"Sitting on the edge of the Bering Sea, the village of Unalakleet is, of course, stunning in its stark beauty. But the off-the-road-system village also offers plenty of surprises, including damn good pizza. Even full-on pizza snobs won’t thumb their nose at the thin-crust pies coming out of the ovens. The price of the pizzas is kind of a killer (it costs bundles to get foodstuffs shipped out there, so any restaurants have to charge a bundle to make a buck), but the payoff is dandy. Crust that has the right amount of crunch and tenderness. Proper cheese bubbles! And a light, bright tomato sauce. Chow down and then go explore this marvel of a town."

You can call this restaurant from anywhere during the Iditarod (sled dog race) to order pizza for mushers, whether you know them or not. It’s great for the mushers, and it’s a good way to support the village. Thanks to the restaurant staff for providing this service!

Great food in a great environment. If you play music, they've got what you need to jam. If you're hungry, they've got what you need to eat. I recommend the pizza. They Are not kidding when they say best "Peace On Earth". As in piece of pizza I suppose. And peace! It really is a pretty peaceful place too. Awesome outdoor seating when the weather is nice. There is even a hair salon attached to the place if you need a trim! There's also displays of local traditional native arts and crafts available for sale if you fancy a souvenir. This place is a must go.

Excellent pizza in a very unexpected place. A bit pricey, but it is in a remote place.

Yelp
I placed an order here for a pizza to be delivered to one of the Iditarod mushers and I was so pleased with the service. Had a lovely chat with Brett the owner and he sent me photos of the pizza :-) I hope to visit in person someday!

Yelp
Went there with a friend last night. Brett was so accommodating and everyone there was extremely friendly! We had the wings (not as crispy as I normally like, but delicious nonetheless) and a greek pizza which was fantastic! It took some time to get our food, but that is the way of Unalakleet, and we didn't mind one bit! I travel to Unalakleet for work and I will definitely return to Peace on Earth! Definitely check it out if you're in town!

Yelp
Peace on Earth is the place to be in Unalakleet. I ate there 4 times in the week I was living in Unalakleet because I loved it so much. For starters, the atmosphere is great. It is colorful with a big mural painting on one wall. There is a big chalk board wall that has menu items and specials! There is some clutter in areas of the store, but nothing that gets in your way. There are big tables that encourage meeting other parties if it is crowded, but they still give you enough room to have comfort space. I got a hamburger, the maui waui, and then twice I got the Stevie but instead of cheese, I got it with pineapple (the Maui Waui and Stevie are sandwiches). Each item I got with fries. For starters, the fries are thin, crispy, and always hot. They were delicious! The maui maui was a sandwich that had chicken, pineapple, and herbs and spices. And the Stevie was a sandwich with marinara sauce, delicious Italian sausage, fresh mushrooms, and then it was supposed to be on garlic bread and have cheese, but instead of that, I added pineapple (I highly recommend adding pineapple to yours too!) The Stevie was also my sneaky way at satisfying my pizza craving without breaking my wallet. I cannot get over the fact that pizza in the Norton Sound area is around 30$ for a small. The sandwiches (with fries) were 15, and since the Stevie had the pizza sauce on it, you got that pizza taste for half the price! The other review mentions a Larry, but when I was there, the people in charge were a super wonderful couple, Bret and Davida. Since I have a milk allergy, eating out can be really tough. Bret gained Peace on Earth a billion yelp starts if that were possible due to his willingness to be incredibly accommodating for my food allergy. He even made me fresh dough for my sandwiches all week since they normally put milk in their dough! I felt super comfortable eating here, knowing that Bret was watching the ingredients like a hawk. They were also such nice people and ended up being good friends with me by the end of my week there! The only negative I have to say is that service can be sloooooow. Some days, I waited 60-90 minutes to get my food (the last day was just 20). Since it is such a popular spot, there can be a lot of orders ahead of yours. So just be expecting it might take awhile, but I decided such is the Unalakleet way. No one is in a hurry in this village which adds to its charm.

Yelp
A great place to hang out in Unalakleet. Pizza is delicious, and I should know, because I live in the pizza state, New Jersey. Larry, the owner, is a thoroughly nice guy, and this is a warm, friendly place. http://www.flickr.com/photos/theskepticaloptimist/4452349167/
