Peace & Loaf restaurant

Dined here today for my Wife’s birthday and opted for the lunch menu. From the front of house service (sorry I didn’t get your name Mr Belfast..) who was exceptional, to the bar staff and of course the cooking staff - everything was above what was expected. The food was sublime and presented beautifully, my photos won’t do it justice. This place is a credit to Bob, Dave and all of the staff. Very highly recommended.

What a little gem! It was a perfect evening. Our party had the vegetarian and meat tasting menus, and everyone left satisfied and happy. There were a few delightful surprises (what exactly was “egg and chips” going to be?), but the food remained unpretentious. It looked stunning and tasted even better. With fantastic service and great company to top it off, what more could you ask for.

Recommended to Peace and Loaf by a good friend of mine and it did not disappoint - the food was exquisite and the wine pairing brilliant. Our main server, Adam, made our night with his patter. Everyone else was also excellent and the place is brilliant - get the wine pairing!

SOMEONE IN THIS RESTAURANT IS A GASTRONOMICAL GENIUS! The tasting menu was one of the best tasting experiences of our lives and we throughly enjoyed every bit of our dinner at Peace & Loaf. Extra loaf for the staff, they were down to earth smiling and genuin and unpretentious, adding to an already great experience with their own stories about their experiences with the out-of-this-world dishes. When the staff is smiling and laughing and have a genuine love for the food they’re serving you know it’s a five star experience. Much loaf for this awesome experience!

Really great place. Excellent food, beautifully presented. Enjoyed the wine pairing, one pairing shared between two was perfect. Adam was a lovely host, friendly and attentive.

Excellent service, lunch set menus are very good values also presentation super. Love the art deco of the restaurant, it's my type of place to go. That's why we are all the way from London to come here just for lunch! Will definitely come back next time!

The food is excellent - we got the longer menu (£90 pp) and we weren’t disappointed with our choice. The “Caesar salad” course was definitely a highlight for me personally. Service was very good too, they were friendly and attentive. The reason for not giving 5 star though is that for the price you would expect a bit more in the way of atmosphere/decor. The interior is very simple, bland and not representative of the menu/pricing. We were there for just over 2 hours and I was in a bit of pain by the end of it because the chair was uncomfortable. After 3 cocktails the bill came to £230. For this price it is a special occasion place for us but doesn’t feel fancy enough to be remembered at the next special event. If I could put the food and the staff at a venue that was suave on the inside then that would be my go-to for every special occasion!

Great place, was wanting to go for years but not had a chance. Finally been and not disappointed. Keep the good work up!
