Very basic accommodation, clean, the bunks are nice and wooden, breakfast is tasty. Large bright windows. Beds made and super comfortable. Only one power socket strip in the whole room - and it’s by the door, which is neither safe nor ideal - bring an extension lead. 1 female toilet in our side of the dorm with 1 shower. Last check in is 10pm - which I think is a little wild as they’re SO FAR from everything 🥲 I faced a 9hr journey myself. Could use a little revamp where sockets are concerned, but overall a great large room with large communal areas which is always fun! A lovely walk to the Inn on the lake - would recommend for dinners.

The rooms were very clean, and the bunk beds were very comfy. The staff was very polite and the environment was very pleasant, felt really nice as the place was surrounded with mountains, trees, benches to sit and eat outside. Amazing part was there was a lake too. Had a really great time.

Lovely little hostel in a great location at the head of Ullswater. Out of the door and up into the fells. Our room was in an extension and a bit cooler, but fine. The communal rooms are what make this hostel, a log fire and lots of sofas upstairs and plenty of dining space. We used the members kitchen which was well equipped, but bring your own cafetiere if you need a morning coffee as they were all being used for the paid breakfasts.

Stayed for a weekend programme - the whole place was booked for it. Beautiful scenery from my window (stayed in a 10-bed hostel room), plenty of indoors and outdoors space for activities. There were benches outside too. Bathrooms were clean, hot water was running, kitchen was well-equipped. Comforting fireplace in the lounge. Super cozy :) p.s. pls don't be scared of the photo - had to blur person

One of the best in the lake District.Great location for walks. Hostel has good facilities and comfortable lounge and dining area. Even has bird feeders , too. Stunning views of the fells and pub within 3 min walk too.

Pretty basic but has everything you need and a nice friendly vibe. Location was fantastic for Helvellyn. 4 min drive to Glenridding Car Park or 20-30 min walk. Other more relaxed routes in the nearby hills (photo attached). Nice, friendly atmosphere and an interesting mix of people.

We stayed here for 4 nights camping and absolutely loved it. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you. The amenities are brilliant, we didn't use them too much as we were self sufficient but after having a look around we were really impressed. There is a fully tooled up communal kitchen with plenty of fridge and cooker space, plenty of sinks and cookware. They also do cooked breakfasts and dinner (if you dont fancy cooked after a day out on the hills) The lounge area is really comfy and cosy with a nice buzz of people who share similar interests. With access straight onto Goldrill Beck from the camp site it's perfect for a paddle out onto Ulls Water.
