A Review of The Hoxton, Edinburgh | Hotels Above Par

"Buzzing from brunch through dinner inside the hotel, this vibe‑y modern Italian trattoria keeps good food and drinks front and center; when I grew weary of traditional Scottish fare, the haggis and nduja pizza—with rocket, jalapeño, fior di latte, and hot honey—hit the spot and might just convert a few taste buds." - Lindsay Cohn

One of the best Italians we have had outside of Italy! Truly sensational food hard to fault at all. What a great little place. From the decor to the food it was almost perfect! The only thing we would say is that the dessert menu could have a few more options… but the ones we did settle on were great! A little trouble finding the actual place, we did not realise it was inside the Hoxton, so after a few trips past the front door we finally found it & so glad we did. We booked but were quite surprised at how quiet it actually was all evening. Such a great experience & would return just for that gnocchi!! More on the expensive side however, the food does the prices justice & if you’re after that special night out treat then this is the one. Great place!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A true taste of the Amalfi Coast right here in Edinburgh Having lived in Edinburgh all my life and spent time along the Amalfi Coast, I can honestly say Patatino captures the essence of southern Italy perfectly. From the moment you step inside, you’re met with that unmistakable warmth and charm that transports you straight to the coast — lemon groves, sea breeze and all. The food is exceptional — beautifully fresh, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with care. Every dish has that balance of simplicity and finesse that defines real Italian cooking. The seafood is outstanding, the pasta is faultless, and the Amalfi-inspired touches make it truly special. Service is equally impressive — attentive without ever feeling rushed, and genuinely friendly in a way that makes you feel like a regular from your first visit. Having experienced both Edinburgh’s dining scene and authentic Amalfi hospitality, I have no hesitation in recommending this fantastic restaurant. Patatino is the real deal — a little slice of the Italian coast nestled right here in the heart of the city. 🇮🇹✨

Patatino was an unexpected surprise. This little Italian trattoria at The Hoxton Edinburgh serves delicious food, combining Italian classics with a brilliant Scottish touch. The pizza with Haggis and 'Nduja is a must-to-try! The dimmed lights and the restaurant design creates a magical atmosphere. The place is buzzing and the service is attentive and felt really genuine. Iwona took care of our table and her service was impeccable. She gave recommendations and made us feel at ease and home since the first moment we entered Patatino (thank you!). Highly recommended and would definitely come back!

We stopped in for lunch yesterday on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious and the staff were all quite friendly. Restaurant wasn't super busy but it was lunch time on a windy Sunday. The meatball pasta and cacio pepe were delicious! We had lemon sorbet and tiramisu which was also nice. We would return. Keep up the good work.

Very special decorated place. A nice vibe. The staff was super friendly. I ate a pasta with porc cheeks and was pleasantly surpised with the combination and the ingredients. At the end we recieved a postcard, stickers and matches.

Had the best experience at Patatino! Everything was 10/10, the food, the vibes, the service. Big shout out to Sam (Samuel) for being the most friendly and charismatic server and of course Francesco too! The wine, cocktails and food were so tasty. Can't wait to come back 🍷❤️

Absolutely the best place to eat in Edinburgh! From the Chefs, Bartender, to the OUTSTANDING customer service given by my server Alex, this is a must go spot. I would have eaten here everyday for my holiday if I had found it earlier. Next time I am in Edinburgh I will be staying at the Hoxton Hotel because of the quality food and service! Thank you guys!!!

We went there for dinner. The restaurant is really nice and the service was really good! The food was nice but wasn't "mindblowing". Would come back :-)
