Pat's Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant

The character, atmosphere and service were excellent on a Friday afternoon for a quick lunch while passing through the area. The many cats in the parking lot and alligators and Louisiana Bayou gave you plenty to look at. The outdoor seating area was lovely and the food was good if on the pricey side.

Very nice place. Tasty local food, big potrions. Friendly and helpful staff. Kid friendly too, loved the kid's menu in form of coloring page, crayons included.

This place is past its prime. My mom was excited to go here and take my family, but we were pretty disappointed. Then my uncle who grew up in Breaux Bridge said he had a similar existing experience the last time he was there too.

Excellent. Excellent atmosphere, service, and food. It was too cold for us to sit outside, but the large windows afforded us a great view of the bayou. This is fresh seafood prepared and seasoned excellently, but do not expect to be knocked out of your chair by cayenne pepper or any spice in abundance. This is seafood you can taste and not some lower quality food covered in spices. Not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Loved the outdoor eating area. We sat out there at first but had to move inside because it was so cool. But it was calming sitting by the water just listening to nature. I ordered a fried seafood platter that had a little bit of everything on it & shared it with my son. I was a little worried when I got back to the table & realized my son didn't ask for a little spice, as I am a wimp when it comes to hot food. But I ate everything but the rice & it wasn't too hot. The flavors were delicious!! I can understand why they have been there so long, it's just an all-around good place to eat.

I loved the outdoor dining area. We sat there at first but it was so cold that we had to go inside. I ordered the fried shrimps and shrimp gumbo witlh coffee. Fresh coffee would be calm down and make special morning. Served foods taste was awesome! I can understand why they have been there again. Very strong recommend.

Do NOT order the frog legs- upsetting how bland they were!!! These Frogs died in vain!! **HOWEVER—- BEST ALLIGATOR 🐊 5+ A+ MUST HAVE** Seriously, have eaten gator my whole life YET after tonight, I feel like I’ve been being lied to… what was I eating before 🤷🏼‍♀️😆 Unbelievably tender and bursting with flavor The alligator is carrying this rating otherwise it would have been a 1 for certain One of my all time go to comfort foods - Frog Legs- especially from Louisiana are always guaranteed to be A+ ***not here!!! These were so bad!! Cooked in plain flour, completely flavorless, absolutely not even any salt!! Can’t explain just how HORRIBLE the frog legs were All the other seafood was not quality but was tolerable SO VERY DISAPPOINTED This place is supposed to be great Uhhh NOPE- AWFUL… People weren’t friendly- from hostesses to guy who walked up sat down waters and walked off Didn’t even say hi The waitress was kind but was stretched far too thin making the Service not desirable

The crab cakes are the best I’ve EVER eaten. Large portion for an appetizer. Shrimp PO-Boy (bread is not as flaky but delish) and breaded French fries were perfect. Met and fed the alligator (courtesy of Pat’s thank you Pat!

Whatever was their temporary problem, it has been fixed & foods here have been just great the past year or so. Although less than 1 mile from IH10, Pat's is sort-of out-of-the-way, as it takes a parallel road "double-back" for about 10 minutes. Those who know are devotees and keep going back. Yes, a long-time "local's favorite" ! Lots of parking, some shaded. Stick with locals' favorites: crawfish, catfish, gumbo, shrimp, etc. If you want potato salad, take some with you b/c they don't offer that. Although immediately adjacent to our magnificent massive "Atchafalaya Swamp" Wilderness area, it is on the smaller Bayou Amy. Don't miss this jewel !

We wanted to try Pat's as we have not been to the Henderson area yet, and the ability to dine next to a river was nice. The drive out was nice also. We arrived and could immediately see the history, and the parking area was nice, lots of cats running around. We went inside and it took a little while to get the attention of the hostess, but was pleasantly greeted. We had a very nice service but a little slow, however the warm bread basket made up for that. There was one confusing part of the menu with prices in green, and red, which when asked meant the prices for cash or charge. I had the combo which consisted of one fried filet of catfish, which I must say was very well seasoned and wished I had more, the crab cake and stuffed shrimp was ok, dipping in the tartar sauce made it better, one hush puppy, again one more would have been nice, and a tablespoon (no exaggeration) of the Jambalaya, the bite of crawfish made it ok, nice portion of fries. We also had the Oyster Po boy, the bread was soft and thick which we liked however needed more filling, 3 oysters on each half, little lettuce and tomato, and the filling been more this would have been great, as the sweet potato fries were amazing. Price/portion was off to me. Still was worth the drive, and like I said the catfish was great, along with the shrimp.

Absolutely worst fried shrimp I've ever had! They weren't cooked! I can't believe that those shrimp would ever be served anywhere in Louisiana!

the fried fish and shrimp are ok but it's kind of a dive. It seems like you've stepped back in time to the 60's and 70's complete with racial discrimination. It's hard find much diversity there, so beware. The south with its sugary, syrupy sweetness can be very deceiving.

Shout out to our waitress - Lexi Pat's Fisherman's Wharf was the highlight of our trip. The food? Phenomenal. The service? Legendary. They brought us a complimentary appetizer and one of the kindest staff members even carried our toddler around so I could eat without someone hanging off my neck. That alone deserves a medal. I had the Snapper Anna (because the waitress talked me into it--bless her soul), and it was absolute buttery crab-topped magic. The gumbo was a hit, the kids devoured their food, and we even brought home bread pudding for a midnight snack like true Louisiana pros. If you're anywhere near Henderson, go. Bring the whole crew. Pat's made us feel full, happy, and taken care of--and that's saying a lot for a table of seven. - A grateful mama on vacation, finally fed and smiling

The service was AMAZING!!! When we entered we were greeted with such a warm hello and led to our table. Just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! Our server Maci, was also great. She was so attentive and worked with us to ensure we enjoyed the entire experience. The food is good. It's not terribly over seasoned, which is good for those watching their salt intake. I'm not really a fried alligator girl, but the fried alligator here was delicious! The fried oysters were lightly breaded and fried and tasted very fresh. Good portion sizes and again, just a great time with family.

Great original gem in Henderson and perfect for lunch - i met up with a couple of buddies and we ate in the bar Nothing fancy here, its all about the food and it was that way from start to finish. We started with the fried cat fish bites and yes - the fried frog legs ! Dang - if you've never had frog legs you gotta try them ..as tender as chicken wings and perfectly fried! Catfish bites were great too BUT the frog legs were the star Main course , I had the fried catfish po-boy with fries.. fish was tender and sandwich was perfectly dressed in a great fresh roll. Po-boy came with extra crispy texture fries , nice touch My buddies had the etouffee country style and the broiled black drum - both were very satisfied Final point, Jennifer took great care of our table ... see you in another year Jen!

A bunch of us went to meet Lauren with her cutie baby and we sat outside along the waterway for lunch. The girl came out and asked us if we wanted drinks and Grif got a beer but that was all then she brought some heated baguettes with butter to which we pounced on it then ordered cat fish bites as a starter for the table! Everything was fine on a beautiful day so I asked the girl if I should get the soft shell crab or the stuffed crab and she barked the stuffed crab is great well it wasn't great and the crabmeat was not lump crabmeat it seemed like a store bought deviled crab with its crappy slightly flavored like crab. And that came with a pile of French fries which were good. Griff started with a cup of the gumbo and said it was good! Mike got the shrimp poboy which he felt the bread was way too thick and not enough shrimp not happy there, his Mum said the same thing about her poboy! And Lauren and the baby were happy with what they had! Overall we had a good time but the food was sketchy!

What can I say, everything about the meal was perfect. My wife and I enjoyed a dinner with my 89 year old father from Sunset LA. The side salad with homemade blue cheese dressing as great as was the seafood gumbo that dad had. Our meal entrees were the shrimp combo dinner (dad), crawfish enchiladas (me), and the half and half crawfish platter (wifee). Everything was cooked to perfection. I'm now 64 and my first impression of seafood was 52 years ago at Pats...it was great to return again for a great meal with my father.

Even though our favorite waitress Ms Nancy has retired, we still thoroughly enjoyed our lunch! Redfish and the flounder. Both were exceptional. We love the bayou view and the relaxed atmosphere. Kandi was our waitress today. She was awesome as usual with the staff here. Keeping Pats on our Goto list. So grateful they reopened after the tornado!

A Hidden Gem with Incredible Food and Even Better People We had such a memorable experience at Pat's Fisherman's Wharf in Henderson! The food was absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and full of that Cajun charm you just can't find anywhere else. Every bite felt like home, from the seafood platter to the perfectly seasoned gumbo. But what truly made our night unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. After a wonderful dinner, we made it all the way back to our RV at Margaritaville before realizing our daughter had accidentally left her favorite lovie behind. She was heartbroken. We called, and even though they had already closed, they stayed open just a little longer so we could come back and retrieve it. That simple act of kindness meant the world to us and helped our little one fall asleep with a smile (and her stuffed bunny) in her arms. Good food is easy to find in Louisiana -- but good people like this are something special. Thank you, Pat's, for the incredible meal and the even more incredible hospitality. We'll be back!

The location is one of a kind on an inlet of the bayou. We ate on the breezy deck--really nice! Service was good, too. Now to the not great parts: the food is not all that memorable and is ridiculously overpriced. Bring plenty of money! Hubs has the friend shrimp dinner for $23. Popcorn shrimp and fries. Nothing g to write home about. I had the blackened redfish (very good) with shrimp etouffee ( not good at all) and a twice baked potato (meh). As someone who lives on the coast and eats seafood all of the time, I will not be recommending this place to friends and family traveling to the Atchafalaya Basin.

Not bad. Was expecting it to be bad but I enjoyed it. Got crawfish half half. It was actually good ettoufe and the fried crawfish was done right and surprisingly none of it was overly salty. The amount of rice they give you is less than adequate though. The jambalaya is bad. The crab cake appetizer was way too buttery. But it was still edible and ok. Service was friendly.

Growing up in Carencro we often ate at Pat's, was always delicious, we moved from the area. Recently traveled to Florida so we decided to stop in, it had been about 8yrs+. We were SO disappointed! The food was awful, had no taste, stuffed mushrooms swimming in butter, fried shrimp was cooked in old grease, crawfish bisque had ample crawfish yet zero seasoning and lukewarm, bread was a joke. Way overpriced for what we were served .... Never again Service wasn't too bad but not great.

Crawfish enchiladas were great. service was excellent. Wonderful history here. Dance hall next door was jammed with everyone dancing and having a great time. A true Cajun experience. We loved it.

The food was exceptional I found some shell and a piece of hair not sure if it was from the cat wandering around because I was loving on her I got the seafood gumbo it was good it lacked spice form typical gumbos but it is out of season so I'm not sure what I expected 3 stars

Overall, a great place to stop for some delicious fried seafood or crawfish! We were driving back to Houston from New Orleans on Easter Sunday and trying to find a place that was open. We were on our way to Cracker Barrel before I saw this on Google maps and decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately the patio was closed when we went, it would've been perfect to have lunch by the water! Food We ordered the seafood platter and blackened red fish combo to share between 3 of us, but after seeing the crawfish, we decided to also add 1lb of crawfish. We were pretty hungry and it was a good amount of food for us. Most everything in seafood platter was good and well seasoned, but the fries were meh. I really liked the fried shrimp. It did seem smaller portion for the price, but it was fresh. We all thought the blackened red fish was okay, it came with crawfish etouffee which my brother enjoyed, and a half baked potato which was nothing special. The crawfish was definitely the star of the show! So glad we decided to add it on. We like it spicy spicy so I had to add some more seasoning (slap ya mama) on the crawfish, but otherwise it was big, juicy and FRESH. Service/ambiance Service was friendly and relatively fast. It's a pretty big restaurant and has a cute view of the water. Seems liked by locals, and they also sell their hot sauces if you're interested! Plenty of parking available.

Sat outside. Food and drinks were great. Seafood gumbo is very good. Crawfish was good. Took home a bread pudding for a midnight snack.

Food was bad and the meat on the burger was horrible. Service took to long and it is hot. But outside is good. Don't come here

Stopped for the first time since I moved out west. Over 40 years Was always my go to stop on my way from Lake Charles to New Orleans. Where I lived. Love the food and atmosphere here. Service always great. Food exceptional. The hardest thing you have to decide is what on the menu your going to order. Good luck deciding. I had my Bisque and Soft Shell Crab. Others got Gomb. Everyone one was full and happy. Enjoy if you stop In. Worth the drive off I-10

The prices were ridiculous! Wish we had looked at the menu before we went. My husband got the special. It came out cold and was terrible. They did replace with another entree which was just as bad. The only good thing about this restaurant was the server. She was great. Would NOT RECOMMEND. I've never left a negative review but think people should know.

Awesome water side table, great service and food. We split the seafood platter, it was a little taste of everything. We will be back when visiting the area.

Friendly staff. Local and historical venue. Alligator sighting was free. I had the seafood salad and it did not disappoint. Also ordered the shrimp entree which had every way to eat a shrimp. All tasty. Would stop again.

I can't believe I've lived in Cajun Country most of my life and only just recently tried Pat's. It pains me to give such an institution a less than perfect review but I thought it was just ok. I think Pat's suffers from it's reputation-it's one of those "must try" places to come to when you're in the area and I think because of that they can just put anything on the plate and people will be wowed. The food here is not indicative of what I (or anyone who knows good Cajun food) expect from a seafood restaurant in Cajun country. We started with an order of onion rings and they were slightly over-battered for my liking, but they were definitely the best part of the meal. We decided to share a shrimp platter and it was just not great. Nothing was bad, mind you, but when I think shrimp platter I think piles of shrimp deliciously butterflied and perfectly fried. This was more of a mish mash of shrimp (small shrimp) cooked different ways and was really random. It is on the water, so if you love waterfront dining ask for a table outside. I'm glad I finally made it over to Pat's, but I won't be back.

Expensive- but worth the ambiance and cuteness factor! Great people and potential to see a giant gator or two in the water. Crawfish, soft-shell crab, alligator, frog legs... the crab and corn bisque is fab!

We sat outside! We were right by a swamp. I got chicken and chicken the people there were really nice and made mine from scratch because they ran out of the other stuff they use. The fries were crunchy which is good. The downfall on the restaurant was that my parent's food was nasty. My mom got crab cakes they were more like filling cakes. My dad's sandwich, ewww, I did not even taste it but it was nasty . The bathrooms were so gross. The only door that would lock was the last one. This is just gross. The captain of our riverboat tour did not mention this establishment and now we know why. When you don't get recommended a place from a local don't go there. Overall it was just not very good.

Pots is a nice country style restaurant with a full bar sitting beside the lake with beautiful views. The service is very friendly and the food is OK. Overall, we ordered stuffed shrimp and it was a small shrimp with a lot of stuffing, and a little crab in the stuffing on the outside of the shrimp, deep fried it was very odd And very expensive. The shrimp was tasty on the spicy side but I definitely ordered it again. Margaritas are very small and $12 apiece again on the high-end. It's OK but we have eaten much better restaurants in the area.

I ordered the crab claws and corn and crab bisque. Delicious. I had my daughter and 13 yr old grandson. That atmosphere is truly Cajun. They have a deck overlooking the bayou. We saw an alligator about 14 foot long. We fed him bread. Talk about loves bread. He's a local there.

Flat out fabulous food but these guys have gotten greedy and shrunk their portion sizes down a lot despite having also raised prices a good bit. A 'platter" should not have a single piece of catfish and a pair of shrimp. That said, it was a delicious piece of catfish and two of the most perfectly cooked shrimp I've ever eaten anywhere. The way too small portions are the only reason I'm going 4 stars rather than 5. Still though, Pat's is well worth the drive. It's not cheap but it's delicious. Just plan on ordering an extra entree to share in addition to your main selection so you leave there full.

We tried Pat's for our first time. Nice atmosphere. Food is hot and fresh. We had the blackened red fish with crawfish etouffee topping, a stuffed baked potato and shrimp gumbo. All was very good. The service was mediocre, waitresses weren't very attentive.

We had the most incredible time at Pats Fisherman's warf and the Atchafalaya Club! Thank you Jude, Butch, Harvey and Calais for the warm welcome and making us feel so special . Can't wait to come back

Stopped by this place on our drive to Florida because we heard good things but the food was not good at all and way overpriced. We paid $35 for what was on the menu as a seafood platter and came out to be a lot closer to a seafood plate. It was very small and not at all worth the price. You got one piece of catfish and 2 fried oysters 2 fried shrimp 1 crab cake type thing and some fries. The service was terrible. We asked the waitress for our bread 3 times and she never brought it out. Took 20 minutes for her to come over and take our drink order. Just a generally bad experience considering the restaurant was almost empty and there was no reason for the kitchen or waitstaff to be running that slow.

We love great seafood and a good hole in the wall restaurant....this is not it! It is VERY expensive, not very clean and the service is SLOW! We were there for lunch on a Friday and sat outside. There was only one other table occupied in the entire restaurant. There were plenty of staff members to serve 2 tables but we could see them sitting at the bar chatting with each other instead of checking on the tables. We ordered crab cakes, red beans and rice and shrimp gumbo which are staples in this area. The price was exorbitant for the portions and quality. Try some of the other Cajun restaurants in Breaux Bridge and Lafayette for a much better experience.

While I was in New Orleans I forgot to get some good old fashioned etouffee and I was really kicking myself for it. It is, after all, one of my favorite creole dishes. So, as I was stepping into the Atchafalaya Visitor's Center, the kind folks there recommended I stop in here for some really good food. And boy, were they right! It's off the freeway several miles and it takes a good 10 minutes or so to get there, but, trust me... it's worth the extra little drive. Pat's is part of a larger complex and unfortunately the sign is missing so it is indeed the very first building as you drive up. It's got the large awning to shield you from the weather. As you walk up the air is rich with the wonderful aromas of fresh seafood and creole spices! The entrance is currently decorated for Mardi Gras and the decorations on the inside are that off a Cajun home. There's lots of space for many to dine in but on this Wednesday afternoon there are only about a dozen parties eating today. Like many places, the lack of soft materials in the dining room leads to it being very noisy. I can easily hear the conversations from the tables next to me. There is only one waitress on duty today and the host has everyone really spread out throughout the restaurant so the poor waitresses is really ruining her butt off! The menu is impressive with a ton of interesting options to choose from. But as I mentioned at the beginning, I'm on a mission and etouffee is definitely on my mind. As I look through the menu I realize that this place actually has TWO versions of etouffee and now I'm really excited! They have the regular and they have Mom's campfire etouffee. Ok, why get the usual when you can get the home recipe from the matron herself. So, I order the dish and eagerly anticipate its arrival. The waitress informs me that it's going to take about 20 minutes to make, so, I settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. After a couple of minutes, the waitress brings me some buttered bread. Good thing too... I'm really hungry. I purposefully didn't have breakfast so I would have the room needed to eat it all. As I was waiting, the waitress was kind enough to swing by and refill my water and keep me posted on when it's going to be ready. A couple of minutes more, she proclaims as she's running over to take care of another table. No worries, I reply. The anticipation is killing me! Finally, after the time needed has expired, she brings me a steaming hot plate of the most interesting etouffee I've ever seen. This isn't the usual stew I've had dozens of times before. No. This is a heaping serving of fresh shrimp lightly coated with a lightly spicy sauce sautéed with onions and peppers served in a a bed of steamed rice. And next to this masterful dish is something I've never seen before. It's a monkey dish with a piece of romaine lettuce, some Mayo, a maraschino cherry, a slice of pineapple and a handful of shredded cheddar. I leave the side dish untouched as I have absolutely no idea what it's for. Is it for the etouffee? Is it simply a side dish? So, the next time the waitress swings by I ask her. She replies that it's actually an after meal Side dish. A palate cleanser. It's served as a means of cooling off the mouth after eating spicy foods. So, I let it sit as I work on knocking out my meal. The portion is perfect. I'm not too full and I'm not still hungry. And while I was definitely eyeing the bread pudding with butter rum topping, alas, it will have to wait for the next visit. Although I do love a good warm bread pudding with butter rum... oh, and the palate cleanser? Well, it's definitely an interesting flavor. Between the acid of the pineapple and the oil from the Mayo and cheese, I can see how it could help put out any fires that may have been started in your mouth. Overall, this is a really cool place. It has a wonderful environment and a friendly staff. They clearly make everything from scratch and to order. So, if you have a fast food mentality and you can't sit and wait for some home cooked food, then they have several options directly off the freeway. But, if you want to have a nice casual meal made by people who know what they are doing and you want something different... then this place is for you. Bon Appetite!

Holy moly! The food IS as amazing as we've heard for years! Well worth the drive! We had the seafood platter and the gumbo. I wish we lived closer!

I enjoyed 50 + years of wonderful Cajun dishes expertly prepared @ Pat's Fisherman Wharf. Such a treat to visit Pat's whenever in the Lafayette area. Had not been in over 7-8 years. The founder, Pat Huval, always ran a tight ship. The crawfish étouffée' and fried crawfish (1/2& 1/2 platter) was always such a treat!! Wish I had a picture what was served me a few nights ago. It did not resemble anything I have ever eaten there. Skimpy portions, a few fried crawfish tails on a mound of FRENCH FRIES!!!! Completely inedible.... Chinese crawfish tails?? HORRIBLE service!!!!! We waited forever to be seated while standing @ the hostess stand. We then were led to a table, where we sat for at least 10+ mins before our waitress came. She apologized and said she was preparing some "refills"? & got distracted. We ordered our drinks, then ordered our entrees. What was brought out about 30 mins later was unrecognizable from what I had always ordered before!! A small plate with two little clumps of dried out rice. One white rice and the other possibly jambalaya?? Like maybe 2 bites of each. The jambalaya and French fries were not even mentioned on the menu, and had never accompanied the crawfish etouffee and fried crawfish tails in all my years of dining here!! The etouffee was in a small soup bowl!!! Not on the plate over the rice!!!!! The Pat's I grew up with and long remembered is longgg gone!! Where is all the good classic Cajun dishes to be found in Acadiana???? I can cook way better @ home! Au revoir Pat's Fisherman's Wharf!!! (I feel like I just lost a good friend and went to their funeral!). In the defense of the owner-- he did not charge us for the train wreck left on our table.... Another chapter of my life has come to an end.....

Horrible service, arrived to place no one to sit you or provide a menu. We found a table and one young man brought water and said waitress would come get our order. No one ever came or even talked to us, multiple waitresses walked past us never said one word or brought a menu. After waiting over 20 min we got up and left.

We asked our campground for recommendations for some good gumbo. They recommended Pats. What a cool place. Service from our waitress & the busser was great, as was our gumbo. Loved everything about it--including the friendly cats that caught some shade under our car.

Great food and ambiance. Democrats beware Pat's is pro-Trump big time. It was one of the best shrimp po' boys if ever had! Bread was fresh and shrimp were fried perfectly. Holy cow their hot sauce is the best I've ever had! Not too hot but packed with flavor. Service was super friendly and fast. If you're a cat lover this is the place for you. Cats all over the parking lot so be cautious.

Unfortunately, we found out why there was no wait to be seated. The menu reads like a dream but the food is a nightmare. My husband ordered the combo "platter" and came out on a small plate but of course the worst was the flavor of each item. Definitely not appealing and not worth the money. I ordered the filet which had no spices, tasted as if it was cooked in a steak sauce and worst of all it was ice cold. It came with half a baked potato topped with half a piece of sliced cheese. There is a sign at the hostess stand mentioning they're under construction. In my opinion no amount of renovation and marble countertops in the bathrooms are going to make up for poor culinary skills. Don't waste your time and money.

SO GOOD! I'm not a seafood lover myself but the food I got was exquisite! I got a cheeseburger and oh my god, it was amazing. My family loved the seafood and everything else! I recommend

Pat's has both a restaurant and dance hall I mainly go for the dancing There is a long stocked Bar in the dance hall. Usually plenty of parking space in their parking lot If not people with trucks use the levee to park their vehicles. Dance floor is a good size with plenty of tables and chairs for comfort and seating Go pass a good time

I would normally give Pat's a better rating, but (I haven't been in a while since I'm from around Baton Rouge) , but the onion rings literally had no flavor. The batter had not even an ounce of salt in it. Hmmmm

This restaurant is famous, but it must be living off a reputation earned years ago that is no longer deserved. It is off the beaten path so getting here takes a few minutes to come from the Interstate. Walk in the door and you stroll through a shrine to Donald Trump. Everyone has the right to political views, but odd to see this in a business that should want patrons of all political parties. The prices were high -$40 for a fish special- which would have been forgivable if the food had not been terrible and served by sloppily dressed wait staff that clearly invested more in tattoos than other aspects of appearance. That said, the onion rings were pretty good.

I tried Pat's again 4 years later after a not so great experience and I wish I hadn't. Four years ago I wasn't impressed with the food and the service was horrible. My recent visit was the worst meal ever. The gumbo with a roux that was too runny wasn't very good and lukewarm. The flounder was nasty and I should've complained. It tasted like a nasty catfish. I'm not sure if it wasn't. I can't believe that I didn't get sick.

One of our favorite places to stop when stoping in Louisiana. Didn't start at that well this trip. Our waitress was new, young and apparently poorly trained. I ordered a Margarita with silver tequila, she did not know what I meant ? I ordered Étouffée camp style and I asked for it to be light on craw dads and heavy on veggies , again she had no idea what I was trying to say. We had to ask someone to get her to come to the table to request a sweet tea for the hubby. She never stopped back to ask how the food was after she brought it. The food was really good but prepared differently than previous years think maybe they have a new cook. The mushrooms were outstanding! We will of course be back again , we love Pats, but I'm afraid our young waitress won't be here unless one of the more experienced waitress take her under their wing and train her. I just can't give this place three starts so out of loyalty it will be four.

Only reason for the 3 stars is because our server was great and my drinks were nice and strong... and those 2 reasons made up for the food. Fried Crab Fingers $16.95 Good portion however lacked in flavor. The crab claw batter was just bland! Pat Huval's Seafood Platter almost $27.95 Cup of seafood gumbo, fried shrimp, Fried oyster, filet catfish, fish patte, stuffed crab, stuffed shrimp -Gumbo was super fishy and not in a good way. -fried shrimp were okay. -filet catfish = fishy, hub said you can almost taste that it's been sitting out for a while. -fish patte.. no idea what that was -stuffed crab was just Ok -stuffed shrimp was the best part of the meal along with the fries. Red Beans & Rice with Sausage $12.95 Came out piping hot and bland! The sausage they use in the dish however was tasty.. wish I could've just had that as my meal. I doused it in their chow chow sauce. Chow chow sauce is so unique. It's spicy, sour, salty, tangy...yum! I used it to dip my claws in! Bread pudding Yummmmmmmmmm! At least dessert was good. All In all, place is just expensive for nothing. Foods mediocre. If I ever were to come back, I'd chow down on dessert and mixed drinks.

Visited with friends from out of state so we tried several things. All delicious. We had the ribeye and grilled shrimp which was perfectly cooked. We had the grilled red snapper and the crawfish plate with everything crawfish lol nice place. I will be back.

Ordered the specialty, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. They were mostly breading. If you like that go for it but I was expecting a large mushroom with a chunk of crab for the price they charged. Also had the turtle soup which came with a side os sherry "to help with the gamy taste", I was told by the server. It wasn't gamy to me just chewy. My husband ordered the Shrimp PoBoy with fries. He was happy with it and I have to say the fries were crispy the way I like them. I had a Strawberry Daiquiri and he had a bottled Coors Light. No draft beer. Our bill was $100. An expensive lunch for so-so food.
