Pear Lake Winter Hut

The best! But you have to know how to use ski skins and ski up hills and do epic hard stuff (be very fit) to get there. Go with folks that are experienced.

Super nice hut with great hut keeper. The last mile is as hard as the first four so be careful during planning. The summer route is not the best if you go skiing in winter. It’s hard to get a spot but worth it!

Let me start by saying that you _MUST BE PREPARED_ for the trip in and out. I have been caught in complete white out conditions, and if you are ill prepared you could literally die out there. With that said, with the right gear and wilderness experience, this is an amazing location to go to.

we did a trans sierra crossing. over shot this hut. hiked back uphill one mile after a massive day. only to find it was locked. major disappointment.

Very difficult snowshoeing trip! But amazing once there!
