On the Grid : Pause Cat Cafe

"The premise is simple: surround yourself with feline friends and you feel better. It may seem like crazy, but if you're away from home, love in a flat that doesn't allow pets, or just need some company, the difference a short pause with some paws can make is incredible, The menu is locally sourced, sustainable, healthy and artisan in keeping with the overall ethos of wellbeing. Without a doubt, there's no other cafe in town like this." - Bright Blue Day

We had a lovely visit here this weekend. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the welfare of the cats is taken very seriously, and the cafe is very clean. The cats are absolutely adorable. Great selection of ve/gf options, sadly the kitchen had a problem so no food on the day we went but we had a lovely drink and enjoyed the cats. Love that they hire people with learning difficulties. 10/10 place

Such a lovely place. All the staff are so friendly and knowledgeable - especially Taylor who made a lovely impression on me and my partner! All the cats are so cute and it's lovely to see everyone so happy with them! A lot of the food is vegan or made with alternatives (soy/oat milk for example) or offered to be made with alternatives, which is lovely but not my preference :)

Never thought in a million years I would visit a cat café but this little gem was a great experience. Booked as a surprise treat for my boyfriend who adores cats, ended up having a pretty nice time myself 😊. Staff/volunteers were accommodating and informative about each cat and the cats were strutting/lazing around like they own the place, as they rightly should and obviously do. Worth a visit! Food was nice and the box idea was very good (to stop cats stealing).

We stopped at the cat café during our day out, and it was absolutely brilliant! It was so lovely having all the cats around us — they were so calm and friendly. We sat downstairs in the main cat playroom, and there was a cat sitting on the armchair next to us the whole time, which was just adorable! The food was delicious, everything was beautifully presented in little lunchboxes so the cats couldn’t get to it (such a clever idea!). We also had lattes, which were really yummy and came with the cutest little chocolate cat face stencilled on top. The staff were super friendly and gave us lots of information about each of the cats, which made the whole experience even more special. If you love cats (or just want a cosy, unique café experience), I’d definitely recommend visiting — it’s the purrfect spot for a relaxing treat! 🐾☕️🐱

My first experience with a cat cafe and aside from seeing the cats and the tasty food, I wasn't expecting the slight odour of cat wee. It marred an otherwise exciting visit. I would recommend visiting one if you're a cat lover but it wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Cute cats and plenty of toys! If you're there to see the cats, you'll have a good time! They're adorable and some are raring for a gentle scratch. The young ones tend to be racing along of the floor and some might play too. The food was nice, and come in little boxes to keep safe from the cats but none seemed too interested in them. Unfortunately the 'frozen strawberry' drink was completely room temperature which was disappointing on a hot summer day.

Pause Cat Café is an absolute dream for cat lovers! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most adorable and friendly cats, each with their own personality. Eddie and Max were especially charming—so playful and affectionate! The staff were wonderful—so kind, attentive, and clearly passionate about both the café and the well-being of the cats. The whole place is really well run, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere where both guests and feline residents are happy. The food was delicious, and while it would have been nice to have a non-vegetarian or vegan option, I really can't fault what was served—it was fresh, tasty, and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, Pause Cat Café is a perfect place to relax, enjoy some quality time with adorable cats, and feel completely at ease. I can’t wait to go back!

A place to relax with the cats. I didn't eat, I just had a coffee. I suggest booking a table upstairs, the cats love to sit at the entrance to the cafe because it has a window. It's very clean, but downstairs there's a strong smell from the litter boxes and there's no ventilation. A place to relax with the cats. I didn't eat, I just had a coffee.
