Overall . The burger is above average. The fries are al lil over cooked and it would be nice if they would salt them. The atmosphere.... It has potential if they would clean the place and shut the door so it's not ice cold in here. I wanted to eat my hamburger fresh and I had to freeze at the same time.

I found this restaurant when one of my neighbors asked in our Facebook page for the best burger in town and a few people mentioned the name. Since it’s quite close to my office so I took my chance driving there for lunch today. I was surprised by how isolate this place is. It’s surrounds by houses and I don’t see many other business around. The place itself is, for the lack of better word, old. It looks old from the outside and inside. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean anything bad by being old. It gives out the vibe of homemade/family business that has been around for a long time. You can smell the oil in the air. I might give this place 3-star on atmosphere but that’s solely because I’m trying to use the same standard across my reviews. Although, I kinda like how this place feels. To sum it up:old but clean. The staff were friendly. Menu is simple, nothing too complicated there (hamburger, cheese burger, and a few other options) and you can choose toppings you want. I spend like $20 for a double cheese burger with fries and a drink, not cheap for a burger, I would say. Their drink cup does have a waxy taste, not sure why, so I couldnt finish my drink. The food though was good. I like the fries. It’s still has the flavor of potato inside and crispy outside. They salt it just perfectly which is rare for burger place these days that like to dump salt on their fries. The patter was juicy and flavorful, again, not too salty and just perfect. The veggies are fresh and the grilled onions and mushrooms are cooked right. The buns, though, got a bit soggy and you will definitely make a mess eating the burger. Overall, if you are not a clean freak who wants everything nice and shiny, this place has good food and should give yourself a try. I will not be hesitate to come back.

The burgers are good. Made fresh to order. Fries are great, but I like more salt. Really easy to add. Service is great. Very nice staff. They employ a girl with special needs who clears the tables, which I like. It nice to see them giving her job training. It's spacious inside. Old building. It was a little cold inside, but I think the kitchen area is warm. I had a jacket, so it was fine. Plenty of parking. It's a popular place, but there was plenty of seating and parking. And the wait was not too long for hot food.

This is a really great burger place. The bun, meat, toppings tasted good. And the bacon was cooked perfectly crispy. Fries were delicious and cooked nicely. Parking is a little tight in the front of the store against the road but they have more along the other side.

Where have you been all my life? This may be the juciest, best-seasoned burger I've had in SLC. I love the simple menu and free Diet Coke refills. I'll see you again soon.

The burgers are quite good. My family does burger Friday and chose Patty Shack after viewing an instagram post. The place is a dive, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The employees were kind and considerate, the burger tasted more home-made, though it was scrunched in the wrapper, and we really liked the fries. It was costly though. I had a bacon cheese burger with fries for around $13-$14 but really it should have been $10-$12, but that’s ok. Many people were there so it was a bit busy after we arrived. The service was a bit slower than expected. It took between 15 and 15 minutes for our food. None of the selections were applicable for the last question of accessibility, diet, parking is very small, I don’t know what kid friendly is unless it’s a play area, which are just Petrie dishes anyway, and my guess is the restrooms were not wheelchair accessible but I didn’t go in. Regardless, they should have been required to be, as should there have been accessible parking and route to the building. IMO, solid 4 stars, though, due to the food.

Delicious! Fair prices too. I got the double pastrami cheeseburger and it was great. Fries were also good. Great atmosphere for a burger place. Will definitely stop by again if I’m in the area.

I came in to salt lake for work. Patty Shack was mentioned as a good burger place and it's somewhat off the beaten path. The restaurant is a classic dive with excellent customer service and perfectly cooked cheeseburgers and crispy fries! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a unique dining experience!

Patty shack is exactly what you think of when you think a little hole in the wall burger place! It's small and they don't even have a number system for your order. They just remember who ordered what and brought it out. The burger was great! I would compare it to a local five guys burger. The fries are fried in beef tallow and to the perfect brown crispy crunch !

I took my daughter here after a day up a Brighton skiing and snowboarding. We love a greasy meal after burning over 1000 calories riding. This place hit the spot. It's tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood in Murray and when you walk in, it's a complete dive, wood plank walls and floors, smoke from the flattop hits you. But damn the food is good. I got the daddy patty, but with two instead of three patties. This thing is piled high with bacon and pastrami. Every burger is to order, you choose all your toppings and condiments. We got fries and they're fries are so good, they're battered do that extra crunch and flavor. And of course they have to have fry sauce. The logo is modern and doesn't fit the building and vibe but I could care less about that. Give me another daddy patty burger now!

Lived and worked in this area for years and had no idea this place existed. I have been missing out. Simple menu with great food, great service and great prices! I'll be a regular from now on.

Patty Shack Heard pastrami burgers and fry sauce were an Utah staple, so I had to try it, and Patty Shack did not disappoint. I got the pastrami cheeseburger (with everything) & fries meal, and for $12 it was super filling and flavorful. The fry sauce was a great compliment to the fries, and the burger was made fresh and juicy. This shouldn't have came as a surprise as their wall was filled with awards they've gotten for their burgers. A tasty break from the usual burger chains

I loved this place so much that I came here two days in a row and brought a friend the second time. It is such a little jewel that many will drive by and never stop at. Unfortunately, that is their loss, and it keeps it a special spot for the rest of us because we can get in and out with a hidden treat. The folks behind the counter are friendly and have big smiles. Ordering is easy, and you can have the burger your way. Once your order is placed, you go get your drink. A welcoming sign is hanging there, letting you know the refills are free. They bring your burger out to you, and the fun begins. The burger is hot off the grill, the cheese is melted to perfection, and that first taste is oh-so-good. It's hot and juicy, and the beef is top-notch when it comes to flavor. Get out of the traditional fast-food burger chains and head to this joint. You will be glad you did.

Exactly what you want when craving a no frills burger and fries. Ambiance: Looks to be what use to a be house, plenty of seating and space. Service: You order at the front and then they bring the food to you. Quicky and friendly. Food: Got the cheeseburger w/ fries. Toppings included ketchup, grilled onions, lettuce, and pickles. The cheese burger was delicious and is exactly what you want when looking for a simple burger. The fries were definitely the highlight though with crispy outsides and soft inside. Perfect fries. Overall, great, low-key place when looking for a burger. Will definitely be back!

This place serves a solid burger every time. It's become of my favorites for consistently delivering a quality traditional bacon cheeseburger with excellent fries. I'll keep coming back!

Im from the deep South & let me just say...this is the place you drive 30 min in the wrong direction for; finding it off the side of a country road & the inside feels like a bit of home. The food is made right there in front of you, tasting like it was made at your grandmamas house with a bit of love. the ranch is homemade- something that's hard to find made right out here. Priced very fair! $10-12 for a meal. Keep it up yall, southern approved!

The infamous Patty Shack is worth a visit. Smile food at its finest. Great burgers and excellent fries with lots of seating and friendly staff.

The burgers are just amazing how can you go wrong with an amazing cheeseburger they make it in such a classic way. Love to see the owners bright smile as well the staff is always so friendly and it's always clean on the inside just so welcoming.

Discovered this place last month and now all other burgers pale in comparison. Anytime I eat a burger or fries now I find myself thinking, "it's no Patty Shack." The burger is so flavorful and they cook their bacon to perfection. The fries are the most phenomenal fries I've ever had- I now don't care or feel sad that I missed out on the pre-90s McDonalds tallow fries everyone talks about because I'm convinced nothing could be better than these. We've never stayed to eat, just order takeout, but it's worth the 20 min drive for us any day of the week. Service is always exceptionally friendly, and although it's slightly embarrassing they recognize my name on the takeout order, nothing will keep me away. Please never change, Patty Shack!

Super disappointed in this place. The food was great, but I had a problem and emailed the management. They emailed me back to give them more information which I did and they never responded. I send a follow up email to make sure they got the email and nothing. Even though the food was great, and the price was pretty good, I will never go back there and have told others about my experience. Update on my review. Management emailed me back as soon as they got my email and has been amazing and will look into the situation. Thank you for being such a great leader and owner.

I searched Burger and Shake near me and Patty Shack was near the top. Menu is not easy to pull up so when I drive here i learn they don't serve Milk Shakes. I wanted the shake more then the burger. Either Yelp or Patty Shake should fix this. Burger was great.

Great burgers and fries. The tables weren't clean and had to seek for a clean table. I'd only do take out for this restaurant

I came here last week in between my son's baseball games. I got the cheeseburger and fries. It's a small place, kind of a hole in the wall. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and the quick and efficient service. My son had another baseball game at vista park, so guess where I had to come eat? Lol

Oooh this is a little hole in the wall! Im surprised I've never heard of it before! Their burgers were delicious. They had a variety of toppings you can add to your burger! I liked the big selection that they had. I got a bacon cheeseburger burger and added almost everything! It does take a bit to make the burgers but it's worth the wait. Staff is friendly and give good recommendations. Overall I would eat here again.

Really good hole in the wall spot for burgers and fries. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with grilled onions, mayo, catchup, lettuce and it was really good. The bacon was a little more crunchy than I prefer but still good. Fries were nice and crispy, which I do prefer. My wife ordered the BLT. It's what it sounds like but on a hamburger bun. My wife usually doesn't like crunchy bacon either but said it worked here. I would have liked it a little warmer. Owner/cook/cashier/server, Tyler, was very friendly and did a great job. We were in a bit of a hurry and even solo got us out quickly.

What a great place. Delicious fresh made burgers and fries, friendly service, old school burger shack. Will absolutely be back. Kind of a 5 guys style concept, lots of great and fresh toppings to add on included in cost of burger. Support small local businesses and hit this place up you will not be disappointed

Tastest Burger in town! I know. I love burgers so much I asked my kin to serve burgers at my funeral because I know I will miss them above all other tasteful delights. Nothing fancy, just busting with toppings, flavorful meat patty with that smoked grilled taste. And the taste delight doesn't stop there. The french fries are crispy and delicious as well. They're only lacking is that Rootbeer lovers have to BYO because it's not offered as a soft drink. My solution, bring it home to pair with a Root Beer float, and you have..."Hamburger Heaven "

You would drive past this place, thinking it's gone out of business- if there wasn't any cars Parker in front. It's like the other reviews of how it looks like it belongs in some small country town. Not modern brick & mortar restaurant. But!! Plenty of inside seating( for 50 people) coke products.. and at typical times- it can get busy FAST and stay busy.. The burgers are pretty good, the thick steak fries are typical but hot!! I opted for a double cheese burger and fries.. it takes from placing your order till served to your table.. is 15 mins on avg. The Fries are good, but you don't get a lot.. so if you like good fries.. may ask for an extra portion. The burger in size like a typical cheese burger at say McD.. little smaller than INO burger.. but The Bun steals the show.. So good!! I'd say I'd come back just because I could see this as some place to come and have a solid meal... from time to time...

Had issues tonight. First time ever and honestly shocked. Missing items from order Ranch dumped out in the bag ( that I paid extra for) Do not like the flimsy paper fry bags now vs the cups that allowed the fry's to stay crunchy No fry sauce with order ( a free item) Loyal customer but totally disappointed tonight.

Has a very laid back atmosphere, that day I visited some good Michael Jackson Jams were playing . All the staff were friendly and the fries were super crunchy seasoned well . Will be back soon enough to get another pastrami burger

The service is incredible!!! The food is awesome!! We had the cheeseburger and fries and it tasted like it was made at home!!! We for sure had to try the no bake oatmeal cookies and they did not disappoint!

Went here with some friends and wish I'd known about this place sooner!! The Patty Shack is unassuming but the food is well worth the visit! We ended up splitting a pastrami burger and fries. The fries were crispy and delicious. They are the best I've had in a long time. The people and service were friendly and inviting. Can't wait to visit again!

Delicious burgers! Tried this place out since it was my first time being in Salt Lake City, and not in the mood for "just another fast food burger". The fries were plentiful and extremely crisp. No extra salt or pepper was needed. The burger (I ordered their bacon cheeseburger) was fantastic. Properly seasoned and you choose what toppings to put on. Service was quick. I went around 5:00 pm and there was only one customer ahead of me. I have heard it gets extremely busy on weekends. Anyway, I couldn't have waited more than 6 minutes. Be careful though, it's kind of a "blink and you'll miss it" place. It's nestled between some older homes. The parking lot is small as is the place itself. Gave me old school family run diner vibes. (That's a good thing!) If you're ever in SLC and want a really tasty burger (to quote Jules in Pulp Fiction), check this place out!

Last night all I wanted was a greasy burger and fries and I wanted it quickly. I've been wanting to check out Patty Shack for a while now and was excited to come here and see what the hype was about! It's an old school interior and vibe with a simple menu. You order at the counter and can sit down in their dining room area. They unfortunately don't have a veggie burger on their menu, but they do have a regular grilled cheese option and a Maddie Veggie Melt, which is an elevated grilled cheese option with caramelized onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. It comes on a buttered/grilled bun and was really delicious and just what I wanted and needed, even though there wasn't a veggie burger option. I didn't get a photo of the fries because, let's be honest, they were gone in 30 seconds because they were so delicious. Perfectly cooked and crispy and they come with fry sauce. The staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly. Excited to come back here!

This place is a nice hidden gem in Taylorsville. The over all vibe scream privately owned and operated family burger stop. Not sure if that's true but get that old town Americana vibe. The burger is a simple, well dressed, and well executed burger. The burger doesn't seem to be a frozen bulk patty, and had a good ratio of lean to fat. For me that's all I wanted and it exceeded my expectations. The food came out quick and the kitchen really seems streamlined, I bet they could handle a big lunch or dinner rush quite well. As far as burger places go this is a solid standard burger joint and a must check it out if you like a solid burger and fries. Overall the cost was about what you would pay for a fast food combo and quality was far superior. If I am ever over in the area, I will be stopping in again for sure.

The food here is so good! I had the cheeseburger and fries and it was so good. While we were there a regular came in they knew his name and his order. It's clearly a place I'll return to often.

The food was good sorry no pics. Was a bit busy when visited. Keep in mind the food is made at the time is ordered and paid for. But we'll worth the wait.. For a little place did really well. Going back soon

The French fries and the service are awesome! I'd recommend this place to anyone who likes friendly staff and crispy, not soggy fries. Exceptional.

The food from here is as expected and exactly what you want when getting a burger. I first ordered from DoorDash a few times and anytime I'm in the area I always stop in. Super good burgers and when I eat thing don't get or feel sick after because I think it's real food and not processed like fast food chains. Service was great and the workers have always been great.

Food is solid, service is amazing! It's just what you want in a burger joint. If you want an amazing burger that gets it right, this is your place. They dont distract their burger with a big bun or massive amounts of other toppers. You'll enjoy a great burger, to me it just seems like a throw back to good quality burgers from days gone by. Also, the people who work here have a wonderfully happy disposition.

We landed in UT from CA and found this place along our route to our hotel. It did not disappoint! Friendly service and delicious food. The fries are amazing! The burger was a little charred but still good. I'd definitely recommend stopping here for a good meal.

I'm just a simple man, searching for the best lettuce wrapped pastrami burger. This shop ranks pretty well in the valley, but the bun version is a little better. You choose your own adventure for toppings, so I was added jalapeños, which is something I didn't know I needed till now. Generally, they checked all the boxes for a classic burger, and I'd recommend them. They have a battered French fry, that I personally enjoy, because it has a good crisp to it. Pricing is comparable to most other nice burger shops in town, and I'll definitely stop by again. The shop interior feels like walking through a Time Machine to the 80's in some of the good ways. But as such the interior is definitely dated. Still clean, and had a decent amount of seating. Staff is super friendly, my online order was ready on time, within minutes of my arrival. It was even hot by the time I made it home. I do wish the menu had a recommended topping list to make it a little easier to order, but I don't mind the customization. I also wouldn't mind a few more options for sides to get in addition to the fries. Overall a good experience.

This place has the best fries, and burgers, and homemade treats, and service. Really, for a "greasy spoon", I like it as well as Purple Turtle in Pleasant Grove. I like their fries better. Haven't been to the location, but looks old school, which I love.

Omg been craving a burger like this!!!!! I'm so hooked. This place's employees are super sweet. The burgers are made to order and that meat is so red and fresh! You can tell it has never been frozen. Ordered a double bacon cheese burger with mayo, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and a tomato. Large fries with fry sauce... dang it slaps sooooo hard. The burger meat could use a little seasoning or salt tbh... but other than that, just wow. Loved it and wolfed it down. ( I started gobbling it as soon as I got home. So or explains the half eaten burger pic) (*please remember this is my opinion to the burger and fries and mine solely... to each their own!) I loved it, if you love the 5 guys burgers... this will definitely not disappoint! Their fries are so dang crispy and good!! I like them the most!! Yes ... they are a little expensive, but they are a small operating business and in my book, I'd come here and spend my hard earn money rather than going to a chain place that is sometimes a hit or miss. That's why the chains are priced less too... they're a chain! Not a one location operating business. Be kind, spread love and give this place a try. It was 9:15 pm when I came out to try it.. looks weird at night. But they are super friendly! This place is always packed. I stopped in to get a bite, for the first time today. No wonder it's always crowded, it's BOMB!!! So so good! I got the cheeseburger and fries and they both were out of this world, good!

Five stars to the patty flipper with Golden Pipes! Loved hearing the harmonies to the 80's music that filled the smaller diner ambiance that this location offers. The food was good- I would compare the burger to the likes of Five Guys Burgers and Fries. I enjoyed all the toppings, but would have loved if the cheese on the patty was a little more melted. Four Star Meal The workers here seem really chill, and made the meal a positive experience. Go give it a try!

This place is the definition of a hidden gem. If you have any appreciation for a good burger then you need to try Patty Shack. Shoutout to the weekend night crew for making the vibe immaculate. Five guys should be careful they finally got competition.

There is a reason that this old shack is claiming top spot for burgers in salt lake. Premium burgers and fries super service thank you Josh and MadisonDefinitely one of the best burger dives I have been to. The fries were cooked to perfection. The burgers were moist with the perfect crisp to the outside. If you have not been here change your ways now and make time to experience this goodness. Although my first time I can't wait to share this with my fry loving wife. So if you have graced your taste buds with this delightful meal my only question for you is when are you coming back? Perhaps I'll see you at the shack next time.

One of the best burgers I've had. Service is slow and I feel like the fry's could do a little more work when it comes to frying them. They were soggy when I got them last. The place definitely needs a makeover here soon. Overall, a good place for a bite to eat. In a good spot in town.
