Why This Underrated Region of Argentina Deserves More Attention, According to a Travel Advisor

"A resort in the wine town of Cafayate that blends colonial charm with modern luxury, offering comfortable accommodations amid a celebrated high-altitude wine region and serving as a convenient base for vineyard visits and local gastronomy." - Carola Fresno

Cafayate in Argentina Is the Wine Town You Need to Visit Now - AFAR

"An upscale, antique-filled 32-room wine hotel located about a mile outside of town next to a winery, offering wine-focused relaxation such as sipping by the pool and a complimentary sparkling wine service each afternoon." - Ari Bendersky

Very nice property, but about a 20 minute walk to not town. WiFi is hit and miss in some rooms. Connected to a winery. We had a tasting and tour that was great. Beautiful property and pool. Rooms are rustic but very comfortable. Good breakfast selection.

Grossly overcharged by booking.com when hotel had a May-June promo for almost half the price advertised all over the lobby. Not worth $430 CAD per night in winter when one can't use the pool, no smart TV and very basic amenities. Very disappointing.

The welcome was weird. There was a couple checking in but about 4 staff lined up and just stared at us, so we just sat down and waited until someone approached us. Other hotels asked what time we are arriving so they can greet us with a drink of our choice. After that, everything was wonderful! The free wine tasting was scant and they shouldn't probably say 3 glasses when it's more like a few tbsp lol. But 7 o'clock wine was nice. The grounds and rooms are remarkable. Staff are very nice. Breakfast and dinner was great. I loved how many birds sing in the morning, it was lovely in the gardens. The pool is nice with the mountain view. I wish we could stay longer. It would be nice to have tea in the room. I love the water refill station and wished they would serve regular water with dinner. Plastic is terrible for the environment and looks cheap.

This was a perfect luxury break after a few days out of town. We had a suite which was ridiculously spacious and with a nice balcony with view of the pool and the mountains. The pool itself was lovely. Dinner was excellent. Hotel guests have a discount on the vineyard next door - we did a very good wine tasting there. All in all, an excellent place to chill out for a day.

It is difficult to describe just how beautiful this place is, from the white adobe walls contrasting with the dark wood beans and hanging bougainvillea, to the lovely lobby with large windows looking out on a spectacular pool. The Pool is surrounded by grape covered arbors and is visited by many beautiful birds that walk across the lush green lawns edged by lavender. Service is wonderful with friendly accommodating staff, and they serve Limonada each afternoon, followed by a wine hour. The dining is alfresco, looking out over the beautiful property and serves a fantastic array of regionally inspired dishes, and wine pairings from the bodega. Or room was VERY large and although the bathrooms weren’t recently updated, they were very clean and well set up-we even had two showers. We loved the wine tour and also had a chance to go on a fantastic hike in the nearby mountains. Definitely a great stay!

Highly recommended as a special treat by our Argentinian family and friends - and rightly so. Beautiful hotel in a great spot - and I loved my 3 mile morning walks through the estate. Quiet luxurious and huge rooms, plus lovely relaxed restaurant. Perfect breakfasts then tostadas, empanadas and patata fritas with a glass of wine by the pool for lunch. And definitely don't miss the spectacular 3 hour drive to Salta.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Patios de Cafayate. The setting, gastronomy and staff were all incredible. We would go back in a heart beat!

I’m writing this review after my third stay at this hotel. It really takes a lot of the management to make sure the level of service stays on top over the years. Unfortunately Patios have lost their edge. The building, rooms and garden are charming and fantastic. On the flipside, the breakfast offering has been identical for years. The coffee is dark hot water, and the coffee machine has not been cleaned for years, as specialty coffee has this unmistakable uncleaned machine flavor.. The lunch and dinner menus have stayed the same, just the portions have shrunk and the price has increased. The service staff could use some training. Getting service in the pool area can be a challenge. Only one small water bottle offered per person during the stay.. A hotel considering themselves high-end can do better.. it does not cost a fortune. WiFi is stalling in the evenings when people get online. Comeon, you consider yourselves a luxury hotel.. there’s Starlink these days! If the staff shapes up, it will again be a location for unforgettable stay!

Yelp
We are staying here at the hotel and had dinner last night. This is a first class restaurant. The food was good and so was the service. It's a quiet place, except later on after people have had a few drinks. Leave the kids at home. While this place is family friendly, it's more of a romantic spot. I would eat here again.
