The Patios de Cafayate Hotel is in the grounds of Bodega El Esteco, on of the oldest and best wine producers in this area. The arrival is down a long drive that passes through the vines growing on either side. The hotel main building is a period property and has a grandeur of its own.||It is some distance outside of Cafayate.||The reception is in a large sitting room, where the receptionist sits behind a glass screen, that clearly goes back to the days of Covid.||The staff were all friendly and helpful. When we checked in we were offered a free tour of the bodega the next morning. Unfortunately we had already been booked on a tour of another bodega, so worth bearing this in mind.||On the evening we arrived there was a pre-dinner wine tasting of one of their wines, which was lovely. ||The dinner itself was very good, with clearly a creative cook. The food was both tasty, well-presented and quite original.||Our room, one the ground floor was to be found down a long corridor and across a courtyard. It was of a good size with tasteful furniture. We had a view over the gardens. The bed was comfortable. The air-conditioning was quite and efficient, whether heating or cooling the room. The shower had a good pressure. There were sufficient sockets for guests to use to charge devices. When the wifi was working it did not reach our room.||While we were there they had problems providing a wifi service to guests. In the end they let me use the employees wifi, which had no problems.||There are lovely, extensive grounds, which are worth exploring.||The breakfast was good with a good range of options. It would have nice to have a good espresso, but this is not a problem unique to this hotel.
