Our family enjoyed tenting at this campground. It seems to be primarily for seasonals, but the few tent sites they have (with water and electricity access) are peaceful and private. It is not a rowdy campground, and we appreciated the atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean, with free showers. There are kayaks and canoes to rent, and the beach area was clean (also a bit warmer than the main lake beach, which was nice!). It is a bit dated in the booking process, but I promise it is legitimate. The family/extended family that run this campground were kind and accommodating. We were able to bike down a short path to the main boardwalk, and also a bit further to the go carts. I would absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for a peaceful camping experience close to Weirs Beach.

We called looking to stay for one or two nights and ended up staying for five! Mostly seasonal campers with trailers and fifth wheels, but with a good selection of sites for passers-through like us in small RVs and tents. Spacious, terraced sites under a leafy canopy with increasingly open views of Lake Winnipesaukee's Paugus Bay as you move down through the campground toward the shoreline. They have a great, reasonably priced camp store with ice, firewood, bait, grocery staples and miscellaneous camping gear. We loved how easy and convenient it was to walk or ride our bikes into Weirs Beach for dining and drinks. The bathrooms and free, hot showers were in great working order and spotlessly clean throughout our stay. The campground is family owned and operated (since 1980!) and the family members we met (George and Laurie) were super helpful and a delight to talk to. Would definitely camp here again.

This campground was amazing! The couple at the front were so helpful! We stayed the weekend they were closing for the season. They helped us pick a site with a beautiful view of the bay and not too far from the bathhouse. The bathhouse was immaculately clean! We enjoyed walking the campground at to get our steps. Highly recommend!

We just spent a week here with our three teenager boys and it was a great experience. Beautiful views, right from our campsite. Private beach on small cove and easy access to lake under small bridge. We launched kayaks and spent time exploring the lake. The bathroom was clean as well as campground and everyone was friendly. We can’t wait to return next year!

We booked a site for Memorial Day Weekend back in February and were fortunate enough to get a waterview site. Sire #5 was spacious, level, a good mix of sun and shade. Price for the 3 night stay with power & water was very reasonable. Staff were friendly from the point of reservation, to when we checked out and every time in between. ||||Overall the campground is large, with about 90% seasonal sites. Quiet hours and strictly enforced, bathrooms are nice and very clean. Nice beach area with a playground as well. We kayaked around Paugus Bay mid-morning on Saturday. Little choppy but was a nice paddle. Not sure I would venture too far out in the afternoon with the amount of boat traffic out there.||||Camp store is well stocked and reasonable. They also have canoes/kayaks for rent. We enjoyed our weekend so much we booked already for next year.

We stayed Thursday-Monday over Memorial day weekend and had a great time! We checked in and the lady at the desk was very friendly and told us how to get to our campsite and assured me I would do fine backing in my camper and gave me a couple tips as this was our maiden voyage. The transient sites are very spacious, woodsy and offer views of the cove. A downfall is that there are only 3 transient sites with sewer hook-up. There is a cute little beach where kids play and adults sit in the sun. There is plenty to do on the water, boating and fishing off the docks was very popular as well as floating on rafts. There is a path that you can take to walk to Weirs beach and there are other activities up the road such as go carts, climbing elements and mini golf. The people that we met here, seasonals and transients, were very friendly as I have been to other campgrounds where they are a bit snooty. Other staff members I encountered were friendly and the owner even asked me if I need a ride back to my site in his golf cart one time. The bath house was clean. The other downfall is that they take only cash or check. I would of reserved for next year but didn’t have a cash or check to do so. I will definitely be back to Paugus Bay campground, we loved it!

Great place for families. The people who run it seem to really care about their guests. Very friendly. Located about 1/2 mile walk from Weirs Beach so lots to do within an easy distance. No sewer hookups for transient sites but they do have a dump station and will loan you a cart you can use to do a manual dump. We enjoyed our trip and have already booked again for next year.

This place is Lake Winnipesaukee’s best kept secret! Located on a quiet cove, there is a great beach for the kids to swim and a raft. You can bring your jet skis and kayaks. We’ve walked to the weirs, and even paddle boarded over to the Naswa! Great spot to bring your camper and kids!

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and I have never had an issue. It's located on the Paugus Bay right down the street from Weirs beach. They have sites for all types of campers, including on the water. The price is very fair and they sell wood/ice as well. The office is connected to a nice little game room with ping pong, pool, books, puzzles, and toys for children. The people here are very nice and even lent my young neice a life jacket so she could go out on the boat. All in all a great time. Camp here!

Yelp
We only stayed here because they refused to let my friend cancel her reservation with several months' notice, but allowed her to transfer it to me. The site we stayed on (113) is the only transient site with a view that isn't on a busy road. It's super rocky and the water spigot flows into the only area flat enough to pitch a tent, but the view and proximity to attractions made it worth it. (FYI the "beach" is minuscule and always crowded.) The price was reasonable, and the people were friendly, so we rebooked for next year. After paying our deposit and securing the same site for next year we ordered a custom base for our tent to elevate it off the rocks and protect it from the water flow. Three days after it shipped, Paugus Bay Campground called to cancel our reservation with some story about dates shifting because of Bike Week, but when we agreed to take whatever dates were available they admitted they were giving our reservation to people who've been staying there longer and that we wouldn't be getting that site again. I understand taking care of your regulars, but they took the reservation and our deposit. Now we're out $800 for equipment we ordered specifically for this site, and when I tried to explain that Sue (?) nastily told me "That's not our problem." It disgusting that there were no cancellations allowed for my friend, but that my reservation is meaningless and I was essentially told to go f**k myself. I'm sure it's lovely to stay here if you've been doing so for decades, but there is no hospitality here for newcomers.

Yelp
I used to come here as a teen with my family, and last weekend I took my kids here. The kids had a blast! It's a very convenient location, and the beach area was just right! The people in charge were very understanding, friendly, answered all my questions. I was very happy here and will definitely come back with the kids! Thank You!

Yelp
My husbands aunt has been coming here for years and nabbing the same exact camp spot. This place draws an interesting mix of folks, we have seen families with young kids such as ourselves, pets, friends, reunions, older folks - pretty much all walks! There's a mix of permanent trailers type homes as well as spots for campers. We are lucky to be right on the water, the spot is pretty shady and under trees which is great if you hang out at the site during the day. The scenic train goes right by which is pretty cool. The beach is super close, walking distance. We are right near a small bridge pass through so many boats, jet skis, paddle boarders come through. So, the bathrooms are super clean - I mean top notch. They have a laundry room as well! And if you have little one, there is a playground although a little dated and we found there to be a ton of mosquitos when we went. This place is a fantastic spot, walking distance from Weird beach and boardwalk, close to Meredith and a ton of other fantastic touristy spots. The only downside is with a little one trying to sleep in a camper, some folks are out partying on the boats until very late - boats/jet skis are going all day and all night. also, with rainfall since there are a lot of trees, it gets very loud in the camper and there are acorns following as well as the rain. These are all minor things and it truly has been a fantastic time!

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience as a 3-year seasonal camper!!! The 4 owners seem to target seasonal campers each year and make false accusations about them. They lie and make up false stories if they don't like you because you don't bow down to them! When asked for proof of their false accusations, George & Lori could not produce "their video" when in fact, I had proof from the app Life360 that we were not involved in the incident because we weren't even in the campground when it occurred. I was then told to sell my camper/site by May 1st but when I emailed them proof that we weren't in the campground at the time of the incident, they then told me I had until January 1st to get out or they would remove my camper and store it at my expense. Not only was I yelled at like a small child by Rob & Sue for an incident that never involved me, which all of my neighbors tried to explain to them, but none of the 4 owners will listen to a word you have to say. Their actions were completely unwarranted! After my own investigation, I found out which site's friends were the guilty party and I found they have made false accusations towards several seasonal campers. Two friends sold their sites because of such issues. I guess I should have complained each time I saw their brother peeing off of his porch at 1AM because he couldn't make it to the bathroom!!! Totally despicable humans! Plenty of better campgrounds out there!!!!!

Yelp
Very nice weekend visit at the end of June. Quiet campground, well run by friendly staff. Very tight roads within the campground, difficult to maneuver and to wedge into the site, hence 4 stars vs. 5. Typical amenities, plus nice little beach. Game room with great shuffleboard setup and loaner books/games. Super convenient location, near Weirs beach. 24 hr convenience store down the street.

Yelp
PBC can improve by confirming reservations, not double-booking, removing Sue from any interaction with customers as she is rude, unprofessional and hostile. I have been visiting Paugus Bay for many years because I have friends there. They can improve by showing some respect and gratitude for the non-seasonal customers who have shown their establishment patronage for years. This year, I bought an RV and called to book 3 weeks. Not their fault, due to COVID-19 that the June and July weeks were canceled. I completely understood but had a week booked for August. Sue took and confirmed my reservation - then called and accused me of "playing games" and lying about it because she or another staff member clearly made a mistake. I tried to explain to her that some error occurred, she argued with me, told me she was cancelling my reservation, called me a liar and hung up on me. I have never been treated so poorly in my life for just trying to camp with my family and friends. The treatment is unacceptable for any business but I guess when you own a campground you get to treat people however you want. Good riddance Paugus Bay. I will never set foot in the place again unless I get a personal apology.

Yelp
Very nice campground. Beautiful views of the lake. Amazing, friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable staff. Owners will bend over backwards to make sure that you have a good time at their site. Close to weirs beach and other activities. I would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Excellent campground located perfectly within walking distance to Weirs Beach! There is a nice walking path from the campground to Weirs. I stayed here in July 2015 and was very happy with everything. We are definitely planning to go back this coming summer. The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. I'm excited to stay here again!

Yelp
Loved it. Really great campground right on the water. Spaces are big and everything is a short walk. People were super friendly, they were even having a talent show! Just a short walk to Weirs Beach too. Really great find!
