Small but worthwhile stop when you're in Pilsen. Takes maybe an hour to fully if you watch the film and read everything. Short walk away from St Bartholomew's. Very easy to find.

This small museum is an excellent reminder of the sacrifices made by the Czech people and their American liberators at the end of the Second World War.
The story is told in great detail in 20 panels in Czech and English, illustrated with uniforms and artifacts from the time. I found it very readable.
The names of many of the soldiers who gave their lives are recorded in the details of separate incidents.
An unmissable and unforgettable experience.

Not very big, but a lot of really interesting period artifacts and explanations in both Czech and English on a very important and under-studied moment in history. Must see if in Plzeň. As of Aug 2025, admission for adults was only 100 Kn ea.

The museum itself is small and I I think the place is more suitable for history buffs. But in general, you can also come to see the exhibition and read information about them. You can also buy interesting souvenirs
Entrance for a student costs 70 CZK

Plzen was liberated by the Americans in 1945. The museum was set up based on collection of military enthusiasts. It is difficult to get the picture as there are long descriptions of fights in certain villages. The main question how and why the American Army accidentally disappeared from Plzen is not addressed. The museum shop sells very strange items including body mist.

Interesting museum that explains in detail the liberation of Polish territory by the US Army. It would have been even more interesting if there was information about General Patton himself.

A small museum dedicated to the US troops who liberated Pilsen in 1945. This is a nice, brief stop when visiting Pilsen.

We found the museum by accident while checking a map of Pilsen which was a stop on our trip in Czech Republic. As a couple of WW2 collectors and reenactors, we were very happy with the visit and talk with Ivan who seems to be very involved in the WW2 History and Memory. The museum offers a 1h visit with many readings that precisely depict all the events that happened in Czech Republic and display a fair amount of local finds and some items that belonged to Patton himself! At the end of the visit is a 10 min video focused on the huge event that happens in Pilsen every year in May to celebrate the liberation of the city and the end of the WW2 in Europe. We hope to attend the celebrations in a near future with all the beautiful people of Czech Republic who do not want to forget.
