3 Best Day Trips From Bangkok

"One of the first wineries in Thailand—its first corked bottle dates back to 1998—PB Valley is located in a scenic landscape of gentle hills, blooming flower fields, and green plantations, all just a two-hour drive from Bangkok. Of the property's 80 hectares, 320 are dedicated to growing grapes to make Chenin Blanc, Tempranillo, and Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a highlight of the area around Khao Yai, and it's an award-winning one, at that. The estate by the vineyard offers a luxury accommodation: one single room in a tent-like standalone complex by the vines. Tours, which you should book in advance, come with a tasting of three glasses of wine. There's also a restaurant and good gift shop onsite." - Marianna Cerini

Food was good, presentation wise also good. The grape juice was a great hit with the non achoholic drinkers of the party but their wine deserved praises too Only huge complaint is the number of flies that hover over the food causing nuisance. When we asked to light candles to deter the flies the restaurant were not helpful there...seems flies are a common thing to them ...arrgh... But a cute highlight is the metal animals as taps in the ladies washrooms ...so creative.😍

Had a wonderful time at PB Valley! It’s a very interesting spot to see how a vineyard works. For 400 THB, you get a full tour and a tasting of three different wines. If you're a non-drinker, don't worry—their grape juice is a great alternative. The tour was fun, and the year-end weather made the stroll through the plantation even better. Definitely worth the price!

Beautiful and big vineyard. Food at The Great Hornbill is delicious. Service is good and prompt. Vineyard tour takes 70 mins and it comes with tasting of 3 types of wine - Rosé, Chenin Blanc and Shiraz, and cheese and crackers.

Very charming winery with a lovely view restaurant. Moderate prices for great food and yummy wine. Nice gift shop and can buy wine and spirits there. Locally made products. The staff is friendly and attentive. Had no time for wine tour but will be back. Easy parking. Lovely mountains with water views of vineyard.

Visited PB Valley Winery in Khao Yai last Saturday. The place has a great ambiance surrounded by beautiful greenery. As it’s off-season, there weren’t many grapes on the vines, but our guide explained everything perfectly about the vineyard and wine-making process. If you enjoy nature and a calm, peaceful environment, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely incredible experience at PB Valley! I ordered the braised beef and a calamari side, and both dishes were out of this world. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, rich in flavour, and perfectly balanced. The calamari was fresh, crispy, and a great complement to the meal. The restaurant is set right in a beautiful vineyard, which adds to the charm. Our group, though we didn’t drink, bought a bunch of grape juices — and they were excellent. Everyone was happy with the food, and I also tried my friend’s roasted chicken, which was delicious. The atmosphere was warm, and the service attentive and friendly. I can’t recommend this place enough — if you’re in Khao Yai, make sure PB Valley is on your list!

Came here on a weekday for lunch and we didn’t have to wait for a table. Ample space indoor and outdoor. We opted for outdoor as the weather was really lovely in December with a light breeze at noon.
