed some pretty wacky political opinions and an aversion to public health measures about a year ago. Not sure if they got hacked, hired some freewheeling social media person, or really hold those beliefs, but I hope they don't treat other health and safety regulations with such disregard as a place that serves food. I'm just glad I didn't visit at an earlier time when the risk of getting seriously ill from COVID was much higher.
