Pathans Restaurant is one of the busiest places, especially during breakfast and lunch hours. The restaurant is well-known for its authentic Kerala-style lunch, and many people prefer it for its vegetarian meals with proper side curries. However, the overall atmosphere during peak hours is chaotic, and it feels more like a business-driven setup rather than a customer-friendly experience. The dining space is often overcrowded, and finding a comfortable seat can be difficult.
During my visit for breakfast, I faced an issue with seating. Initially, a staff member suggested we adjust with another person who was already eating, which I found inappropriate. After refusing, they eventually arranged another place for us. The staff seemed to be in a rush, and their behavior lacked the politeness one expects in a good restaurant.
𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞
For breakfast, I ordered Masala Dosa, Poori Masala, and an Idli set.
𝐈𝐝𝐥𝐢: I personally prefer my idlis to be soft and fluffy, but the ones I had here felt harder than expected, which was a disappointment for me. However, taste preferences vary from person to person.
𝗣𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮: The poori did not meet my expectations, as the texture and taste were not satisfying.
𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗼𝘀𝗮: The best dish among the three! The dosa was crisp, with a well-balanced masala filling, and the sambar was also good.
When comparing the price with other well-known restaurants like 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐔𝐝𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧, I felt that the taste and service here did not justify the price. At a similar or even lower price, these places offer much better quality and taste.
𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 & 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫
One major drawback of Pathans Restaurant is the service and staff attitude. The staff members seem to be always in a hurry and do not treat customers with the expected level of politeness. During my visit, I found their behavior to be rude and unprofessional. When I enquired about the A/C not being cool enough, the response was quite harsh—they simply said it was not working and that they could do nothing about it. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in a restaurant of this standard.
𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 & 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
Despite the issues with staff behavior, I noticed that the place was maintained clean, and the wash area was also kept tidy. However, the rooms could have been cleaner, and the overall hygiene standards should be improved.
𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲!
The parking space is very congested, making it difficult for cars to be parked properly. However, the parking attendant was polite and helpful, which was a positive aspect.
𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐲 (Ground Floor)
One of the good things about this place is Pathans Bakery, located on the ground floor. The bakery offers a variety of sweets and other snacks, which are quite good in quality and worth trying.

Would I Recommend It?
If you are looking for an authentic Kerala-style vegetarian lunch, this place might be a good option. However, for breakfast, I would not recommend it due to the quality, pricing, and service issues. There are better restaurants in the same price range offering superior taste and service. Also, if you value polite and professional customer service, this place might disappoint you.
