We had an incredible stay at Pat’s house! The host John was absolutely amazing. He remembered all of our names from the moment we arrived and made us feel so welcome. Breakfast was beyond delicious. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Every moment here felt special. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area

My wife and two daughters just returned from a two night visit to Pax Guest House. The home, Dingle area and hospitality were all top notch and will be remembered fondly by us all forever. The home was very tastefully decorated and very comfortable - we wouldn’t have changed a thing. It was a very short walk to a beautiful small coastal town with some nice restaurants and pubs. The views at the home were gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have a bright, sunny day when we departed. The breakfasts were out of this world - we can’t stop talking about them. All in all, just a fab travel experience - thank you to John!! If I could rate this 11 out of 10, I would.

We had the most wonderful 3 night stay recently in Pax House. This was our second time here, and we will definitely aim to make it at least an annual event going forward. This place is simply sublime. The owner John maintains his incredible standards so high and anybody who stays in Pax could not help but plan their return. All of the staff were fantastic, the ones that we came across mainly were Michelle, Linda and Susan, all of whom further enhanced the most wonderful breakfast experience every morning. The view from the Guest House is second to none. We really enjoyed a glass of Rose sitting out in the evening sun, with that beautiful view to gaze at. We will definitely be back.

Google
I enjoyed two nights (I wish it could've been more!) at Pax House in June 2025. The level of comfort John offers in his communication with guests and in the spaces he offers is honestly second to none. The homemade breakfasts were a delight, the bed and shower were fantastic, everything was clean and very well maintained. But what stood out the most is that every staff member I came into contact with was in a genuinely pleasant or joyful mood. That says a lot about the leadership and work environment of a place, and that is the quality guests get to experience in every aspect of Pax House.

Google
I would return in a heart beat. Stunning views from the lounge, large patio and dinning room. John greeted us warmly by name, and explained the room and property. Bed was very comfortable, nice bedding and loved the shower. Staff were lovely, great attention to detail. Large, modern lounge where you can relax - great to have the option to enjoy a glass of wine. Breakfast was excellent, with a surprise selection of fresh baked goods, bread, juice & tiny yogurt parfaits before your breakfast arrived. We had a wonderful stay.

Google
Pax Guesthouse and Dingle was the highlight of our two week stay in Ireland. We were very much spoiled our entire stay here. From the stunning views of the bay and surrounding farmland to the incredible breakfast which very much resembled an afternoon tea every morning with a rotating menu of incredible dishes on top of it, we can’t compare it to anywhere else we’ve ever stayed before. The staff were incredibly friendly and we really enjoyed Jules the house dog. It was nice to be out in the countryside outside of Dingle but was also an easy walk into town. If you are planning to stay in Dingle this is the place you will want to stay hands down!

Google
Our stay at Pax House was one of a kind. From our first impression of walking into the charming and tasteful lobby while being greeted by John, who addressed each of us by our first name, to our final meal, which was an exceptional breakfast a with a beautiful 180-degree view of the Bay, Ocean, and surrounding landscape. Pax House struck the perfect balance of being a beautiful place to stay, yet never carried the feeling of gaudiness. Each detail of the house felt handpicked, and after conversations with John, it was clear that each detail was intentional. We had an incredible stay at Pax house and would recommend it to anyone with an appreciation for stellar hospitality. We are looking forward to returning one day.

Google
Pax house is top rated for good reason. John is a charming host who makes you feel totally at home. The breakfast is superb . There is a great room for guests to gather and visit that has a spectacular view. Even the decorations in the house are fun.

Yelp
Maybe my favorite accommodation of all time! Guest Pax House was a dream start to finish. The rooms were so comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious and the view out onto the pasture and water was divine. The roaming cows and sheep were so fun to watch during the day. The breakfast at Pax House was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! The scones and yogurt were so fresh and the entree was delicious. They use fresh produce and eggs from their homestead and you can tell the difference. The location was just a quick 15 minute walk into town and they provide you with bright safety vests as you're walking on a narrow road with no shoulder or sidewalk for about 5 minutes of the walk. John and company are so lovely and helpful. I think about this place all the time and how I can't wait to go back. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating and no detail was left out.

Yelp
Pax House is my new happy place. We arrived very late after a flight delay. Even though it was almost 2am, John gave us a warm welcome, including champagne and a treat for our anniversary. The next morning, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast. John and the staff are friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms and inn are comfortable and inviting. Then, there are the views. We loved it so much, we stayed another day!

Yelp
My wife and I reside in the United States and have traveled extensively throughout our country and abroad. I can say, without hesitation, that our stay at Pax Guest House was one of the finest we've ever enjoyed. Everything was top-notch, from the warm, personal greeting, to our room ("terrace bedroom"), to the views from the property, to our complimentary breakfast. In fact, the breakfast alone was worth the price of our stay. The property itself was wonderfully decorated, and you could tell that all who work here take pride in what they do. My only regret was not budgeting more time here than I did.

Yelp
Pax Guest House was the absolute best place we stayed at during our road trip around Ireland. We stayed in six different top of the line hotels and none of them compared to the hospitality, experience and views that we experienced at Pax House. John and his staff were such a delight from the second we stepped through the front door. John gave us a tour, showed us our room and then made us a wonderful pot of tea to enjoy in the living room. He gave us advice on where to dine, made dinner reservations for us, arranged transportation into town & recommended that we go and see the five time world champion Irish Step Dancer that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We ended up staying at Pax House the night before we got engaged and I couldn't dream of a better start to the most magical day of my life. I woke in our cozy room early in the morning, not wanting to wake Steve I quickly grabbed a book and headed out to the living room. As I walk up to the living room I was greeted with the most amazing view Ireland had to offer. While it was chilly, I decided to sit outside and take in the breathtaking views. The wonderful ladies working the morning shift were quickly to bring out the seat cushions, cover me in blankets and bring me a pot of tea! While I sat enjoying my tea, an orchestra of lambs singing in the wind met the sound of the sea. When Steve has woke we were ushered to a beautiful, window seat in the breakfast room where I had the best breakfast I've ever tasted in my life. Their was an assortment of juices, pastries, oatmeal options and so much more. I decided to order something outside of the box for me and chose a salmon omelette while Steve chose soft boiled eggs with fish spread. We were so thrilled with the options we chose. I'm not sure which was better, the view or the food! Before we left John took the time to give us more recommendations of where to go and also gave us directions on how to take the ferry to the cliffs of mother, which saved us a lot of time. When I think about our trip to Ireland, my mind goes to the most magical day of my life which started here! I will always think back to Pax House and will definitely be finding a way to get back to this majestic place.

Yelp
I've traveled fairly extensively, and have stayed in many 5-star properties along the way. The Pax House ranks up there with my best experiences ever. The view alone is breathtaking, but our very large terrace room with sitting area and large bathroom with separate tub & xl shower overlooking the stunning view was unforgettable. The breakfast they serve is unparalleled. See the pics. John, the owner/host is helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. If you have the opportunity to stay at this unique boutique property, don't hesitate. You will not be disappointed. If we didn't have to fly across the Atlantic to get here, we'd try to make it an annual stop.

Yelp
At this point I'm just echoing the reviews of so many who have posted before me. This is a lovely inn with great views, splendid facilities, and incredible attention to detail. The host and staff just put it over the top. The breakfast is best described as decadent. Of our 11 night trip, this was by far our favourite period we messed up by not extending by a day or two. The only slight quibble is that a cat has free run of the lounge, those of us who are allergic will need to avoid that area. It did not appear to have access to the dining/breakfast area or any of the private rooms. We look forward to returning soon.

Yelp
The Pax House was straight out of an Irish fairy tale! We could not have picked a better B&B to stay at in Dingle. We stayed at the Pax House for two nights in September 2014. My husband and I stayed in a Classic Double room on the main floor and my sister stayed in a Regular Double room on the lower floor. I'd recommend paying a few more dollars to stay on the main floor since these rooms were recently renovated and there is no WIFI downstairs. The rooms with sea views were all booked, but there is a large outdoor patio deck and indoor lounge with breathtaking views. Afternoon tea is offered daily on the patio and in the lounge. Every room in the Pax House is filled with fresh flowers, brightly colored wool blankets, and books. Molly, the cat, will join guests for a lounge in the sun and Rio, the dog, is always ready to play fetch or go on a leisurely stroll. The owner of the B&B, John, was the most wonderful host. He really has thought of everything and made us feel so welcomed during our visit. Upon arrival John offered us a pot of tea and gave us a tour of the B&B. We had already planned our itinerary and knew where we were dining, but had not made dining reservations. John was kind enough to book tables for us for each night. Each night we would return to our room to see that we had received chocolates and after dinner drinks with the turndown service. Since my sister was traveling alone, housekeeping would leave a teddy bear on her bed each night. I still daydream about the incredible breakfast at the Pax House! Every morning John prepares the most wonderful feast of poached fruit, homemade granola, yogurt, and John's award winning scones. Once you have feasted on scones and clotted cream and Madagascar vanilla poached pears with cloves and lemon zest you'll wonder why you don't eat like this every morning! In addition to the buffet, a menu is available for you to order your choice of entrée each morning. A selection of pancakes, omelets, smoked salmon and other dishes are offered on the menu. Many of dishes are made from the herbs in John's organic garden and the eggs from the free range chickens roaming the property. My biggest regret during our visit at the Pax House was not staying a third night!

Yelp
This is the only place to stay in Dingle. We stayed at Pax for our first anniversary trip and could not have made a better choice. John was helpful before we even arrived, helping us with recommendations and reservations via email. We received a warm welcome upon arrival as John showed us to our room with stunning views of the bay while describing the town and its amenities. He then arranged a taxi for us to get into town and explore the old world bars and restaurants along the harbor. Although the views are beyond compare and the town leaves nothing to be desired, the best part of Pax is John. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond with his service. We honestly couldn't figure out when he sleeps. From arranging taxis and reservations to providing wool blankets and snacks for our glass of wine on the back deck, he always found a way to bring our experience to the next level. If you're planning a trip to Ireland, you must visit Dingle; if you're staying in Dingle, you couldn't find a better place to stay than Pax. Thanks John, Ryan and Cristina

Yelp
Everything about Pax House is absolutely fantastic. We stayed two nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. From the minute we arrived, the host, John, was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us a quick tour and history of the landmarks visible from the lounge. Then followed tea and biscuits while we soaked up the view. We booked the Top of the House room and were not disappointed one bit. The room was comfortably and brightly furnished, but the highlight was the three vertical windows that opened up to an incredible view. The middle window converts into a semi-balcony to give you 180° views of the surrounding Dingle hills, bay and fields. Coming back at night, we were delighted to find a turndown service with two small glasses of Irish creme and two chocolate mint cookies. The bed was big and comfortable, with a lovely morning view of the bay. The breakfast, with a small self-serve bar and a larger menu of kitchen-prepared food (pancakes, Irish breakfast, omelets, etc.), was delicious. Pax House felt like home and I was sad to leave. If you're going to Dingle, do yourself a favor and stay here, you won't regret it one bit.

Yelp
I'm not sure it's possible to convey the wonderful experience we had at Pax Guest House in mere words. John was an absolutely amazing host, the rooms are just wonderful, and the breakfasts are incredibly delicious. We visited over a year ago and can't wait to return. I do recommend the upper rooms with the opening dormers. The view of the Dingle Harbor is incredible and offers likely one of the most fantastic views of any B&B in the area. If you are going to be spend holiday time in Dingle this needs to be your temporary home!

Yelp
I can't believe I never reviewed this place. Well...let's change that! Me and my husband traveled southern Ireland over the course of 10 days for our one-year anniversary. Even though this was 5 years ago, we still reminisce on our absolutely remarkable stay at Pax House. It is now the standard by which I judge all hotels/inns/bed and breakfasts that I visit on my travels. On this particular vacation, we stayed in B&Bs, a swanky hotel or two, and even a castle, yet Pax House was hands-down our favorite place. John knows hospitality and Pax House felt like staying at a friend's home. Breakfasts were delicious, the decor is fabulous, and the views of Dingle Bay are breathtaking. John was readily available to offer suggestions regarding the nearby scenic drives around the peninsula or which local pubs offered the best food. I remember one night there was an issue with our television. John came by to try to fix it, but it still wasn't doing what we wanted. Several minutes later there was a knock on our door. We opened it to find John holding two glasses of Bailey's and offering more apologies. These days, when we talk about going back to Europe we're always trying to figure out a way to work in a couple of nights at Pax House. We will be back one day. Until then, we will continue to think back fondly on our time here.

Yelp
Excellent! A friend's family had stayed at Pax House on their trip to Ireland a few months prior to ours and highly recommended we stay there. We are so happy we did because it was by far our favorite of the 6 places we stayed during our trip. I wish we had spent another night here. We stayed in a terrace room with a beautiful view of the bay. We arrived for check in a little later than expected and missed the afternoon tea that John serves. Prior to leaving for the Slea Head Drive before sunset, John took us to a map and told us and another group staying all the best places to go with recommendations of which items were must sees. He really is the quintessential host. We arrived back fairly late and were greeted with some chocolates and Bailey's before bed. Yum. The room was extremely comfortable and well lit. There really isn't anything I could think to improve. The next morning we joined everyone for breakfast. Tables were set for 1-4 people each but there was some group discussions led by the wonderful ladies that help serve breakfast. John seems to do most of the cooking himself and it was all beautifully set up. One thing to note - Pax House is home to a very sweet dog named Rio and a seemingly laid back cat named Molly. Rio attracted a lot of attention from everyone staying while we were there as we were all missing our own dogs back home. Rio LOVED the attention and would roll over to help facilitate the belly rubs. If you're highly allergic to animals, this may not be the place for you. I don't think the dog or cat are ever allowed into the rooms, but they do have free reign of the common areas. For me, Rio was a bonus to an amazing stay. 5 stars.

Yelp
Beautiful property, location and people. They truly go out of their way to make you feel great. Thanks to John and the staff for a memorable weekend

Yelp
This was the best place I've ever stayed. Ever. This is the rare time where the photos truly reflect how beautiful a place is. My mom and I rented the top of the house room. If it's available, I recommend it! The views are spectacular. John shows the utmost care in what he does. The furnishings and the art are eclectic and tasteful, the breakfast is insanely good, Molly the cat and Rio the dog are the best B&B pets ever, and the small touches (a sip of Bailey's delivered to our room, along with warm teddy bears, before bed) really made this a special place beyond all others. I will come back and stay a week next time!

Yelp
This was by far the most beautiful place we stayed in Ireland, and one of the top 5 most beautiful places we've ever stayed. The staff here is outstanding, there is no detail that is overlooked. John embodies everything you hope to find in a B&B, and you really couldn't find a nicer more welcoming person. It's tempting to want to spend the night in town, but I'd recommend getting back to watch the sunset on the deck...absolutely breathtaking!!!

Yelp
Where to start? This was our best experience in Ireland so far and the best priced. John at pax house and all the servers were wonderfully welcoming. The breakfast were excellent and filling. The rooms were extremely clean. I just loved Rio (dog) and Molly (cat). I wanted to take Molly home with me but John said no. I was pretty persistent and I think he scoped out my purse before leaving to make sure I didn't have her with me. The Pax had the most beautiful views and coffee and shortbread midday was wonderful.

Yelp
Our one regret was not staying longer! One night wasn't enough and the crumb egg breakfast was divine...

Yelp
Pax House is our favorite place in Ireland, and is the standard by which I will compare all other lodging in the future. It is luxurious. Every detail is well thought out. John and his staff were perfect in every sense, they literally "took care of us". They can make a recommendation for restaurants, pubs, music, and any combination. My wife got a cold, and John made her lemon tea in the evenings. The location and view are amazing. We had a "top of the house" room, and it was worth every penny. The breakfast was unbelievable: daily specials, omelets, full Irish, cold cereal, fruits, honey comb, loose leaf tea, french press coffee. We were sad to leave and wish we stayed here for our entire trip.

Bob L.

Yelp
5 stars for sure ! So many little details that make this place special; quiet; comfy beds; great views; John, the wonderful host; and, oh, my God, the breakfast ! We're here two nights, and, honestly, considered staying longer. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
This is an outstanding place to stay in Dingle. To see how great, check out the Trip Advisor reviews. Why don't I write this in Trip Advisor, you ask? Because Yelp users need to know about this place too. John, the owner, is fantastic. The views are out of this world. The place is kid friendly but still a romantic place for couples (a tough thing to pull off). The breakfast is tasty and varied. Although a bit outside of town, it is an easy 2 minute drive (10 minute walk) to Dingle. The highlight of our Ireland trip!
google avatar

Don G.

Yelp
Whatever you are looking for in a B&B, John provides it You cannot get better service, more accommodating, well manner and gracious service than at the Pax House. Rooms are terrific, breakfast beyond belief if you are visiting anywhere from Annascaul to Dingle. You need to check this place out. You will not and cannot be disappointed
google avatar

Krissy L.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about this place - amazing. John, the owner, is such a great guy and really takes his time to get to know you and what things you are looking to do while in town. He has excellent recommendations for food, live music, etc. The B&B itself is the best I have ever experienced. The view from the sitting rooms and the balcony are breathtaking. The rooms are great & the breakfast is beyond delicious. The fact that my omelette was created by eggs from the three hens that wander the property alone is worth raving about. And I can't forget sweet Rio, the dog who loves belly rubs and playing fetch. She helped ease the miss in my heart for my own dog at home. The location is also great! It's out of the main town area so you don't have to be bothered by noise or foot traffic but only a 12 min walk into town. I will definitely be back as often as I can - I could literally spend weeks here!
google avatar

Kelli B.

Yelp
Cannot rave enough about Pax House. We were greeted by John with afternoon tea. The view is the best in Dingle. The rooms were perfect: modern, clean, luxurious. We walked into town for dinner and drinks and it was only about 10 minutes. The breakfast was unbelievable, I had the pancakes with fresh berries and chocolate sauce. YUM. We were so sad to leave and will definitely return on our next trip to Ireland.

Crissy N.

Yelp
We cannot say enough good things about Pax House and the host, John. Fabulous room (one of the renovated rooms), above and beyond all expectations for service (including dinner reservations/recommendations, a ride into town in the rain and the friendliest), 360 view of the bay, lovely, friendly pets. By far our favorite town and B&B of the entire 2 week trip - better than Dromoland Castle where we went next and a much better price!

Wendy O.

Yelp
The moment John welcomed us to Pax House and we saw the spectacular view from the terrace, we knew we'd found the perfect spot to stay. I could have sat on the terrace all day, watching the scenery change as the boats came and went out of the Dingle harbor, Fungi the dolphin entertained boaters and kayakers, sheep and cows grazed in the pastures below, and the big Irish sky hung overhead. The rooms are tidy and clean with all the right amenities, but we spent most of our time enjoying the common areas, playing with Rio the dog, and laughing at the chicken and rooster as they followed us around the yard. It's an easy trip down the hill into town, and a short cab ride home after an evening of delicious food at the Half Door and live music at the Small Bridge. John has put his heart and soul into the place, and it shows. I'd be remise if I didn't also say that the breakfast was divine!

Steven V.

Yelp
Pax House was a truly wonderful place to stay. We visited as part of a 10 day trip in Ireland, and I think I enjoyed this B and B the most. John (owner, cook, host, etc.) was outstanding. The Pax House has a great view, a peaceful atmosphere, and great service. I hope I get to stay here again someday. One downside is the walk in to town. It's easy walking down the hill, but it can seem like a long walk back. John gave us a ride one evening which was a nice touch. The upside of being a little bit out of town is that we didn't have any problems with pub noise or city traffic to bother us at night.
