Patina Steak Newlands

As always, Patina hit all the right spots! Got a last minute invite to a work dinner and there was no way I was saying no. Prawns and the Calamari Risotto was ordered for the table as starters. It was my first time trying the Risotto and it was fantastic! I had the steak for a main and Patina definitely still makes the best steak in Cape Town that I've had. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, tender, just everything you want in a steak. Definitely highly recommended to anyone looking for a steak place. The decor is classy and comfy, the music selection is nice for atmosphere and is at the perfect volume that it doesn't disrupt conversation. Will definitely be back to try more things and do a better job of capturing images and video.

Patina Steak was amazing! The food and service were top-notch. Our waiter TK (Takudzwa) was excellent and super helpful with his suggestions. Seriously, a great night and experience all around.

Delicious eating experience for everyone, and a delightful and unexpected birthday surprise too. Botany bar is close by for pre-drinks. Creamery is close by for ice-cream, if you want a change of scenery but the desert, looked was worth staying for.

One of the best steak houses I have been to in a long time! We ordered a variety of items to try a few things and each of them were perfection. I would only say that I wish they had a blue cheese sauce option 😃 Highly recommend!

Firstly, we had a great meal here. However there seemed to be an ongoing staff meeting and when it ended the waitresses left begrudgingly, they continued arguing right next to our table afterwards. It was really uncomfortable and made the whole environment tense when they could have addressed their issues anywhere but on the floor. Secondly we paid our bill in full with a tip. Our waitor, AJ, came back with an extremely rude and condescending tone. Stating that we do not know how to tip. We tipped what we felt matched the service which was more than enough. I understand restaurants are entitled to setting their own gratuity rates but these are not supposed to be imposed on patrons and absolutely not in the manner that we were addressed. Lastly, we were notified that we could/ had to move to the Botany bar because there was a reservation for our table in the next 10 minutes or so. We were told the table was available upon arrival so the last minute change, followed by the distasteful attitude of our waitor was far from appreciated. The food was amazing, the service? Subpar We could not even hear ourselves over the arguing.

The BEST steaks and service from Ntombi!! 10/10. I offered the surf & turf. The filler was buttery soft and the kitchen was able to accommodate my dietary needs.

Fantastic steaks, such a good value for money (2 steaks, 4 sides, carafe of wine + water came up to ZAR850). Definitely worth a visit!

Came for the Monday/Tuesday 2 or 3 course promotion.....word of advice, come hungry!!! The food portions were generous and all 3 my choices were delicious. Our waitress, Hilda, was friendly and competent, and I especially liked that the manager, Werner, came to check on us on more than one occasion. We'll definitely be back.
