Turin, Italy, Travel Guide

Turin, Italy Travel Guide

"The history of Pastificio Defilippis begins in 1872, when the chef of the House of Savoy, Domenico Toso, comes back to Turin and opens his laboratory," De Bonis says, noting that this is the place to try agnolotti, a kind of filled pasta typical of Piedmont. Today it is also a restaurant and continues to prepare a wide range of fresh egg pasta, classic or stuffed, using selected ingredients and high-quality, seasonal raw materials." - Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz Laura Itzkowitz is a writer and editor based in Rome. Google
The pasta here is delicious, as well as the service provided, I have nothing to complain about this place. Everything was great and smooth. I also tried their tiramisù which blew my mind. I recommend this restaurant with all my heart!

Google
Simply great pasta and well organised service in a nice location. We sat outside and enjoyed the city life while having a small lunch. You can definitely get a snack or more here and enjoy the best side of Italian cuisine.

Google
We had grilled vegetables with mozzarella and red pasta with bacon. It was very delicious. I wanted to order a tiramisu, but I was too full. I saw other people having it, and it looked very tasty.

Google
This place was enthusiastically recommended to me by a guest staying at the same hotel as me. I had the Tajarin with shrimp tartare - all I can say is thank you for the recommendation - it was AMAZING! Best meal I had in Turin ❤️

Google
Enjoyed a great dinner with attentive friendly service. Sat outside. Reservation is recommended, we got lucky to get a table.

Google
5.0 A terrific spot in central Turin. All homemade pastas. Excellent all around. We started with a warm asparagus salad with egg and cheese. It was so well executed. We then each had a pasta; tajarin with duck ragu and a plin stuffed to the gills with sausage and drenched in butter and marjoram. Simple, yet so well done. The service was knowledgeable without being intrusive. The wine list is extensive. I had a great barbera. Highly recommend and we will be back

Google

Google
Pasta is so so, I don’t know why this this place has high rating. So surprising for me as we expected more from Italian trattoria for sure. Not recommending this place at all. Such a simple choice for August which is a high season and no seafood no fish pasta.

Yelp
Delicious! I do recommend you have a reservation or arrive right when they open (like we did) so they can seat you in the area they seat people without reservations. I loved the meals. We started with the MANTOVA PUMPKIN FLAN WITH SCALLOP AND SHRIMP RAGOUT. It was light and well flavored. The BOLOGNESE TORTELLINI WITH CREAM, HAM AND PEAS was probably my favorite. The MEZZI PACCHERI PASTA WITH CHEESE AND PEPPER CREAM AND LEMON ZEST was a close second. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauces were creamy and delicious. Because I felt as if I need some type of protein with the MEZZI paccheri pasta, we also ordered the SLICED BEEF TENDERLOIN WITH AROMATIC HERBS AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR REDUCTION. Everything was so good. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance. Borolo! Great pastas. The best people-watching. Italian men can teach American men about how to dress and carry themselves.

Yelp
The pastas are amazing at the restaurant. It is a great option in the center of Turin. We liked it so much we came for dinner twice and lunch once during out 4 days in Turin

Yelp
Horrible service. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to come to take our order. No one came. We had to walk out

Yelp
Very good pasta and salad abs service. Great ambiance. Wine pairing was very well. We made reservations earlier in the day and now were tired but we decided to go anyway. We ordered a salad : the table ground pepper was so fresh and strong that along with the great oil and balsamic we had a refreshing salad! Then we had the artichoke fondue with was very delicious. Next, she had the Ragu pasta and I had the veal cheek. Wow, was this a great combo shared. As well , we each had a different regional red wine style that paired well with the meal. So we each had a 2nd glass. Great place . We will be back!

Yelp
Phenomenal food and good service! Everything we had was really fresh and super simple.

Yelp
Excellent food. I had a small salad and ravioli. The pasta was ver unique with flavors that I don't usually find. Wine was outstanding as well. Service very quick and polite.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for pasta in Torino. Been coming here annually for last six years and it's never disappoints. Pasta is so fresh you can taste the egg and always prepared with the freshest (and simplest) on ingredients. Staff is warm, friendly, and engaging, and always happy to give suggestions.

Yelp
Most rude service from a waiter I have received while traveling in Italy. Unfortunately, won't return for this reason. The food was good.

Paul T.

Yelp
This restaurant serves the pasta that they make there, for me that counts as a good thing, specially when the pasta is good. The flavors are fresh and much different from what you are used to in the US. I had the eggplant appetizer, the fish ravioli and the trofie pasta with anchovies, green beans and Spanish moss. All delicious, I like fish so I enjoyed it but there are other varieties which include dishes without fish. The price is right for what you get and I am so thankful of how Italians offer reasonable prices for wine bottles that allow you to have a bottle with every meal without breaking the bank. If the weather is nice you can eat on one of the outside tables.

Yelp
We just had a fantastic meal here my salmon was cooked to perfection and my husband's seafood and pasta dinner was amazing with very generous portions of seafood and the pasta and sauce was exceptional. Then we had tiramisu and peaches filled with chocolate for our desserts both of which were fantastic we would highly recommend this restaurant best known for it's pasta which was wonderful! The service was very friendly and fast but make a reservation as it is usually pretty fully booked ahead. Enjoy
