We recently visited Patiala House with our family of five after watching their TikTok videos. Since we live in Whitby, we traveled all the way to Brampton especially to try this place, so we were quite excited for our first visit.
We reached around 12:30 PM and placed our order by 12:40 PM, keema kulcha with gravy, six mix parathas with dahi and chana, and gud tea. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. It took almost an hour for the first dish to arrive, and even then, nothing was served together. The first item that came was the keema kulcha with gravy, and sadly, it was very disappointing because there was a hair inside it. I noticed it in the very first bite I was about to take. I immediately called the staff and asked them to replace it. They quietly took the plate without saying much at that moment and I was like they did not even apologize or say something which further disappointed me. I told my husband to leave as I was not at comfortable and when we were discussing the other stuff started coming, so , my husband told me to give them a chance and let see what happens.
After about 10-minute intervals, the mix parathas started arriving one by one. Thankfully, they were better and my kids enjoyed them, which was a small relief. At least we felt that maybe coming all this way was not a complete mistake.
Around 15–20 minutes later, a lady came to apologize for the hair issue. She mentioned that everyone in the kitchen wears hair caps and they were unsure how it happened. I appreciated her apology and told her that I understand mistakes can happen but I could have appreciated it more when it would have came the time it happened.
Additionally, after that incident, I was not comfortable eating. I completely lost my appetite. When something like that happens, it naturally makes you second-guess the hygiene standards, even if the rest of the food tastes fine.
The food overall was decent, and it was served hot, but the wait time was just too long. We were literally joking among ourselves that maybe we would get the food by evening. The gud tea was okayish — it tasted like it was made with milk powder rather than fresh milk, which reduced the authentic flavor.
I am not writing this to spread negativity or out of any personal issue. I genuinely want to share constructive feedback. Health and safety are extremely important in the food industry. Even small lapses can impact a customer’s trust and comfort. I would strongly recommend improving service speed and being extra careful with hygiene practices to ensure customers feel confident and safe while dining.
Patiala House has potential, but attention to customer service, food safety, and overall dining experience would make a big difference.
Hope this feedback is taken positively and used for improvement.
