Google
A friend highly recommended The Peacock Room for me to find my mother of the groom dress. I could seriously not be any more pleased with this jewel of a store! My husband has been hospitalized for >2 months so I was delayed and stressed. I found multiple dresses and ultimately found EXACTLY what I envisioned. The prices were reasonable! I got my jewelry and they even let me try on the pierced earrings! The saleswoman, Sanaa, was so helpful and as excited as I was about the dress! Service was 5 star! I was in and out in an hour. They carry sizes 0-22 also. Their selection is very large, both with short, cocktail and formal dresses. I found the dress on the internet a bit cheaper but I would rather pay a bit more and be able to try it on, try on jewelry and do one-stop shopping. This store is truly a jewel in midtown Detroit!

Google
What a delightful store! Among the beautiful dresses, sparkly jewelry and unique gifts, we found wonderful staff just waiting to help us. We went to both locations, which was nice because the stores carried different items. I will be back (and recommend to others) when I need a new dress or a special gift.

My girlfriend introduced me to this fabulous store!🤗. I bought a beautiful dress and can’t wait to go back! I’m pretty sure I will own one of their unique beaded purses soon!👛

Went to the Peacock Room (15 Kirby Street) this afternoon to look for a dress for an upcoming wedding I'll be attending. They had exactly what I was look for and Ashley was so kind & helpful. I love this shop!

From the moment you walk in the door, you are transported to a different place and time. A time when fashion mattered and people cared about how they looked when they attended an event. My heart begins to race as I envision myself draping in jewels and sparkling gowns adorned with amazing accoutrements of hats, gloves, and purses. I love the Peacock Room. The attention to detail is exquisite! Thank you Rachael

Google
I always have a wonderful experience at the Peacock Room! This time I visited the store (a couple days ago on Sunday December 11) inside the Park Shelton because I needed a vintage 1920's Harlem Renaissance dress for a gala on Saturday December 17. There was a nice selection in different styles and colors that fit well within the amount that I wanted to spend. In fact, I ended up purchasing my silver glittery dress, jeweled headband with feather, and a gorgeous silver and black lacy stole all for just under $200. And Sarah (not sure if this is the correct spelling, maybe Sara) was wonderful! She was helpful, gave advice based on fit, my event, and the look I was going for, and so patient. Even as closing time arrived she wanted to make sure I had what I was looking for. The Peacock Room is a class act not just in their amazing merchandise, but in the top notch customer care! P.S. My gloves (which matched perfectly!) were either my grandmother's or my great aunt's from Crowley's department store, my earrings were my mom's, and my shoes, pearls, and bracelets were in my closet.

Google
Really enjoyed this fancy, vintage clothing store located inside the Fisher Building. There are some expensive overpriced items, however, you can find cheaper, good quality items here. The jewelry and clothing items are fun to peruse through, including opera glasses that mimic the times when the Fisher Building theatre was budding with high class socialites

Google
I shopped at the Peacock Room on Kirby on 7/21/24. I was looking for a mother of the groom dress. My daughter and I were warmly greeted and the employee who helped us was fantastic the entire time we were there (I tried on a lot of dresses!) There were plenty of long gowns to choose from and best of all there was a sale at the time. It was nice to see that you had added another changing room since I had been there last, especially since I took one over for quite a while. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry and I was able to find a gorgeous pair of earrings to match the dress. Always a favorite place to shop for special occasion dresses.

Yelp
Well, the Peacock Room did it again! I can always count on them for finding the perfect dress and accessories, especially for events depicting the Roaring Twenties, Harlem Renaissance era. Yesterday, Friday November 8, 2024 I sang songs written by author/musician Heather Buchanan and Tracy Kash for Heather's newest novel titled, VICTORS. It is about Black musicians who went to France to help fight in World War I. Ultimately, they were largely responsible for our victory and when they weren't fighting they were playing music, sharing the new jazz sound which influenced not only Europe but the world. My dress, purse, fan, long strand of pearls and headpiece, all purchased from the Peacock Room in the Park Shelton were a smash hit! And as always the ladies who work there had exquisite eyes for helping me put the perfect look together. This place is a gem! Thank you again! Dr. Angela Celeste May

Yelp
One of two Detroit locations! Awesome and unique finds in this boutique store! Dresses for special occasions, accessories and more! Very friendly staff!

Yelp
My family buys me gift cards to the Peacock Room and the last time it was days from my birthday, so it was hand delivered to my house! Today, my daughter and I went there looking for a dress for a school dance. We went to both locations, with the fisher building being the second. The ladies at both locations are simply amazing! They helped find sizes, dresses and accessories. It made my daughter feel so special - we ended up buying a beautiful dress! Thank you to the PR, she will be the most uniquely dressed at the dance!

Yelp
EDIT- the owner has privately contacted me and told me they price match. Had I known this I would have done that and bought the dress. Either way, the high pressure sales tactics still skeeve me out and I'd still give them a solid 4. Room for improvement. My momma told me, you gotta shop around. While the selection here is very cool, if on a budget I recommend doing a quick internet search before purchasing. I'm all for supporting local, women owned businesses... But accessibility and honesty is important. I tried on an adorable Unique Vintage label dress here marked for $248 yesterday, I believed I had seen it on the UV site and it's not uncommon for their dresses to be priced that high. However, I'm glad I listened to my gut and didn't immediately purchase. "You looked happier in that dress!" a high pressure sales comment from the shop attendant sent off alarm bells in my head. I told her "I have a budget, I have to crunch numbers and will possibly purchase later in the week." When I checked the UV site, turns out this dress is only and has ever only been $98 retail! That means Peacock is selling it at a 250% increase from normal retail, and who knows how much from the wholesale price they probably get! I love the finds here. I love to support women/minority owned businesses. The owner is a woman. All of the attendants have been women, helpful and welcoming. I love the store decor and environment. I always, always from now on will shop here ready to research. I recommend other Detroiters do too.

Yelp
Very unique products, very good customer service. I love The Peacock Room. The Facebook lives are fun and in person is even better.

Yelp
I just love this store. I always find something so unique. whenever I go to the fisher I have to leave hours early so I can make sure I go there. I love love love this store

Yelp
I am extremely picky on what I wear to any formal occasion. I love to wear a dress that's very unique. I love dresses from certain periods in the past. I will forever go to the peacock room for all of my dresses from now on. The dress that I wore to a wedding from the peacock room received so many compliments. The biggest compliment for the peacock room , the compliments that I received were from very young girls, 40 something, and 60 something. The prices of their dresses are not over the top. I will wear this dress again, and I will purchase more dresses from this store. As much as I want to give this store great review it's one of those stores that you really don't want anybody else to know about. Hahaha!

Yelp
I definitely love products and unique blend of offerings. Purchased several items. I have to say that i did not appreciate the hovering of salespeople. I had picked up an item i was debating buying and after my purchase the sales person ran up to me asking if i had the product of my debate. Annoying and rude since it clearly was in my hands. Sales staff would not let us browse and consider items. Non-stop comments and endorsements of how great item was. Looked at stuffed animal for neice and staff asked what item i liked. After purchase, i was chased through store asking if i had sales receipt. Staff had given me store copy by mistake. I did not focus on it but she did. Of course it was in my bag but had all customers staring at me as if i stole something. Almost would have bought dress and coat but would not give me time to try on and determine color. Shoplifting must be an issue there. Let customers breathe. First time there but doubt will be back. Not enjoyable shopping experience. Shame. Just wished to shop and see all. In fairness, will try again. I do wish their website was more robust. Cannot email them or make purchase. Should be able to see all inventory online. I loved all products. Except for a few vintage pieces with moth holes. Cannot be fixed so why sell? Formal dresses were gorgeous. Pls refrain from chasing a paying client to see if an item with them when clearly is in hands. Was debating to purchase but not after that act. Assuming they have alot of shoplifters. If this is the staff concern; may need a guard. Major turn-off to be considered a shoplifter first. Not person who purchases. Excellent inventory but paranoid staff equates to negative experience. Maybe came at wrong time. Please remedy to include poor website. You will be an excellent brick n mortar that online won out to. Get off my soapbox. Glad most of yelp reviews were more positive cuz i wish this venture to b a success!

Yelp
I love The Peacock Room. Always beautiful dresses that I wish I could try on and dream of going somewhere in. I have never left without buying myself something, even if it's small. Their shopper has perfect taste, and there are so many beautiful things in the store that you just won't find anywhere else. If and when I have an event to dress for, I'm going back and hoping to fit in some of the most beautiful dresses I've seen.

Yelp
A lovely hidden gem in the Fisher Building. This place is packed with all sorts of accessories, apparel, and gifts. I went into the shop not expecting to find much since the store didn't seem my style but I found a beautiful pair of earrings and a sassy dish towel. The prices seem to range and some of the items can be pretty steep but there is a wide selection to peruse. The sales people are very attentive, maybe a little too much at times. A great place to stop by for a gift for a girlfriend's birthday or for yourself.

Yelp
This is my favorite store right now. They have so many interesting pieces amd if you ask the associates they usually have cool stories to tell. The items in the store are a little pricey but high quality and unique. You definitely wont run into a lot of people wearing your clothes and accessories if you get them from the peacock room. The service is amazing and if you need a little help picking things the ladies are always friendly and ready to help! It's such a cool place and if you like it make sure to check out their sister store Frida a few steps away.
google avatar

Yelp
Let me see your pea-cock-cock-cock. -Katy Perry This store is awesome. They have all high quality dresses that are well fitted. I've never been to a store before where every single item is to the same standard. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
A well-stocked location with new and old vintage items. Extremely well done with class, and ran by I believe a classy Pollock LOL, that's meant with the best endearingness possible from the plain speaking 80 year old man inside of me. It's flat out just a well-done store buy a real detroiter that is part of the Resurgence in the city. If you want any type of vintage wear for your next outing it's worth a stop up.
google avatar

Sarah H.

Yelp
This place is a stunner and so are their dresses, jewelry, and accessories. They were busy on Noel Night so I only tried one dress, it ended up being too long. I can't wait for a reason to buy a dress for a special occasion- I'm definitely staying here first. Staff was lovely, friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Detroit in a nutshell can be found here, mixing artistic creativity with unmatched industrial know-how, reinvigorating tried and true designs from the past with a futuristic bent, and proudly reclaiming heritage complete with scars and imperfections because they add character. It's time that we found our place in the fashion stratosphere again. The Peacock Room's eclectic collection of jewelry, vintage clothing, and accessories makes it easy to get carried away. Meandering on a circuit through the boutique changes themes at every turn, one corner ruled by frothy romantic lace skirts and ribbon jackets. The next rack just as easily carries striped stockings as a leather clutch studded with brass knuckles. The owner relishes Michigan designs and eye-catching pieces that speak to the soul of the city rather than repeating what chain shops stock. With room to grow and inventive styling, the Peacock Room brings a needed addition to the fashion market in the city. Dramatically high patched plaster ceilings soar over the former dining room of the Park Sheldon, washed in gilt and cream, a tilted vision of shabby opulence being resurrected thanks to the tireless labours of Detroit businessmen and women. Rachel has started small rather than build Rome in a day, putting together a contrast of old and new styles I can imagine 1920s society rebels admiring. Lush, vibrant colours are captivating to the eye. Industrial-influenced accessories are served up alongside pretty gems. Add in some well-chosen pro Detroit products like snarky t-shirts with the city's trademark attitude. Tables are laden with a treasure trove of cashmere b.ella socks and Swarovski crystals sparkling in concoctions produced by some of Southeast Michigan's finest artists. The doors of the vintage armoire are propped open to display shelves of thick cuff bracelets and delicate metal splinters suspended on a spider web of fine chain and ribbon. Signature peacock feathers swish above skeletal arrangements and heavy brass dripping rings, silk ties, and sugar skull pocket watches that bring Alexander McQueen immediately to mind. Tastes are romantic and edgy, the selection broad - designer label, indie darlings, local fixtures, new finds - and the prices moderate, well worth it for a centerpiece or statement for an outfit. In New York or Chicago, price tags would easily be double or triple the price. Visitors to the Peacock Room are greeted by a silk smoking jacket that sets the tone for half the store. Men's accessories are unabashed about elegance and old time, masculine touches. Antique-labeled shaving creams, powders, and body washes recall dapper suits and top hats. The collection of fedoras and cuff links are a feast of oddities and personalized finishes. I am in love with the Mercury dimes and ration token designs as a history buff. What lawyer couldn't use an enameled pair of scales of justice? Where would a foodie without his crossed knife and fork cufflinks while he dines at Roast? The place sings with an urban vibe, and an assorted crowd of university students, young professionals from downtown, and sophisticated women with a taste for cosmopolitan rather than kitsch or knock-off. Women's clothes include new designs on a central rack and other racks devoted to catchy vintage pieces, including dresses, suit jackets and trousers, and shirts. Labels seen during my last visit include Zara, Ralph Lauren, and Bebe, and do not stick to a single size range or style descriptor. Be warned stock changes frequently so clutch hold of your pearls and take a treasured item up to the register, or risk losing it. Special orders for stocked items are a snap, and Rachel keeps in touch frequently through e-mail or phone to notify you of status. The store's Facebook page is also an excellent resource for recent acquisitions, a sampling of her latest finds, and special events in Midtown.

Yelp
This store (and its other location in the Fisher Building) is an absolute gem. Dress shopping gives me hives, but after explaining my anxieties and event outfit requirements to the owner, she quickly found me an amazing frock that was flattering, affordable, and fit my needs to a T. Not to mention the ambiance of shopping inside a pretty little jewel box. Go to here.
google avatar

Gabrielle K.

Yelp
Yup. Yup, yup yup. I really love a well curated store that has a mix of small handicraft design, vintage pieces and wardrobe staples. Picked up a beautiful vintage merino wool sweater for $12 and some Spanx over here. Can't wait to come back for some party dresses and sparkly things. Hoping the French vintage sweater with the little faux tie is still there when I return too. Also, get your parking validated. 2 hours fo' free.

Yelp
The name in itself is pretty intriguing. A blast from the past with a fashion forward approach. There are so many interesting pieces in The Peacock Room. A coin pure shaped like a pinup bloomer. Vintage jewelry that embodies many generations of style in one boutique. The style reminds me of a modern, conservative style with some funkiness. The apparel is a bit pricey, but unique enough that you would love to wear it to an evening soiree or night out with the girls.
google avatar

Nikki C.

Yelp
I lovvve browsing the Peacock Room for their unique goods. The jewelry, hairpieces, hates, sunglasses and other accessories are outstanding. Best thing is, there are new items shipped everyday, as everything is one-of-a-kind. For this reason, things can be a bit pricey, but it's worth it. Items are sophisticated and eclectic. The owner is very sweet, fun and helpful. CC is accepted, parking is easy, location is awesome -- right by the museums. My mom enjoyed browsing the boutique and purchased a couple of hairpieces. She's looking forward to returning for more!
google avatar

Marie L.

Yelp
Did you not learn anything from the previous 12 reviews?!? Why are you reading mine? Go here....NOW! It's so fabulous to see a store like this thriving in Detroit. They carry a variety of items priced from $6 to $200, so there really is something for everyone (they even have some items-although I would love to see more-in big girl sizes!)! I visit this place every time I'm in town. Also, to boot, it's in a beautifully restored space in a historic building. *sigh* I love Detroit.
google avatar

Valerie E.

Yelp
I've been a loyal fan of the Peacock Room since I visited the store's launch on Noel Night and bought a pair of cute wool socks. Rachel's boutique reflects Detroit's style with a nod to the elegance of the old Hudson's and Crowley's department stores, blended with textures and shapes of industrial motifs, handcrafted works from local artisans, and retro styled fashions. The store is like stepping inside a jewelry box. I remember how run-down the Park Shelton used to look before it's renovations, and I appreciate the hard work Rachel put in to uncover the ornate gilded plasterwork, marble floors and large scale mirrored tiles that were hiding under false walls and ceilings. If you ever have a fashion emergency, Rachel is there to help. I was getting ready for a trip to the museum when a strap broke. Even though it was late, she was happy to help me find a suitable replacement from her stock of vintage goods so that I could continue my evening unencumbered. It's that type of care that makes you appreciate great customer service. Even if I'm not buying, I'll try to stop in every time we are downtown to browse and drool.
google avatar

Bethany S.

Yelp
Peacock Room is awesome, and owner Rachel is the absolute best with customers. She truly makes you feel special, no matter if you're looking for a tiny gift or something rally extravagant. Shopping sucks, it is SO FUN to shop there! And the cute and crass socks are A+ amazing.
google avatar

Candace J.

Yelp
A Detroit gem! Not only is there a broad selection of vintage and new fashion, but Rachel, the owner is a well versed Detroit historian who will clue you in on the past present and future of this great city!
google avatar

Audrey D.

Yelp
If you haven't been here yet, you must get here soon. The store is full of vintage and new items. I shopped there with a couple girlfriends. One bought three different dresses, I bought a leather clutch and a necklace, and another girl bought a purse. The woman at the counter was beyond helpful and definitely made me want to return. The place is a little bit of a time suck and I found myself finding more and more things I hadn't seen before while I looked around as my friend tried on her dresses. There are lots of fun things to try on and everything seems to be moderately priced. Every once in a while, a price tag will make your eyes bulge out of your head but I'm confident you'll make some good purchases. Keep your money in the D! One of a kind jewelry and gifts.
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
The Peacock Room is a hidden delight! Filled with an amazing selection of hip, but classic clothes! Rachel, the owner has a terrific personality, and a tasteful eye! It is a pleasure too shop here!
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
Had I realized that most of the reviews for the Peacock Room were posted by women I probably would've guessed that it was mostly a women's boutique. That said, I was pretty impressed with the small amount of men's gear they had. From wallets and some pretty bad ass cuff links (for those of you who appreciate French cuffs as much as I do) to flasks and business card cases...there's something here for the guy who can appreciate the finer things in life. The selection of ties was rather small but well chosen and very unique. The bow tie selection itself was very interesting and BTW they're the real deal so you'll need to brush up on actually tying them if you haven't undertaken the task before. But I was fairly impressed with the digs they had. At the very least it's a nice spot to stop and fancy a look around. Some of the prices were high while others were very reasonable FYI.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Amazing shopping experience! So grateful for the wonderful advice and assistance from two lovely ladies; Sarah and Ashley who helped me find the perfect dress and earrings. The inventory was plentiful and their is advice invaluable.
google avatar

Cheryl B.

Yelp
My first time there. Service was excellent. Really put their all into helping me find the kind of dress I needed. I did get a great dress and am very happy with my purchase. Thank you so much.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
There is everything different in there to choose from, no matter your style, they carry it! They have thee most amazing dresses! I fall in love all the time, but sometimes too hard! LOL Great place to get a last-minute outfit or gown for an event. Available Sizes Vary, which is good (because you'll be the only one in it, probably) and not so good thing (cause you want what they dont have)! :/ Great shop!
google avatar

Alex K.

Yelp
Purchased jewelry for my girlfriend on her graduation in December - staff was very helpful in assisting me with this, and my girlfriend was thrilled with her earrings (modeled after French jewelry pieces from 100 years ago!) Very happy with my purchase, a true gem in the Midtown business area.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite stops while in Detroit! The service is amazing and I can always find a treasure or two that I can't live without! It's always worth the trip from Lansing!
google avatar

Chad L.

Yelp
What can I say this place is incredibly awesome. The customer service is impeccable. I highly recommend this place for shopping. Have been going here for years and the whole staff is incredibly awesome.
google avatar

Rita B.

Yelp
Deliciously divine! A real experience to be savored. No joke. In a world of cookie cutter faux-fashion, this Detroit gem is not to be missed. I loose myself each visit from accessories [ohhh the sparkle and glam!!] to the practical yet stylish clothing and special occasion show stoppers....can't rave enough!
google avatar

Kerry S.

Yelp
The is a classy, artsy, cool boutique. There is a mix of vintage, new, and locally made goods. The buyers here have a great eye. Price points are fair and comparable able to other places. You can find any thing from gifts, to a party dress, plus loads of accessories here. Clothing is cut for many body types, and the styles are tasteful.
google avatar

Jenni H.

Yelp
It's obvious by reading the reviews that a lot of people love this place, but for me it's just kind of meh. They do have a unique selection of clothing and other items, but every time I've tried something on, even in multiple sizes, the clothing never seems to fit (and I don't have some weird, freakishly shaped body). Clothing items are a bit pricey, which is to be expected at a place like this and is not really a problem--just don't get your hopes up that you're going to find a deal. I might stop in if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip.
google avatar

Mac F.

Yelp
Detroit needs more of this kind of retail. A very well curated and reasonably priced selection of women's clothing and accessories is complemented by the classic surroundings of the Park Shelton. Conveniently located in Midtown Detroit, the Peacock Room has something for every woman in your life. The proprietress, Rachel Lutz, is very adept at getting you what you need, when you need it. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Aja G.

Yelp
As promised, I am writing this Yelp review. Today, on the recommendation of a salesperson in another store, I visited the Peacock Room. When I walked in, the dress I've been searching for was there, across the room. It was like an out of body experience. After I returned to myself, and continued to wander around the store, I wanted everything I saw. Rachel has amazing taste, and I wanted just about everything I saw in that store. I'm sure I'll be back sooner than is prudent. GO GO GO you will love it!
google avatar

Shawn B.

Yelp
As a guy, I'd like to recommend the shop as a nice place for a reasonably priced gift for special occasions or doghouse exit. The staff has been very personable, and my wife enjoys the time there. I walk out spending a few bucks, but wearing the hero hat for at least a while.
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
Trying to find some place to shop in Detroit on Sunday of Memorial Day weekend was a bit of a challenge but the Peacock Room was just perfect! I found a beautifully embroidered purse in my budget (under $25) and a few more bags, also at a great price for the quality, that I wish I could afford right now ($60-80). My husband found a unique vintage style print of Detroit's downtown, and I also got the cutest pair of gnome socks. Most of the store is very refined stylistically. I would say it has something for every woman from age 8 to 80, and even a smattering of ties and hats for men.
google avatar

Michele A.

Yelp
Nice store friendly owner. The items are overpriced and speak to a certain crowd. It seems to be mostly vintage items in the store. Location is good it is around food and other shopping.

Belmontian L.

Yelp
Wowzie! Since I couldn't get to one of Rachel's summer trunk shows, I snagged a private Peacock Room shopping day. Rachel has an amazing eye. I ended up with a Dana Buchman skirt, purple flouncy cashmere shell (that, yes, balances my hips), and a Sigrid Olsen shirt that you'd only know wasn't brand new if you knew Liz Claiborne had closed shop on this great brand. At unbeatable prices. Good going, Detroit!
google avatar

Misty J.

Yelp
I am a plus size and I can't figure out how their clothing racks are organized. I have seen clothes for the larger ladies in there but they tend to be kind of boring for the price. So I've never been able to find clothing here but the costume jewelry is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Great place for gifts. The staff is nice. Their facebook updates are funny, I love the random "overheard" comments. Keep it up ladies!

Yelp
The Peacock Room is a fantastic new addition to what is shaping up to be a real retail district in Midtown, Detroit. Owner Rachel Lutz has done a spectacular job of creating a truly elegant shopping experience with her artful merchandising, useful and interesting goods for sale and the gorgeous, historic space which she has been working hard to restore. I had the pleasure of visiting this gem over the holidays shortly after she opened and was so impressed. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit!
google avatar

Kary P.

Yelp
Everything in this shop is gorgeous, I wanted nearly everything I saw there. The best part - everything is reasonable priced. I bought a hat for my husband during Noel Night, and I plan on going back for a dress and jewelry for New Year's Eve. The location is wonderful too, after going through the DIA or Detroit Historical Museum, treat yourself to something here, and then a crepe in the same building at Good Girls Go To Paris. It's the perfect day out!

Kait G.

Yelp
Love this place! Great accessories, cute clothes, so much to look at. I only wish they carried more plus sizes as I'm a very fashionable Rubenesque girl ;)
google avatar

Cari M.

Yelp
Cute boutique in the D! Love downtown retail, and everything in the Peacock Room left me drooling over it. I felt like a little girl playing dress up. They have really beautiful clothing. They also carry unique goods from local artists. Definitely drop by here and spend some time looking around, trying things on. It pained me to leave empty handed but it is a bit out of my budget. Someday when I'm a little more established financially I'll come back here and buy some clothes! Not everything was my taste, but what is cool when I was there was that there were women of all ages shopping around. I loved that! There were things for each age group to enjoy. Great staff here as well!!

Denice B.

Yelp
I love The Peacock Room! I love the mix of vintage and modern jewelry, clothing and hats. Hats! I am very fond of Victorian style jewelry, and this is the place to go. Beautiful dresses, scarves, hats, and purses. Kind of a small space, but not overly cluttered. Men's items are amazing! Manly Men need to come and see for themselves. The only thing is I'm a plus-sized woman and the clothes are for the thin only. Plenty of other things for the fashionable woman!

Yelp
I really liked this place. I'd like to buy lots of clothes and jewelry here--and that strange and magical fascinator in the window, though I have no idea where I'd wear it--but the prices (which I do believe are reasonable) are not cheap. When I asked whether they ever had sales, the lady said she priced everything as low as possible, and that mostly items didn't last long enough for sales. Detroit must be doing better than we're told, if that's true. Still, I'll go back and bring some money with me. They have a hat selection! The jewelry and accessories are varied and interesting and the space is glamorous--definitely a shop worth supporting.

The Peacock Room is my favorite. It's like shopping in a gallery that has been curated by someone with fun, impeccable and classic taste. Pricing is shockingly reasonable, too. But perhaps the best reason to shop at The Peacock Room is the proprietor. If you haven't experienced the lovely and amazing Rachel, you're missing out! Just go.
