"I stopped at Paul, a bakery just outside Nice-Ville station that opens at 5:30 a.m. and has fresh croissants and coffee, sandwiches, cheesy baked goods, and sweets to fuel your adventure." - Kimberley Lovato

Ordered a Latte 33cl on Terminal and got Caffee Creme. Just tasted like two Espresso shots without any hint of milk. I expected a bit more from Paul, especially for about 4€ a drink.

Yes, this is at a train station but even in that context, this place is particularly abysmal. Ordered 3 croissants, received 4 but 2 were burnt black on the bottom. I guess they did their best to try to make up for giving us inedible food. Ordered latte and received coffee without any dairy. Nice to be able to order by kiosk but very few options still available, even as early as 9am. Sandwiches passable, skimpy on ingredients for the price. Pigeons flying around all over the place inside.

Two weeks ago, while visiting Monaco, we found ourselves at the Paul sandwich shop at Gare SNCF de Nice. Being long-time fans of Paul in London – particularly for their delicious pastries and unforgettable rhubarb tarts – we were pleased to find a familiar place during our travels. The location is convenient, situated right at the station, which made it easy for a quick stop. The atmosphere was quite lively, and despite being near a major train hub, there were no queues. Service was impressively fast, which is a huge plus when travelling. The staff were excellent – friendly, efficient, and very welcoming, making the experience smooth and pleasant. As for the food, it lived up to expectations. The pastries were as fresh and tasty as we remembered, and the sandwiches were satisfying and nicely presented. It is clear that Paul maintains its high standards when it comes to food quality, even in such a busy spot. The only drawback was the cleanliness of the premises. Although the seating area and counters were functional and serviceable, the place felt a little untidy and could have benefited from more regular cleaning, especially given the steady stream of travellers passing through. Overall, we were happy with our visit. Quick service, delicious food, and excellent staff made it a positive experience, despite the minor issue with cleanliness. If you are passing through Nice and in need of a reliable spot for a pastry or sandwich, Paul at the Gare SNCF is definitely worth a visit – just don’t expect spotless surroundings.

The service was very slow, and the staff were rude. The coffee was awful, and when I asked for a replacement (since i barely touched it), they refused. Save yourself the trouble — avoid this place and go somewhere nearby instead.

Service is very dry, workers looked annoyed. I do understand is a very busy location but come on every table is dirty leftovers and trash everywhere.

Serve the purpose. Sit down with a coffee to wait for your train. Fast service, above average sandwiches and desserts at reasonable price. They have large size cup for coffee if you are not happy with the tiny coffee they use here.

Worst coffee I have ever had. Also not very clean. I do not recommend

Horrible place …they sell products from Lidl but for extremely high prices. I recommend going 300-400 metres from the train station and you can find there Lidl where you can buy almost everything offered by this backery.

Yelp
As a chain bakery, they have lots of locations in France so I wasn't totally thrilled to grab breakfast here originally since my experience with them in Paris has been mediocre compared to other Parisian bakeries. However I have to say they are probably one of the better bakery options in the Nice area that I tried, most of the other well-rated places seemed to veer toward an under-cooked kinda oily interior for their croissants which I'm not a huge fan of. I tried the chausson aux pommes (apple-filled pastry) €2.80 and it had a delightfully crispy and flaky exterior and a tasty puréed apple interior, thicker than apple sauce but more liquidy than I expected. Either way it was a delicious start to the morning and I'd stop by again given the convenience of being located directly outside the central Nice train station. They have seating inside and outside the restaurant, probably enough for about 25-30 people in total. They serve regular cafe coffee drinks (espresso, cappuccino, latte, matcha latte, etc) and combo pastry/drink options as well. Overall pretty reasonably priced.

Yelp
Paul is a chain, and I'd love to tell you about the great Indy patisserie a fifteen minute walk away. But, this place has good pastries, decent coffee, and quick and polite service at the train station. It's among the best train station breakfast experiences I've had. If you're hungry as you're waiting to take a train out of Nice, this place is a godsend.

Yelp
Stopped in for a pastry before taking the train. Paul's is right next to the train station so it was perfect. Clean little cafe with quick service and even better pastries!

Yelp
This is right near the train so it's perfect if you want to grab something before heading to your train. Fairly quick service too. Their pastries and quiches are great. The quiche has a great flaky crust to it. Plenty of seats inside and out and if not you can do take away and they'll pack your goodies to go along with napkins and utensils as needed.
