Pé no Monte

This place is heaven for families. We were a group of 28 and Liliana and staff were simply amazing. It’s a vacation with something for everyone. Preferable if children can swim as there are two pools with no fence. A well equipped playground and indoor playroom, plenty of luxurious common space, an outdoor fire pit, mountain bikes available and lots of lawn to run around on. Nearby there is child friendly horse riding, walks through the eucalyptus forest, fantastic beaches and restaurants. It’s very quiet and really perfect for groups. Each bungalow has its own kitchen and fridge. Thank you Liliana for making our holiday so great.

My husband and I with our two teenagers stayed for six nights this summer. We would highly recommend Pe No Monte for your next trip. It was a perfect spot to visit all the different beaches and this area is very special. ||The project is inspiring! They have thought of everything.A games room, volleyball, soccer, sand pit, two pools. Cosy TV area and hammocks for each room. The food was wonderful and well thought out. Breakfast abundant, family set menus for dinners were affordable and of great value, and the staff was ready to make my hungry teenager a quick sandwich or sweet potato fries when needed. ||Generally this family have gone the distance to make sure that everything was wonderful. Their team was super professional and warm. All this and it is set in a beautiful country side scenery. We love Pe No Monte. This place makes the entire region level up.

For kids, in Portugal, I already tried a lot of places and believe this is the best one, at least in the price range. There are some interesting luxurious resorts but at multiple times the price or hotels all-included but too crowded. Two swimming pools almost just for you, a lot of entertainment options for kids, including a huge tree house and sand, everything in proximity (so they are autonomous, yet under control). Even young kids can be by themselves and I think in many years since they were born my 3 kids (5 to 8 years old range) are just happy by themselves and I can read without interruptions! Apartments allow you to have a bedroom for you and one for the kids and the kitchen is equipped enough for light meals. Location is also near the coast, so you can take the family to the beach, just don't expect to have a lot of commerce nearby, as there is none.

We stayed at Pe No Monte in early July 2017 and we absolutely adored it. Having said that, it probably isn't for everyone. It is a bit difficult to describe. On the one hand, it is an architecturally very cool place that has been tastefully furnished with all kinds of interesting design elements. At the same time, it is a bit like staying in someone's family home, with tons of kids' toys scattered throughout the back garden and a laid back, casual atmosphere that's more AirBnB than Relais & Chateaux. For us it was perfect. Our 7 year old daughter loved jumping on the trampoline, playing bows and arrows in the garden and falling in love with Chica, the gregarious family dog. We (the grown-ups) loved the spotlessly clean, minimalist room (with its stunning view out into a pine forest) and the wonderful hosts, full of great information about things to see and do in the area and more than happy to take time out of their busy day to explain the rules of a French board game to our (English speaking) child. Like most places you can stay in this part of Alenejo, you will need a car to get here. If you have a car, this place is about as centrally located as you can be in this part of Portugal, close to the beaches at Odeceixe, Zambujeira do Mar and Vila Nova de Milafontes, and just a few minutes from the enchanting small town of Sao Teotonio (which has restaurants, a supermarket etc). The only minor complaints I have are that (a) the bed was a bit small for two adults - a "double bed" as opposed to a "queen" (i.e., smaller than what you will find in most hotels) and (b) I was not able to connect to the wi-fi at all during our stay (admittedly, though, I was kind of ok with it and did not bring it to the attention of the owners - it is possible that this was a problem with an easy solution which I simply did not seek out). All in all, if you're ok with a few endearing quirks, this is a really great place to spend a few days in Alentejo, particularly if you're traveling with kids. We will be back!

Travel group: 2 adults and 2 children (1 and 3 years old) The staff is so friendly and thougtful. There was already great contact while booking. When we wanted to extend our stay, but the same apartment wasn't avialable anymore, they offered another apartment for the remaining 2 nights. They proactively reached out to book dinnner for our first night. I would highly recommend this place for families. The swimming pools are child-friendly, the garden is very big with a playground. Since there are a lot of other families is easy for kids to connect. Breakfast is big with fresh juices every morning. In the area, you can find a lot of beautiful beaches. We particularly appreciated the property to be surrounded by nature, a bit hidden away but with a lot of great activitities nearby and the onside restaurant so we could have dinner with the two of us while the kids were sleeping.

This is a wonderful hotel for families. Lots of games and activities for kids, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly. Very peaceful and quiet. Our whole family had a great time.

Awesome place, amazing staff. The kids have a lot of space to play, run, bike, swim, explore the surroundings. Perfect spot for a calm and happy stay.|The place is near the beach, with nice accessibilities for injured persons (my wife had a broken leg and was able to move across all the places within it).|Want to repeat it :)

This is a wonderful place to spend time off, relax, or enjoy some time with friends. You will feel at home, very well treated by the staff and the owners. The facilities are excellent, the location is magical - just look up to the stars at night. Can't recommend it more
