The meals were great. Decent portion sizes and service was good. Price was a bit expensive, and groups of 4 or more slap a big service charge. Typical Dublin prices really innit

Google
The food was incredible! Every dish was bursting with authentic Italian flavour. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauces were rich and flavorful. The ingredients were so fresh and high-quality, you could taste the difference. The chef takes pride in their craft, as the presentation was beautiful. "The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout the meal. Can't wait to go back and try another dish.

Accidentally stumbled upon it and felt like I had landed in a pizzeria in Naples! Their flavors are super authentic and love the storytelling all around the cafe! The cheese, the pizza and the pasta was 🤌🤌🤌

Google
The BEST NAPOLITANA PIZZA I had in Dublin so far! And this zuppa di pesce is so good too! Ingredients are fresh not frozen. Their calzone Oh mama mia! Perfetto! Will come back again. Bad thing is - tomorrow I will increase 1kg. 😅

After hearing many great things about this place I finally booked a table before a concert in the Aviva , the place is rammed when there's something on so book in advance , food was excellent , pizza in particular was amazing, started , delicious, amazing coffee, service was hectic but very friendly . Will definitely be going back

Google
This pizzeria delivers consistently excellent service, characterized by a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Their menu features a broad selection of Neapolitan-style pizzas alongside a few distinctive, creative options. Having experienced numerous pizzerias across Italy and Ireland, I can confidently affirm that the quality here is on par with top-tier Italian establishments. The pricing is reasonable, making this an excellent choice for anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying pizza experience in Ireland.

Google
For me, it's the best pizza in Dublin and a very cozy little restaurant. I've been going there every Sunday for months. One of the employees recognizes me now, too. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to get a seat.

I am going to this place for some time now and they always meet my expectations and more. The place is absolutely great, the staff is amazing, the food too. They have the best wood fired pizza i ever tried in Ireland and maybe also the best i ever had anywhere ever. Any pizza you choose you won't regret, they are all amazing, from the dough to the topping, great quality and prepared at a high level. The desserts are also great, not a big choise but the one's they have are something special. All of the staff are great, they will look after you in the best possible way. Altogether, a great real Italian pizzeria that i will hardly ever stop visiting if everything stay at the standard as it is now. I highly recommend to go and try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great spot! We came with no reservation and they were still able to fit us in for dinner. This is a small spot where you can enjoy and watch the kitchen make food. We ordered a margherita pizza and slow-braised beef bolognese. The pizza had some of the best crust I have ever had. It was soft, flavorful, and overall just delicious. Would definitely recommend. Probably best to make a reservation!

Yelp
Pizza? In Dublin? Well, yeah! It's some of the best pizza I've ever had, and the service and ambiance were great. We were there on a chilly night and sat outside, and the waiter brought us hot water bottles and blankets. He was awesome. It's near Aviva Stadium, which is a little out of the way for those staying in Temple Bar or the central city, but well worth the trek.

Yelp
we loved paulies!!! the vibe was so warm and cozy and the service was amazing. norman was a great welcoming presence, boston connections pizza dough was phenomenal so that was a smash hit (except the siciliano was a little too salty) but we left clean plates. and the gnocchi was perfectly pan seared and the cheese on it was delicious. i have to come back

Yelp
As a pre- and post-COVID consumer of Paulie's excellent fare, I can attest that all the great qualities that brought me here in the first place: excellent pizza, quick turnaound times for carry-away, ability to get a reservation, etc. remain in tact and going strong.

Yelp
What an incredible experience! Best pizza & gnocchi I've had, ever! Server Norman also made the visit extra special. So good we went baby two nights in a row.

Yelp
If you're in Dublin, you MUST go here. Seriously. I never write reviews, but I absolutely had to for this place. The food is AMAZING. I didn't know that in Dublin you basically have to make a reservation for dinner every night if you want to eat somewhere. On our first night we came here and they were fully booked and we didn't have a reservation but the manager squeezed us in anyway. The staff here is so friendly and the atmosphere is great. My boyfriend and I ate here twice in our short time here because it was so good & they also have a full bar. We got pizzas and they were delicious, maybe even the best we've ever had. The food came out so quickly each time and I couldn't be happier that I discovered this place.

Yelp
Superb pizza. A well-known destination pizza joint in Beggar's Bush that I'd been meaning to try for years but it's a bit off the beaten track for me. However, my brother lives within spitting distance so we made the cross-town journey for a foursome dinner. I had high expectations and I wasn't disappointed. My double pepperoni was just as I like it. A decent crusty base with lashings of mozzarella and meat. My other half, just to be awkward, had the rigatoni bolognese which was plentiful and equally delicious. A bottle of house red went down very well too. Pauline's is a very small place and, even with an outdoor space, is still on the cozy side. Reservations are mandatory. No point in turning up on spec. You won't get it. It is well worth the effort though. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Outstanding. An unexpected find and the name does not do justice to what you find. Try to start grilled peaches with buffalo mozzarella. Then seafood linguine topped off with thick dark chocolate mousse. Enough to share for only 54 euro. A great neighborhood spot.

T O.

Yelp
Bustling place with a fantastic pizza (maybe the best in Dublin?), creative pasta options, good drinks, and more. But the best part of this place is the staff. Norman has an amazing memory and makes you feel like and old friend as soon as you walk in the door. Laura is a fantastic server, no request too big or small. Paulie's is the pizza restaurant every neighborhood needs. Paulie's books out frequently, so make a booking before you go.

Yelp
Best pizza in Dublin - a bit small to sit in and often very busy, so if that bothers you consider ordering something to go via phone. But I quite like the cozy/squishy atmosphere.

Yelp
Great pizza in a homey authentic Italian ambiance. The interior is cozy, seating only about 30 people-for a larger party, I recommend making a reservation. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend at 7pm on a Sunday and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. The menu is concise yet interesting, offering a variety of wood fired specialty pizzas, pastas, and the additional Italian sides. Nice selection of beer, wine, and craft cocktails as well. Expecting to order a cheese-less pizza, I was pleased to find that they have vegan cheese, and several fully vegan options on the menu. I got the Vegan Pizza, and my boyfriend got a Rigatoni pasta, as well a side of green salad and garlic bread. My pizza was lacking in a few areas. The vegetables on top were tasty, and the vegan cheese was pleasantly mild and melted well. The crust was chewy and flavorful, but too thin in the middle-I'm talking paper thin. It was too flimsy to support the sauce and toppings, and disintegrated into mush. The side salad was tiny and underdressed. The garlic bread, on the other hand, was amazing-hearty fresh sourdough soaked in an intensely flavorful herbed garlic olive oil. Do not skip this. Service was friendly and perfectly attentive. With two glasses of house wine our total came to €65, which felt slightly overpriced for the quality of the meal. Regardless, I enjoyed the experience and would come here again.

Yelp
Super groovy vibe going on here. Scene is casual but super hip. Very busy but we were nicely accommodated. The special starter of gnocchi was so rich, cheesy and decadent. Our calzone was very big and full of salty salami covered by perfect crust. My other family had pizza earlier in the week and loved it. This is a funky spot with amazing food-a must try in Dublin when you can't handle more pub grub.

Yelp
I love Paulie's. Great food, always a lively bustling vibe and even a patio for warm summer nights (I know, it's winter, but it's never too early to plan ahead for next year!). The pizza is obviously a highlight with a perfectly chewy crispy crust. The crust, to me, is everything and if you're also obsessed with this in a pizza, I recommend the Bianca. It's their white base pizza (no tomato sauce), topped with parmesan, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto & rocket. All their pizzas are great, but not having the moisture of the tomato sauce means the crust stays perfect through your entire meal. I've also tried their pot of mussels and the prawn linguine, which was one of the daily specials. They were also good, although the pasta was under-seasoned. I didn't mind that because we were able to easily troubleshoot and remedy that with salt at the table. As other reviewers have mentioned, they do get VERY busy and the service a bit slow. Make a reservation and don't go if you're in a rush to be somewhere afterwards. One last thing - finish your meal with an espresso martini. It was amazing.

Yelp
Nice, cute and good place for pizza in Dublin!!! Good quality food and incredible service and atmosphere!! Totally recommended.... PS: ginger beer is also great!!!!

Yelp
Paulie's is maybe a local treasure. We went on a weeknight, so it wasn't too busy. Though, I imagine that could change drastically on the weekends. My husband got the Zoe, I got the seafood gnocchi special, neither of us were disappointed. I typically don't like meat on pizza, but the sauce/crust on his pizza was fantastic! My gnocchi, for starters, just looked really cool so I had to take a picture. But it also tasted great. We had cocktails, though I can't remember the names. Mine was gin and basil, I believe his was an old fashioned. They were both really excellent, so hopefully the names will come to me at some point in the not-so-distant future.

Yelp
There is always a lot of people. I think Paulie's pizza is the most popular Pizza restaurant in D4 area. I went to there on Tuesday, but even there was full table! Absolutely Foods(especially pizza) is delicious and huge size! If you like pizza, I'm sure you're satisfied when you have a dinner here. The upstairs is full bar. (But you can eat same foods menu) The stuff is friendly. If you want to go there with group, I recommend you take a reservation.

Yelp
Found Paulie's on Yelp, and was not disappointed. Great neapolitan style pizza. I just saw the downstairs area. Cool night, so what looks like mostly open air dining room was zipped up. Cozy, bustling place. Tight quarters. Table next to me was less than a foot away. Not bad, had a nice ambiance, but just be prepared for a tight fit. Looks like there is more room upstairs, maybe? In spite if being full and busy, I was greeted and seated immediately. Server showed up promptly, got drink order promptly, and got my order in fast. Pizza came up in no time. Still wondering if I got someone else's identical order. Lightly sauced, with cheese, Kalamata olives, julienned ham, artichoke hearts, and mushrooms, the pizza was fantastic. Oh, one half of the couple sitting next to me ordered the garlic shrimp entree, and I wondered for a moment if I'd made the wrong choice. Shrimp were huge and garlic smelled wonderful. Great buzz, great service, great food. Wish I had time to go back, but that'll have to wait for the next trip.

Yelp
Easily my favourite pizza place in Dublin. It's always busy and you can only reserve a table on the day so if you fancy a visit, start ringing from four pm. Their starters are gigantic and it's probably best to order one between two people. The deep fried Mozzarella Bocconcini with warm tomato sauce is a great intro to any meal and probably my favourite thing from the starter menu. I've never tried pasta in Paulie's because their pizza is too damn good. My two favourites being Napoletana -tomato sauce, garlic & oregano for €10 and the Margherita D.O.C €12.50. My one criticism of Paulie's is that it can be a wee bit loud if you are sitting downstairs. Upstairs seems to be more chilled and relaxed.

Yelp
Ordered a greek pizza for take away. I thought it would be ready when I arrived based on phone conversation, but I waited almost 10 minutes and that was after a 10 minute walk there. Pizza was good. But the crust got a little soggy by the time I got it home, not their fault, but means I would have liked a crispier crust. The thing that stood out to me was the eggplant was cooked to perfection on the pizza. Would eat again.

Yelp
Well, what more can be said that hasn't been? The pizzas are absolutely delicous, ain't no doubt about it. High quality toppings, well thought out combinations and excellent crust (if a little burnt for me, though some people seem to like that) The vibe is also spot on - nicely candlelit tables, intimate settings but still a casual feeling to it all. Service was very hit and miss. They were busy, fair enough, but aren't they always? The pizzas came straight away, but after that, we must have been waiting half an hour to get our desert menus, another 20 mins to get our bill. Both waiter and waitress were super sound and I could see they were really rushed, but the service really did put a little bit of a dampner on it. Pretty much everything I asked for, from water to desert to the bill, had to be asked for a min of twice. Either way, I'm sure I'll be back, it's a lovely spot. Not entirely sure it deserves the top spot in Dublin for pizza buzz, but it's up there for sure!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try paulies since 2011, expectations were high. And boy was it worth the wait. I'm a major pizza fan and I always complain that outside of Italy people don't know how to make pizza. I sincerely apologise. Paulies you are a dream come true my pizza was amazing and perfect. The crust was crispy and thin yet reliable. You could taste the sauce and it just did this beautiful dance with the cheese which effortlessly complimented the parma ham. As if that wasn't amazing enough my friend paid for dinner so I mean it was pretty much the best meal ever! The atmosphere was great I imagine it would be a great place for a date.
google avatar

Ellen S.

Yelp
We were on our way to grab some lunch elsewhere, but to our surprise found Paulie's open (they usually never open for lunch!) Their lunch menu is exactly the same as their evening menu (same price!), plus the specials that day were mainly pizza's coming in at 16 euro. Not a cheap lunch for an ordinary friday, but we figured we deserve a little (or actually Big in this case) treat. The pizza in Paulie's is nice and thin, although the dough a bit chewy. Toppings were okay, but my 'roast tomatoes' were nothing but ordinary plum tomatoes from a tin. I don't think their pesto is fresh either, it tasted like the ones you get in a jar. I might have become a bit of a pizza snob after I spent 10 days in Tuscany - but I guess for Dublin standards the pizza here is pretty good. It's big enough as well, and I got half boxed up for dinner tonight.

Yelp
We finally got to sit down here for the first time recently, when we got here early enough to nab a table outside. Before then it was always take out after arriving to find no free tables, inside or out. As I said, before then we ordered takeout, which takes no time at all. About five mins of waiting to be honest and your pizza is ready to take home. Or on one occasion when we were passing on our bikes, we ate the pizza at the pillar on the opposite side of the junction. Pizza never tasted so good as it does after an epic bike ride down by Poolbeg. My favourite is the Super Picante - spicy salami, fresh chilli, red peppers, rocket, tomato & smoked mozzarella. I've had others from the menu since, but they come nowhere near. Some day we will think of Paulies ahead of time and book a table inside :)

Yelp
A cool spring evening in Dublin and discovering the ultimate authentic Italian pizza place (thanks for the hot tip Yelpers). We sat outside with the luxury of an outdoor heater and lap blankets on every chair. There was no salad on the menu, but the kitchen put together two special orders of fresh greens, topped by a lovely shaved Parmesan and drizzled with a balsamic dressing. They were delicious! The pizza selection was inventive without being weird (you know what I mean), with thin open-oven baked crust and fresh ingredients. Lots of choices here. For dessert we shared a light custard dish topped with fresh berries. Perfect! We had a bottle of the house red wine. It was fairly priced, light bodied, and a bit sour. For the price it was acceptable, but not memorable. (We're from Sonoma County, CA and a bit spoiled when it comes to wine.) Pauline's is a fabulous restaurant and I highly recommend it!!

Yelp
Ive been waiting to go to this place for ages due to all the positive word of mouth and it absolutely met all my expectations. The pizza was really quickly made and delicious, probably my favourite in dublin. The toppings were so well done and the base divine. I took some of the pizza home with me and it was almost as good the day after! Very reasonable price too.
google avatar

Yelp
I am Italian and I had quit ordering pizzas at restaurants in Dublin. The prices comparing to the quality are way too high everywhere for my standards of good pizzas. Anyways, I was seduced to try Paulie's pizza by a friend of mine (italian as well and very reliable in terms of food taste), so we went together on a busy saturday night. Both the service and the food were excellent. We had a bruschetta with buffalo mozzarella to share and 2 pizzas. It was about time for me to find a well-worth pizza here. Paulie's would be my only choice everytime i will fancy an original Pizza in Dublin. highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great place for a local dish pizza. We ordered the spicy Italian pizza called the Spicy Picante but asked for the peppers on the side because we were afraid it would be too spicy! The place is small so be prepared not to talk about anything clandestine. The waitress staff is real friendly and the service is quick. They have a fire oven so any pizza that your order has that smokey taste.
google avatar

V J.

Yelp
Really some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. SometimesNY style pizza outside the U.S. can be rolling the dice. Excellent pizza and great service. As some others have noted here, it is small and it will probably be crowded. Recommend calling ahead for a show-time. They do move people through fairly quickly.
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was perfect: food, service, ambiance and music. I definitely recommand this restaurant

Yelp
I have been in Paulie s Pizza a lot of time as it is my favourite place where you can have an amazing pizza! I am italian, so i can say that having a pizza there makes me feel at home all the time!! I love it...the food is amazing, especially the pizza, and the staff too! I suggest to everybody to check it out, especially if you are looking for a friendly place and an incredible pizza ... a really nice choice!!

Yelp
I had heard the rumors and the rumors were true- this place is gooood! I actually went here for the first time the day Ireland played France in the Six Nations. Even though the place was packed we managed to get a table for three within 20 minutes. The staff were extremely courteous. We sat for a drink at the bar upstairs. I ordered a cocktail that wasn't on the menu and the bar tender was still happy to make it. Most importantly it also tasted great! We ordered the mussels to start which in itself would have been a full meal for one person. Then you have to order the pizza. Great selection of freshly made stone based pizza's. I could only eat half as I was already extremely full but brought it home and finished it off the next day. Can't wait to go back- wish it was closer to city centre!
google avatar

Ross F.

Yelp
Located just at the top of bath Ave, Paulies pizza, is one of the best pizza I've had in Dublin, always so busy every time I go, and I'm not surprised! Staff are very friendly which makes you want to keep coming back! Well worth a visit, highly recommend it for all pizza lovers! You shall not be disappointed
google avatar

Joel B.

Yelp
Delicious pizza and great service! Went here to enjoy a pizza and was not disappointed - the pie came out cooked perfectly with some of the oven ash on the crust (let's you know it's cooked right). The service was great all the way through until the end - there was a rush and we had to wait a while for our check, but this was a small detail in light of the main experience. The ingredients were portioned perfectly, not too much cheese and just enough sauce (I had the Roxy). Beware of the intersection out front though! We didn't drive but saw many close calls, the staff also warned us that this was no drivers playground.
google avatar

Mark J.

Yelp
I checked the reviews on yelp, saw the picture of a pizza and decided to eat there. I only got a pizza, but boy do I wish there was a pizzeria that could make a pizza like this close to me in LA. My pizza had salami, roasted peppers and garlic on it, on a thin chewy crust. Delicious. I told the waiter to bring my bill before I ordered another pizza.

Yelp
Hello, reader. I love pizzas. Only odd persons doesn't. Does this makes me even (person) then? :) No importante. This text is about Paulie's Pizza. Just back from Sicily and had a chance to eat at Frida Pizzeria (trip advisor http://goo.gl/KkRyqG). Have pretty good experience with proper pizzas. Three stars for price and food quality ratio. Service was great. We were asked during meal, if everything was ok or not. Bill arrived super quickly. Not everything was so great, tho. Place was packed. We got a table on 1st floor. I almost turned around and left. The level of noise was far too big. Check it out yourselves http://goo.gl/IFJtC8 (dropbox). Recorded file is twice as noisy as there was. I'll put it this way. It was difficult to hear my own thoughts. That bad. For the sake of ratings (on yelp) we stayed and ordered. One great recommendation I must make is Grill Peach and Bacon with Mozzarella cheese. That blew us away. Pizzas Super Picante (not that "super" hot at all) and Calzone were a let down. Calzone was a fail in general, not recommending. (My) Main issue with pizzas there is their base. Base is so chewy, that gives you under-baked dough feel, or maybe that what was in fact. Didn't like. Probably that's why so many people would leave edges of pizza not eaten as why would you eat "dough". Next beer. €5.50 for 0.33 l Peroni. Go and f...ink about your prices. I might not write so unpleasantly and aggressively, but there were no mentioning of size! Pizzas were priced at €15 each. Price does not match the pizzas we tasted. Overpriced. I see why this place is popular and is worth coming to try and, perhaps, to fall in love with it, but it's not my love for sure.

Yelp
If ever you get a goo for some quality pizza, look no further than Paulie's. In my experience there are only one or two pizza places in Dublin that can give these guys a run for their money. The menu contains a number of pasta dishes but if you're looking past the 'za, you're an idiot. The Super Picante, Caprese and Hero are all incredible and if you're feeling a bit fruity, the Junior's Pizza is worth a try. Its rammed 7 nights a week but you'll always get in with a few hours notice. Also does takeaway if you're a true fiend.
google avatar

Yelp
Pizza was absolutely delicious. Came back with the family twice. Everything was right about the pizza, the sauce, the mozz, the crust, everything. Perfect personal size pizza too. A little loud in the upstairs seating, but in the downstairs section, the audio level is good.
google avatar

Dikla B.

Yelp
I resisted this place for so long as it's close to my work and all my colleagues go here. Really, I resisted, I protested, avoided, came up with any other option, but really. Resistance is futile. Paulie's is one the best pizza places in Dublin. It just is. From delicious veggie options to the meat lovers options, Paulie's has it all. And they just get it right. So, so right that you shouldn't be a fool like I was for too long. Reserve yourself a table (yes, you absolutely need to reserve) and treat yourself to pizza done right. No need to add anymore, if you want good pizza, get it right here.

Meredith P.

Yelp
Love love love love love. There is no better option for a great food experience than Paulie's when it comes to pizza. Large groups, dates, families - it's perfect for anyone looking for amazing Italian food and really fun environment. I went with a large party and we got loads of food and cocktails. Paulie's staff was on point and were pleasant to interact with. Large groups can be stressful, but it was no sweat for them! The jugs of cocktails are so scrumptious and are only 26 Euro. They serve 6 glasses! They're not boring cocktails either - Elderflower Collins, raspberry mojitos, Long Islands, Pineapple Express. All were really good - and strong if you're into it! The food was nothing short of mouth watering. The meatballs were soaked in the tomato sauce and topped with cheese - the meat was so juicy! The best. I had the prawn pasta special, pappardelle chorizo dish, and the super picante pizza. Did I mention I shared this? You need to so you can try as many items as possible!
google avatar

Abby F.

Yelp
Who knew that one of the best pizzas I'd have would be in Ireland! Very good pizza and great staff.
google avatar

Jennie C.

Yelp
Paulie's pizza is one of the best pizza places I've ever had. The dough/crust is just amazing. Call in ahead to get some reserved seating (or show up and leave it to luck to see if someone missed their reservation). However, if you're just getting takeaway, they can have a pizza ready for you in five minutes! Awesome. I always go for the super picante (yum) since I need a bit of spice - there's pasta and calzone too if you're not feeling like pizza. They have Brewdog Punk IPA as well!
google avatar

Adam C.

Yelp
I've been to Paulie's twice now, finally braving the reports of long wait times. I pass it on my walk home from work and the packed tables every night (even Tuesday now) finally made me get over my annoyance about the lack of reservations. Put your name down, go have a pint in Slattery's next door - it's worth the wait. Best thin, crispy pizza I've had outside of Italy, I have gone with the special each time and loved it. I even had a go of my wife's leftovers the next day and it was very tasty, even though her order was not exactly my cup of tea. Just sad I waited so long, this place is fantastic.
google avatar

Sebastian F.

Yelp
What's there left to say. Simply the best pizza restaurant in Dublin. Full stop. Quality/presentation of the food: excellent. I've been to quite a few Italian places in and around Dublin but Paulie's tops it. The portions have a decent size and you won't leave the place still starving after having paid a fortune, like it happened to me many times around here. The restaurant itself is not too big (make sure to book a table well in advance) but the staff handles the business friendly and attentive. If you show up for the first time, expect a quirky atmosphere - good for groups, couples, or dates. And I bet you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Paulie's Pizza falls into the category of restaurants that I am reluctant to review. It's not that the pizza there is not delicious; that the cocktails are not tasty; that the food is not reasonably price; nor is it that the staff is not efficient yet discreet. No. All of the above is as good as it gets. The reason I am reluctant to review Paulie's Pizza is that it has tons of ambience and plenty of regulars there to prove that it's a brilliant place for a nice meal or a date; that means that if I tell you how nice it is, being able to get a seat for myself will get that much harder. So, please don't read this review. Don't go. Let me have this place to myself. PS: the pizza oven is imported from Naples, has a low roof, and pizze when they come out have a fantastically charred/grilled base which tastes wonderful. Try the equally tempting pasta instead, so that I can have my pizza in peace. Buon appetito.

Yelp
It took me a while to get around to writing this review and I've been in countless times since they opened. I expected so much from Paulies and it delivers on all fronts. It is hands down the best pizza joint in the country. Actually it is probably the first real pizza joint in the country. The dough has the perfect combination of chew, crust, and burn and each of the pizzas is perfectly balanced in terms of toppings. I've yet to have one where I could have done with more X or a little less Y. This is down to good recipes and the professionalism of their pizzaiolo who not only cooks but also inspects and garnishes the pizzas as they come to the pass. Proper order. Besides the food the music is great, the staff are good craic, the service is excellent. The whole atmosphere is conducive to eating and boozing and can get a little boisterous as any real pizza place should. The Juniors boys continue to push open the Dublin eating scene and with Paulies they have the blueprint for what casual eating should always be like in this city. At fucking last. **** In response to the other reviews, the pizzas certainly aren't pre cooked and the addition of toppings after cooking is perfectly normal for a pizza that has bresaolo, proscuitto, rocket or any other ingredient that would get destroyed in a real pizza oven. As for the shells, the whole point of having shellfish on a pizza is for the base to soak up the juices from the shell as it opens.

Yelp
I go here so often it is getting to be embarassing but it is just that good. On my latest trip, I did the unthinkable - no pizza - just pasta, duck ragu on parpadelle and eggplant parm special - so good. Also, a perfectly dressed salad with a delicious balsamic vinagrette. I wonder if they would adopt me? Also, I would love it if they would open up more restaurants - how about a Junior's empire?

Yelp
We went here as Junors was closed and I have to admit that I was not looking forward to eating here as I am not a great fan of Pizza or Pasta. BUT we decided to have 2 starters each and not a P or P in site. The first starter was the pork belly which was divine and I enjoyed every mouthful. It was served on a bed of rocket and roasted peppers with a trickle of balsamic vinegar. Perfect. Our next starter was the mussels served with a chunk of garlic brad and parsley in an excellent sauce. Heaps of Garlic so I was happy. There was a mix up with our order as they thought that we were sharing the mussels and so only one dish arrived which we did share. To be honest they did offer to bring another bowl of mussels but the portions are a good size so the extra mussels was not needed. Next we did share a Tiramasu which was perfect with the right balance of taste and flavour but not too sweet of over creamy. Perhaps a little more alcohol would have made it extra good but I was certainly not going to complain. I guzzled a glass of yummy red wine while my friend abstained due to Lent....I did point out there was alcohol in the Tiramasu but I am sure God would forgive her. One star off as I noticed a fly on the bread on the counter which I pointed out to our waitress and suggested that a tea towel would rectify the problem. I noticed they did put a tea towel over the bread but I did not notice them chuck the bread the fly had been cavorting on. No matter I have done worse...turkey ....floor....dusted it .....ate it! A very enjoyable evening. I was thinking about 4 stars but put it back up to 5 stars as they took hotty bottles to the people eating outside. I love dedication to customers in a restaurant. Writing this I can still taste the Garlic. Cost of meal €36.50 we left a tip and also a Yelp card.

Yelp
We went back to Paulie's a second time on our 5-day trip in Dublin because we loved one dish so much: the grilled peaches (with mozzarella, walnut pesto, arugula, prosciutto). So delicious! The other items (especially the provolone fondue with crispy pear and speck) were also really solid, but it's that grilled peaches dish I'll be dreaming about...

Yelp
I haven't had all the pizza in Dublin, but a few bites of my pizza here is enough to convince me that this really must be the BEST pizza in Dublin. The pizza selection is divided into 4 sections: Naples, New York, House Creations, and the blackboard specials. In all, there are more than 15 selections to choose from, all of which looked incredibly delicious and will run you around 14 Euro for a 12". I ordered the Super Picante, which has spicey salami, fresh chillis, red peppers, rocket, chilli oil, tomato & smoked mozzarella. The pizza arrived relatively fast, especially considering that we had 7 people at the table who all ordered their own pie. The flavors, the textures, and the crust (nicely done with a bit of chew from the wood fire oven) were a combination to write home about. In fact, it could rival any of the pizzas that I had in Italy this past summer. I heard that the other non-pizza dishes were fantastic here as well, but unfortunately, I did not have the stomach space to try them. I did, however, managed to fit in a bite of the tiramisu and it was amazing! Very rich and delicious. Highly recommend. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the space. Although it's small (6 indoor tables max), it is super hip and has an exposed kitchen. There are also a few tables outdoors. They provide blankets for each person and a leopard-print hot water pillow to fend off the cold temperatures. I liked the artwork on the walls (in particular the Mike Davis Alphabet print) and the music, which changes throughout the night, created a great vibe as well. The service was also exceptionally friendly and fun. Very well-deserving of the high ratings it has gotten here on yelp!
