Paulaner Festzelt

Disgraceful. I rarely leave reviews, but after reading other negative comments, I felt compelled to share my experience. To say the service here is poor would be an understatement. Of course, Oktoberfest is chaotic by nature, and I respect the waitstaff who have to work under intense pressure. However, coming from a culture where the customer is valued, I was shocked at how dismissively we were treated—as though we owed them something. In reality, they profit thanks to guests like us. One waitress in particular, D. (on the balcony - not disclosing her entire name), fell far below the standards anyone should expect. There was a misunderstanding with the food orders: we were served dishes we hadn’t requested, and instead of resolving the issue, the staff tried to pressure us into accepting them. She even called security on us. To his credit, the security guard handled the situation with far more professionalism and tried to understand what had happened. When we realised what the mix-up might have been, I attempted to mediate in my best German, apologising on behalf of our entire group, thus hoping to find a diplomatic solution. Instead, the waitress refused, declared the matter closed, and told us she would only return to charge us, not to take further orders. Worse still, she turned other staff members against us, ensuring that any additional orders we placed were delayed. Our group had a reservation for 20 people and plenty of prior experience at Oktoberfest, but this was by far the most disappointing service we have encountered. Needless to say, no tip was given.

Torn between 3 and 5 stars. Experience will vary and depend on service. Last year & this year 5/5 at a reserved table for the evening. But had quite a rude waiter this Monday morning when I was trying to use my remaining food / drink vouchers. The table next to me was asked if that is all for tipping 4€ tip on their 46€ food order. Maybe it’s cause it was a non reserved area? Food prices are insanely high :) Hirsch was really good, schnitzel was not worth 29€.

We went during the day on a reserved table. Food and beer was good! Rarely were the glasses full when they arrived- too much foam at the top. Fun tent when popular music was playing.

Yes, Oktoberfest. I've been there ten plus times and Paulaner Festzelt is one of our regulars (first time a beer cost like €10 Euro's, now its €15,40, but thats in every tent. Heating outside, party inside. I was here this weekend. One of the more popular and accessible (if you aren't a Münchner). Food is good and traditional. Can take a while but you're sitting there drinking beer. So no rush. Oktoberfest in general is something that you ride like a wave. Just go with the flow and in the end it will be all right

The overall experience was disappointing. OKTOBERFEST In general is an overrated festival. People are rude, servers and employees are rude. You will Not find a table to enjoy inside if you don't reserve for at least 6 people . I was only able to sit outside where it was rainy and of course all the "fun" are inside every tents. I felt like they treat tourists as if they were making us a favor when we actually have them make lots of money 👎👎👎

Stole my money in the name of “drink money” for the waitress and then when I complained about it she pulled out the “Security!” trick like I’M the scammer here. Of course security took me out with force and no one listened to me. I advise everyone not to go there and I will never buy Paulner again.

One of the most racist halls i have been to, so much that even the black security guards here are racist. The push you and shove you around as they wish, even though you have a table inside. One of the worst Oktoberfest experiences one can have, never go to Paulaner

The best tent at Oktoberfest

Amazing pavilion at Oktoberfest. We stopped in for a liter of beer early in the afternoon. We sat with a few German folks that really didn't speak English so conversation was short. Then at the next table sat some Texans so things got fun. We had great fun joking with them. The pavilion was beautiful.

Huge temple to Paulaner Bier, a must see during Oktoberfest! During the day, they have a German Band-fun to listen to! Huge pretzels to pair with your liter of beer (no need to go anywhere for it-someone will come by with a big basket).

Super fun beer garden! Paulaner had the advantage of being placed quite close to the Bavaria Statue within the festival grounds. Music trickles through into the patio area, so if you can't get into the actual tent and want an enjoyable experience, you're still in luck. We easily found seats midday on a Sunday. We decided to split a stein and didn't order food. Their menu did look delicious though -- just a bit too pricey. You can find way cheaper bites at other vendors. If you're going to sit here, have a purchased product in front of you. We were checked on very often as I think they wanted to turn over the space for other patrons.

Yep! The best at Octoberfest ! Beer and food so amazing! That' s a place to have fun with friends.

I really enjoyed this tent! Get there early (of course) and get yourself a good seat though! We didn't get there until 9am and they had already closed off the tent, so we were outside in the "biergarten" part of it, but it wasn't too chilly and the servers were still very attentive (considering how many people they were serving). They made an excellent radler for me, and my friend really enjoyed her beers as well. Sidenote: We deliberately skipped the Hofbrauhaus tent, because we went to dinner at the original the night before AND we took a look at the crowd- mostly tourists like us, and barely anyone was dressed up!
