11 Best Brunch Places in Toronto | Condé Nast Traveler

"For over three decades, Pearl has served up award-winning dim sum against the backdrop of Lake Ontario, and it continues to attract regulars from every corner of this massive city. Tourists, young professionals, local foodies, and die-hard dim sum critics alike hail Pearl as the place to go—what could be better than food with views?—but they love the lively atmosphere, too. Expect all the classics: fried tofu, steamed fish, BBQ pork bao buns, and rice noodles, all coming to you directly, via cart. It's hard to go wrong here, but if you want to elevate the experience, call ahead to reserve a lakeside table." - Todd Plummer

the soup was very good, light broth but rich flavour. the beef was mostly just skin or fat- no meat on it. the noodles were good as well! the steamed shrimp and pork dumplings were so juicy and really delicious the soup dumplings stole the show! the soup in it was so flavourful! very juicy meat inside the fried taro and scallop were so surprising! the assorted meat inside the bottom was like a curry and was so good! the scallop was soft and cooked perfectly. the fried taro was so crispy and light. might have been the best dish we got! the steamed rice noodles with beef with coriander were amazing! so gelatinous with the tasty fresh coriander. great dish the service was good as well, fast and efficient the staff brought us spicy sauce and soy sauce which was yummy overall amazing place with a great view!!

A great place to appreciate the bay and even better if you're seated by the window at sunset! Good dimsum and wine selections (full bar too!). Fast and friendly staff and you can't go wrong in whatever you order! Truly delicious and a good place for a romantic dinner!

Google
Lovely place right on the lake with gorgeous views. It's one of three such restaurants in Toronto. So clearly popular. The Dim Sum is quite good but can do just as well in Chinatown. The highlight is the Peking Duck which is generous and comes with delicious roast duck. I say go for the view and the duck.

Hands down, some of the best food I’ve had recently! The freshness of the ingredients and the unique flavors in all the dishes right from the appetizers to main course were unforgettable. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts! If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll love this place! The menu has a fantastic selection of dishes, and we loved everything we tried. I only had good comments about the food and service. I can’t wait to come back again!

There are some good vegetarian options here Green beans: this is my go to. Recently, they have changed the recipe for it to less spicy Smoky vegetable rolls: new on the menu. Delicious! It was easy to get reservation for Sunday.

Deeply Disappointed – Poor Quality, Misleading Dishes, and Terrible Execution I recently visited Pearl Harbourfront Chinese Cuisine expecting a high-end Cantonese dining experience, but what we got was truly disappointing – both in terms of food quality and presentation. We ordered the Peking duck, and were shocked to see only 20 small slices served. But even more disappointing was the obvious pre-made nature of the dish: the duck meat was dry, tough, and had a strong reheated and frozen odor, with none of the crispiness or freshness that defines this classic. The duck skin was greasy, soft, and gamey, with an off-putting oily aftertaste. The thin pancakes – traditionally a key part of the experience – had been replaced by generic supermarket wraps (the kind you buy for $2.99), and the julienned cucumber was replaced by thick, awkward chunks. I’m not comparing this to Beijing-style duck or even to the roast ducks you find in Chinatown — I’m simply comparing it to other Cantonese restaurants that also serve Peking duck, and this was clearly not up to any acceptable standard. A dish like this should not even be offered on the menu in its current state. The cumin lamb was similarly disappointing — not only lacking any trace of cumin flavor, but also served with random vegetables like snow peas, which made it feel more like a “mixed vegetable stir-fry with lamb” than anything resembling the dish described. If the kitchen can't do justice to "cumin lamb," then maybe it should rename it to better reflect what is actually being served. Putting a traditional name on a dish that has no relation to it misleads customers and erodes trust in Chinese cuisine. The salt and pepper soft shell crab and salt and pepper pork chops were deep-fried yet somehow both came out soggy and greasy, clearly having been reheated or stir-fried again before serving. Worse still, instead of using fresh chili peppers, the dishes were sprinkled with cheap, pickled red peppers from a jar, which overwhelmed the flavor and added an unpleasant sour note. To top it off, basic hygiene was a serious concern. One of the servers had very long fingernails, clearly visible while placing dishes on the table. It was incredibly off-putting and made us lose our appetite. I invited guests hoping to show them good food, and instead, the meal turned into a major embarrassment. While the view is nice and the atmosphere appears upscale, the actual food and service fall far below what this restaurant is trying to present. For the prices being charged, this level of poor execution, cutting corners, and misleading menu items is completely unacceptable.

This restaurant is not on the ground level, you will have to either take the escelators or elevator to go up one floor. Even before going inside, the entrance sets the tone for an inviting dine in experience. I was seated with my friend by the windows, which had a great view of Toronto's Harbourfront. I looked at their lunch specials, and they are decently prices. The staff and services were swift, and the food was filling, and we were able to have to-go's for our leftovers in nice packaging. I definitely would go back again to try more of the menu!

Google
Great dimsum place by the waterfront. It’s a nice restaurant with big windows for a view of the harbour. Foodwise, I felt there was a lack of selection but it was still good.

Yelp
Good but pricey dim sum with a fantastic view of Lake Ontario Great scenery. Get a table along the window facing the lake if you can. Dim sum was fairly good. The rice wrapped in leaves is one of the best I've had in years. Rare big version with lots of meat. Really a lost version from a past era and it's great they still have this. Har how is large. And delicious. Generally speaking their dim sum portions are big and traditional as well as served very hot. Chicken feet are full sized and not cut in half. Standouts were the rice wrapped with leaves, har gow, chicken feet and rice noodle with bbq pork. Average was the turnip pastry and the soup filled dumplings. Fried taro "woo kok" was curry filled which is different. Not bad but not traditional. Bad was the steamed bean curd rolls.

Yelp
I would go here for the congee alone! My favourite dish was the minced pork with salted egg congee - so umami and such a nice treat on a cold spring day Thick juicy shrimps in their steamed rolls; their fried squid tentacles were too battered and tasted oily If you're lucky enough to get a window seat, your meal will be that much better because of the spectacular view of the lake Decent place but definitely on the bougie end
google avatar

Yelp
Gorgeous waterfront views and delicious food! Decent sized portions and very good service. The only thing that took a little while was getting the check but as soon as we asked for it they immediately brought it.

Yelp
We went here for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Great food and service. I took pictures and tried the lobster, scallops and shrimp, beef and broccoli and duck. My favorite was the duck. It was cooked perfectly. Best Peking duck I have ever had.

Yelp
God since moving to Colorado I had forgotten what good Dim Sum tasted like. Welp thank you Pearl Harbour Front for reminding me how good Peking Duck, Dumplings, Baos, Har gow, Shumai...could taste. Excellent restaurant with great service. If you can get a table with a view.. Place gets busy so keep that in mind. Would most def come back....If you want a cheaper alternative Dim Sum King would fit the bill...but don't expect the same kind of experience

Catherine C.

Yelp
Their Chinese food is below average. Unfortunately there is nothing much to go for except for the view maybe. Quality just isn't there.

Yelp
If you trust the taste from a Cantonese, then this is the worst dim sum restaurant I have ever been Egg tart is not crispy, the Chinese dough rice roll is not crispy on the dough. Sponge cake and Egg York bun is very sticky. The rest shrimp roll, beef congee is okay. Overall, they are very expensive because locate at Harbourfront and they have pretty good views. So it's not valuable and not worthy. There are more choices around there for dimsum.

Yelp
absolutely outstanding!! I loved the siu mai, dumplings (steamed and fried), veggie rolls, & shrimp toast. visited during dim sum hours and got a great seat. will surely be back again one day

Yelp
There are a lot of amazing choices for Dim Sum in Toronto, and the experts will know that the best places are around Markham and Scarborough. But for most people living downtown, that's way too big an effort to drive there, so it's only fair to compare Pearl with what's available downtown. Once again, Dim Sum spots downtown are all concentrated in Chinatown, except for this one. Pearl has decided to place itself on the edge of the pier, with a stunning view facing Lake Ontario, which might give it the title of Dim Sum place with the most beautiful view in Eastern Canada. The food is as yummy as any other place, maybe a bit cleaner. Your mind will not be blown, but you will find what you're looking for. It is a solid choice to have in your brunch arsenal and is most definitely worth the try.

Yelp
My family and I always come here for either lunch or dinner when family gets together. We love how spacious the location is, and how we get the view of the Harbourfront and the lake. We always find opportunities to have Peking duck, even during lunch time / dim sum time. For 1 peking duck, plus the meat all chopped up for us, it can easily feed 4 people. The service is really good, and the food is always delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Great Chinese restaurant with the best panoramic view of the harbor front. You got to have a reservation in order to choose the window table for the best view. The menu is quite extensive to please everyone. This is also excellent place for big family gatherings.

Yelp
First, you come here because it's got a gorgeous view of the lake. We came on a stunning sunny day. Second, the dim sum was on the whole, very good, for the non-vegan dishes. Shu Mai, chive "hockey pucks", tofu skin rolls, green beans, spare ribs were all good. Sesame balls and rice noodle with you tiao also were very good. The somewhat disappointing dishes were for our vegan, vegetable dumplings, vegetable rice noodle, honey mushrooms. We had leftovers of all of those which was telling. Service was typical of dim sum restaurants-meaning never got our tea, and never got our ham sui gok (footballs) that are my second favorite dish after Chive dumplings. Which if I wasn't already so full I would have asked for. But overall, if I lived in Toronto, I would regularly come for the "right" dishes and the view!

Yelp
On the pricier side for dim sum - and not much stood out in terms of food/service. Here you're paying for the view, but we got seated in the middle of the restaurant so there was not really any views from there. Came on a weekend and did not have to wait much, but would have happily waited for a better view. Place was pretty busy at the time in the afternoon, but there were plenty of tables open still. The portions were on the smaller side for the dim sum dishes, especially the egg tarts which seemed to have shrunk in size compared to before. The rice noodle rolls were pretty good, nice and slippery and moist to go well with the soya sauce. The staff brought a dish which we did not order, so definitely some improvement can be made on service. Also would prefer the prices to be shown on the order sheet/menu rather than having to ask. All together, these couple of small dishes totalled over $60, to give an idea of the premium you pay. Thus, without the view there are definitely much better dim sum options in the GTA.

Yelp
Great dim sum spot over looking the water. Service was on point clearing plates as we finished.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
They have a diverse menu although it is quite pricy. I went by myself and the service wasn't very friendly, although they did bring out all my orders in one go. At the end of my brunch, I paid the amount with tip. The only reason why I wouldn't recommend this place is because the server I had demanded that I give a higher tip. You can go to another dimsum place and the food would still have the same quality but more affordable and friendlier service. In short, nice place to visit once, great views of the harbourfront, but wouldn't go again.

Yelp
Came for a private birthday dinner so there were four tables reserved just for us. They gave us a section of the restaurant that was away from the main dining area. Had designated servers for our section and overlooked the harbour even though we couldn't see it since it was dark out. I think the closest parking is underground, outside of Harbourfront centre. But you can imagine how expensive parking was - a whole whopping $30 - YIKES! Now onto the food. We got a pre-planned course dinner for all four tables and was not left disappointed at all. The food kept coming out and every single dish was so delicious. It's a Chinese restaurant, so it's all family style for serving. You're also able to bring your own alcohol, there is just a corkage fee per bottle. Still works out to be cheaper to bring your own alcohol (if it's an expensive one) than to purchase from the restaurant. Servers were attentive and brought out things we needed/ requested quite quickly. The restaurant does close early though (9:30PM), so you'll have to get in your meal earlier as well. We were one of the last ones to leave the restaurant. Overall, a great place for dinner especially if you have a larger party. Heard they also do dim sum here as well - can't wait to try it.

Yelp
Hands down one of my favourite dimsum spot over the decades. It's where I go to have a "good dimsum" vs Chinatown. It's also a great place to have a banquet dinner (I had one of the babies one month celebration here). The quality of the food is excellent, and so is the service! Very friendly and happy staff. The view of the lake is stunning in any season. If you want a table overlooking the lake and don't want to wait too long, go during the week.

Yelp
High quality dim sum in a very nice environment right by the Toronto harbour (as the name suggests). All the dishes were great, especially the siu mai and chang fen (rice noodle rolls with shrimp). The mango pudding was also very good and tasted like real mango and was made into a hello kitty shape. The lychee jelly was tasty and not overly sweet and in the shape of fish. The egg tarts were a bit small but decent. The bbq pork bun was average. The fried tofu stuffed with shrimp was also good but a tad oily. The fried taro looked pretty cool and tasted quite good although I thought the taro would be a bit sweeter. In terms of prices for dim sum, the dishes are grouped into 4 categories, small ($8), medium ($10), large ($11), and special ($13). As you start ordering more dishes, naturally the bill will start to rack up, so the prices might be a bit high, but I think they are worth it for the experience. The first thing to note about the service is that this place does not have the carts for dim sum, and you just order from the menu and they bring the food to you. That being said, the service speed is very fast. The restaurant environment is really nice- clean and open feel with elegant yet traditional decor and above all, a nice location/view right by the harbourfront. The staff were attentive and average friendliness. This is definitely on the more upscale end of dim sum places and that shows in the price. We had to wait ~15 minutes for a table on a weekend for dim sum lunch. Overall, I think if you are visiting Toronto and looking for a premium dim sum experience with a nice view and location by the lake, then this is the place to be. If you are more of a local or looking for a more low-key/affordable option, then I would still recommend coming here at least once but maybe trying some other places later on given the prices.

Yelp
Typical dim sum with a nice harbourfront view Food: Had a variety of dim sum. The fried items (meat dumplings, turnip cake) were lightly fried and crispy, but also milder on flavour. The siu mai and shrimp dumplings were well done, with delicate wrappers and a generous amount of filling. The fish and century egg congee was a nice hearty bowl. Overall, the food is as expected but it was quite pricey and you pay more for the atmosphere. Service: We were seated quite quickly without any reservations, and had a partial view of the harbour. The staff were very friendly and very helpful, as I had forgot to take my umbrella from my seat and they reminded me of it. Someone in our group then also forgot their phone and we called back and managed to pick it up afterwards, so their service was exceptional. Atmosphere: The place was very large and there were windows surrounding the restaurant which provided a nice view (which is definitely reflected in the pricing).

Yelp
It's on the 2nd floor !! It's got an amazing view of lake, and comfortable seating. Overall, Good selections of authentic Cantonese dim sum, excellent quality with good ambiance and service. Dim Sums are ordered from a list instead of push carts. The pro is everything is made to order and served hot, the con is it takes a while for food to come out. Also, we got the desserts first and we had to wait a while for the spareribs, kind of upside down. My suggestion is to leave off the sweets and add them at the middle of the meal. No prices are shown for the individual items only category such as Small, Large, Special, etc. I am posting my bill as a reference. Also, everything we ordered were very good, and highly recommended. - Curry cuddle fish: relatively unique item for dim sum, served with delicious curry sauce - Siu Mai: excellent quality with a shrimp on top - Steamed Duck Egg Yolk bun: amazing dessert! Served hot with egg yolk oozing out like lava! - Fried Todu stuffed with Shrimp: shrimp paste fried with tofu, slightly crunch and hot outside, tofu is hot and sof inside - Steamed spareribs: one of the standard dim sum items, theirs is substantial and tasty with healthy dose of garlic Tip: if you like to sit by the window but not available and nobody else is waiting, it's worthwhile to wait for a few minutes since normally spaces get free up fairly quickly. Restroom: (only went to Men's) was a little dark but it's relatively clean. 4/5 stars. My wife said the ladies side was not as dark. Parking: plenty of underground parking, but no validation(!)

Yelp
Good food, but definitely on the pricier end. We made a reservation beforehand so were able to get seated immediately, but there was already a huge crowd of people when we arrived and left. The seating area with the waterfront view is not too big, and I think that area gets booked earlier so definitely check for that if you want it. We were seated at a table really close to it though, which was really nice! Rather than the carts you order on a menu and they then deliver you the food when its ready. Between the two of us we got five items which was just perfect, if not a little too much. We got the bbq pork rice rolls, ham sui gok, sticky rice, shumai, and beef tripe. All of them tasted pretty authentic, but also with their own unique twist. The shumai had one giant piece of shrimp on top instead of dispersed in between, and the ham sui gok had a hint of five spice flavor. I think my favorite items were the beef trip and sticky rice, both of which had the perfect savory flavor profile. For all the items we paid over $50 which is quite a lot for dimsum in my opinion, but I do think its worth to try specially if you get the waterfront view!

Yelp
Tried this place out for a weekend brunch around 11a and was able to be seated immediately. Service was okay and food typically came quickly but nothing about the dimsum food stands out to me. Items were hit or miss, some pretty good others not so much. For the priciness of this place, would say it is a good place for the experience and view of the waterfront that you get from the second floor over the actual food itself.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place. Heads up you have to go into the indoor mall and then up to the second floor to get to it. Service was good, they were not overly attentive but they got everything out quickly and efficiently. Atmosphere was lovely. I went for brunch and the view was pleasant with an d ship right out the window. Our order BBQ pork pie dumpling: delicious the dumpling was cooked to perfection. Fried spicy bean curd: just get it, it's so tasty. Rice noodle roll with pork: maybe my least favorite but even then so good. Vegetarian spring rolls: perfectly crisp on the outside and fresh on the inside. Almond pudding: first time having this. Interesting layered and slimy but jelly like texture. The fresh fruit really brought it together for me. For brunch I liked how light of a dessert it was. Egg tart: I'm not a huge fan of these normally but I found this one to be really nice, the crust was light and flaky.

Yelp
If you're looking for a spot to impress your friends, family or colleagues....this is the place! An absolutely beautiful view of the harbourfront with big picturesque windows and very presentable dishes. If you're looking for the most delicious dim sum, this isn't it.....BUT, it is the prettiest setting. So that trumps it for a 'once in a while' visit. I went with 8 girlfriends, and we had a lovely time! Definitely order the mango pudding, which is shaped like Hello Kitty, and try the shrimp paste on toast!
google avatar

Winnie H.

Yelp
Going there for company lunch. Love the food and seems like the dim sum and food have improved before Covid. Shrimp dumpling aka har gau and Siu mai aka pork dumpling are much better than before. Most of the dim sum are well done . I always like the cleanliness of this chinese restaurant. With the view facing the lake, it is always like holiday. It has lots of big big big windows facing the lake. I was so engage to eat and this time forgot to take pictures!!!!!!!
google avatar

Bally L.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday morning an hour after opening for dim sum and were seated right away. We ordered the basics of dim sum-- har gow, siu mai, spare ribs, chicken feet, beef rice rolls, shrimp rice rolls, congee, mango pudding, and egg tarts. All of the dishes were really good, especially the beef rice rolls. The rice paper was thin and the soy sauce really hit the spot. The chicken and mushroom congee was so bland; didn't taste like they seasoned it at all. The mango pudding came in the shape of hello kitty! How cute, almost too cute to eat. Price wise was maybe a little on the steeper side for dim sum, but you're also paying for the ambiance and atmosphere. It has a nice view of the harbor and also there was an option to have outdoor seating.
google avatar

Abby G.

Yelp
My first trip to Toronto and I did a little research beforehand. I love dim sum and can't get it where I live. This place was super close to my hotel, but I was having some intestinal issues and wasn't sure I'd be able to handle dim sum. On my last day in town, a colleague and I decided to try it for lunch. It was so incredibly good that I brought another colleague back for dinner that same night. The crystal shrimp dumplings were the best I've ever had. And this wonton noodle soup cured what was ailing me. Cannot recommend enough. Delicious!!!!
google avatar

Andrew L.

Yelp
I grew up on dim sum, I've had it in many different major cities in the world. It is comfort food and extravagant food. So I was definitely excited to try pearl harbourfront which has a beautiful lakeside view. The food is impeccable. Up there with some of the really good dim sum spots uptown, it's definitely the best I've had downtown. Every dish was so well done and authentic. The favourites of today's meal were the sticky rice in lotus leaf, fried turnip cake, shrimp rice rolls and mango pudding! This is the best dim sum experience I've had in the downtown core and I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Ying L.

Yelp
We came in Saturday afternoon at 2:10pm, and the place was half empty, we wanted to get a table with lake view, but the server was not that friendly and gave us an inside one. We ordered 17-18items, and the SP item "stirred fried long green beans" was a No no, avoid it if you can. Other dim sum are just average, the only dim sum that I would give a 5 rating is the sticky rice in lotus leaf. 8 ppl, total spent $240+, I would say if not for the lake view, you can get much better quality dim sum with the same price somewhere else.

Yelp
I had eaten at Pearl many times in the past pre-covid and always enjoyed the food and of course the great view of the Harbourfront. Went back recently and it seemed to be bit less impressive. Prices have gone up as have most places but Lunch dim sum items now $7.50 to $12.50 a piece... which is a hefty premium over pre-covid. Food (3.5/5) - Har Kau - was solid as expected - Siu Mai - same as above - Pan-fried Hockey Pucks - really enjoyed these - probably the best item I tried - Sweet Ginger Chicken - was not keen on this one - sauce mixture not balanced with too much ginger - Beef Fried Rice - ok but on the bland side Service (4/5) - they have always been friendly and attentive and that was the case again. Atmosphere (4/5) - can't beat the view, especially in the summer and it's a well-kept, clean restaurant overall. Overall (3.5-4).

Cynthia W.

Yelp
I came here with a group of 4 on a Friday night, and the restaurant was relatively empty. Most of the window seats had been reserved, but we still had a decent view of the sunset over the lake. Really convenient location by harbourfront, where Chinese food / dim sum restaurants are sparse. We ordered a couple dishes to share. Portions are good, but no item blew me away. A good option if you want some decent Chinese food, but you can definitely find better restaurants uptown.
google avatar

Lily Z.

Yelp
Very pricey, but average dim sum - I took some friends that were visiting the city because of its vicinity to the water. The views from the restaurant were great, but the dimsum wasn't anything special while still having a hefty price tag. I will say the service is great -- there are constantly employees circling around and they are super quick! Unless you are sat near the window where you can see the lake, it is not worth it.
google avatar

Helen T.

Yelp
Amazing view and customer service! The servers were attentive and friendly! The food was mediocre. But it's a great place to bring out of the town guests or to host an occasional get together. If you're about to score a view by the window, the lake view is spectacular. I would recommend calling for reservations on the weekend to reduce the wait time! Also for the month of April 22, they are offering a pecking duck promo for 56$! Their dim sum prices are as follows: s 7:30 m: 9.50 l:10.50. Tea: 1.8/person.

Yelp
Excellent menu with nicely prepared tasty dishes. Upscale room and some tables overlooking the harbour. Fast service. Located in Queens Quay on the second floor.

Yelp
Good selection of dim sum(yum cha) and spectacular view of Lake Ontario. Good tasty and service was attentive and suggestions were helpful.

Yelp
Dim sum with a view! Like others before me have mentioned, you come here for the airy atmosphere & environment, hopefully with a table as close to the windows as possible. Food wise? A bit on the saltier side, but still good. My small party of 2 walked in on a snowy Monday, and even though it was quite hazy outside, I'd never had dim sum right by the water like this. It was a really nice experience. The interior was very clean, elegant and modern. I overheard another customer compliment the staff on the renovations. My favorites had to be the rice noodle rolls with bbq pork and scallop. I'm pretty sure scallop rice noodles are a Toronto thing - you guys always do it so well, and it's pretty common around the city I think? I can never find this in NY! I was also impressed with the whole shrimps on top of the siu mai - those were meaty! The steamed curry cuttle fish was good too, but that and the fried noodles w/ bean sprouts were overly salted. Nonetheless there is nothing quite like this restaurant in NYC. To have decent dim sum at such a nice restaurant with literal harbourfront views is a pretty unique experience. I'd recommend the visit when indoor dining opens back up again... sigh

Yelp
Two of us came in for lunch. Haven't been here for a very long time. Even on this gloomy winter's day, the view is awesome. Always great staff with a very easy Covid-19 process of being checked in and seated Ordered a delicious selection of dim sum and just thoroughly enjoyed a mostly quiet lunch. I really enjoy this spot

Yelp
Ambiance for a Chinese restaurant is very good. Cleanliness is also well above the average Chinese restaurant. The food looks (emphases is on the, LOOK) amazing! What threw me for a loop was the temperature of the food. It felt like I was eating at a steakhouse where they would let the steak rest. For those who aren't aware (hey... chef, you listening?), Chinese food is served, HOT!

Yelp
Authentic dim sum with great views. We enjoyed the great sunny weather by having dim sum at Pearl Harbourfront Chinese restaurant this morning. Prices are a little high but the quality of the dim sum, the attentive service and nice views were worth it since we don't eat at the lakefront often. Everything was high end, clean and enjoyable.

Yelp
Great location right by the water. View feels quite a bit like being on a cruise ship. Love the feel of this place. Table settings to the servers are all just as you'd expect from a nice Dim Sum restaurant. Not trying too hard and not falling short in any area either. Good place to take work people or people that you're introducing to the concept.

Yelp
Came here for a work event but still sampled a lot of items on the menu. Har gow, Siu Mai, Fried Dumplings, Sesame Balls, spring rolls etc. It's most of the mainstream dim sum items. I thought it was just ok. This place is quite well known but I wasn't that impressed. Wouldn't pay full price as dim sum is just expensive nowadays.

Yelp
Really great dim sum, with a view! Get the mango pudding, it usually comes out in a cute little shape.

Yelp
what made it the worst experience is that there was A METAL STAPLE in the congee we ordered! When we asked for it to be taken away there was no sign of remorse from the waiter and no apology from anyone! It also wasn't even taken off our bill and we received nothing as an apology for this. MY FRIEND LITERALLY CHEWED A METAL STAPLE. I came here with friends to celebrate my graduation. The food was sub-mid tier at best. The spare ribs were okay and the eggplant was good but the other dishes we ordered had a lot more that could be done to improved. The beef noodle soup tasted like water and so did the congee. Additionally, there is no soy sauce, vinegar, salt or pepper available at the table and when we did ask for it, it came in small dipping sauce bowls instead of bottles. For the prices here (which, aren't even listed on the menu which is whack), this food was not worth it and I would rather go somewhere else. I get paying for a view, but it wasn't worth it. I usually only write good reviews on google review- yelp isn't really my thing but this is just crazy. I like to support non-chain businesses but I will never be coming here again and I won't recommend it to anyone else. I can't believe this happened.

Yelp
Kinda homesick after arriving Toronto from Shanghai for the first month. Recommended by two friends who said this is real AUTHENTIC. Not too many authentic Cantonese restaurants here in downtown but this one is a must try! Would recommend the following signature dishes: Cha Siu Bao Chicken Feet Steamed Shrimp Dumplings Service's nice - booked a table of three just 12 hours ahead and got a pretty decent seat. Would definitely come back to try other dishes like steamed shrimp rice rolls

Yelp
We were recommended by family to go here for dim sum. It's in a great location right at the harbourfront, and with window side seating. Although we didn't have a reservation and it was quite crowded/during peak hours, my party of 5 was luckily able to be seated right away. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were a few vegetarian items and that they were marked on the menu accordingly. We started off with the fried mushroom, which was served on a bed of crunchy noodles. The flavor and texture were great and we finished off the whole thing quickly. We also got the vegetable rice noodle rolls - I really liked these, but they could have used a bit more of the sweet soy sauce to soak in. We also shared the fried noodle w bean sprouts, shrimp har gau, steamed beef ball, seaweed salad, and soup dumpling. We had also ordered the deep fried squid tentacles, but they forgot to give it to us unfortunately. For dessert we got sesame filled sesame balls which were amazing and mango jelly which was refreshing. It was also quite pricy for dim sum, but I guess you are paying for the view. Overall, nice ambience and yummy food.

Yelp
Have walked by Pearl for almost 3 years, without ever popping in to try. Had a really great meal and the view was amazing Dumplings were delicious, crispy squid was also fantastic. Highlight of the meal was the bok choi dish
