Patreksfjörður Camping Ground

We stopped last night 25th May. No shower!! We arrived at 3pm. The camp person arrived to collect money after 9pm when we were in bed!! Very rude. We have been on the road almost 3 weeks and had wonderful camp experiences, but this one is NIT good. We will never come here again, and suggest that you choose another place to stay!

e were going to stay 2 nights, fuel the MH, do our weekly shop and visit the swimming pool, but when a local tool on a motorbike drives up and down in the campsite at midnight, well we move on and do the above at Tálknafjörður. Thanks but no thanks. Our worst experience in Iceland. That action just cost 3 businesses thousands.

No showers, only two common toilets, the washing machine/dryer very expensive. After washing my T-shirts, they smelled like Spaghetti Bolognese (the dryer is in the kitchen...). Will never stop here again.

Good amenities - clean washrooms and a good space for cooking & charging phones. Cheapest place I've been to also, and the pool discount is good - nice pool/hot tub/showers for 900 ISK (no showers at the site though)

Depressing campground and beat up facilities. Camp anywhere else if you can

Nice location, slightly off the main road. You need to pay at the N1 gas station. A large community building with cooking facilities, washer, dryer. But no hot shower. You can use the receipt to get into the nearby town swimming pool to use the hot tub and showers. The swimming pool also has a weight lifting gym which my son enjoyed. There is WIFI but only available at the non-camping side of the building.

Warm and clean common room with cooking facilities and some utensils, a washing machine inside. There are only two toilets inside, one per gender - can be a bit overcrowded. The payment is in the restaurant near the gas station - it works from 10 to 21 on weekdays, and from 11 on weekends. Be aware that the showers are not directly in the camping. They are part of a swimming pool and gym, which close at 21:30 (must be close to the camp, but we haven't searched for them - we arrived later, when they were already closed).

Very nice camping ground, many places to park at with wooden picnic tables for the cars. The site has a building which includes Kitchen Oven set, sink to wash dishes, power outlets, tables to eat at in the same area… very close are two toilets with sinks, and there are no showers in the campsite.
