PEARL'S

Today I had their waffle meal. Waffle deflated and doughing. Beacon was over cook crisp to dry too limit. Coffee great. I looking forward for this Waffle meal it good reviews. From my opinion it discussing that was still hungry. I came home my me vegetable scramble eggs, cinnamon bread. Otherwise I had there oatmeal very good I would came again and try there other items on the menu. I probably are good.

What an awesome little place. The food is pretty damn good, the coffee is even better. It's very affordable, the staff are very nice and hardworking. A nice little environment, I like to study there (there are chargers and free wifi!).

Really good coffee! The owners are super nice and friendly. Highly recommend their iced matcha and iced mocha. It tastes home made but absolutely delicious!!

The Salmon dinner is delicious and a perfect match with creamy grits which Pearl will make upon request. They add the right mix of butter milk and butter and love!!! Their boneless chicken is also a favorite of mine as well. They marinade in a pearl based sauce! Fabulous

Their iced white mocha latte is so good and sweet! Better and cheaper than Starbucks in my opinion! Workers are super friendly and lots of indoor and outdoor seating.

Great food and drink options! Very cute family -ran business. I called ahead to see if they had WiFi as my plan was to go there and study. The owner answered "yes please join us!" She was really kind and greeted other patrons when I was there.

Pearls is the neighborhoods go to spot, friendly customer service, Great coffee options and food. They BBQ every Thursday from 6-9 and the vibes during that time is amazing.

lots of options, I was especially impressed by their unique drink options. my friend got an ube latte and it was so good - I'll definitely be trying that one next time. The service was great, staff were all extremely friendly. Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

First time saw it popped up at my IG so we checked it out. Love my croissant egg cheese with avocado with my cold ube drink. Ambiance is relaxing it felt family settings. Service even though first time had a chance to chitchat with the owner and very nice lady. Hopefully to come back and try other stuff in their menus.

I walked in this establishment this morning to get a coffee and pearl didn't have a happy look in her face. She said, I'm not welcomed in there and I asked why, she said your racist right in front of regular customers. How embarrassing , I am Caucasian and I go to and African American church for many years, and my pastor is well known in they Bay area guiding people to truth in love I will not step foot in here again.

Great for a quick bite. Got a bagel sanwhich and it hit the spot. They were friendly and seemed family owned.

WHO HURT YOU PEARL? I've come in to this place a few over the years, convenient for students at the university and the only coffee shop at the top of the hill. Lunch nd BBQ was always nice. Now their customer service has ALWAYS been a lil spotty, it's a family business and sometimes people have bad days. BUT TODAY DAMN. I walked in around 12:45 and Pearl immediately tells me "I'm busy just wait." I say okay and check out the menu and just kinda wait and honestly Pearl seems pissed to have another customer; I think her son stepped in to take my order. He was kind and the exchange was neutral. Then about five minutes pass and instead of saying "hey we got your sandwich ready" or "croissant sandwich" Pearl says "Yeah your sandwich is ready" and gives me the most passive aggressive face, like I had been such a bother to come in while she was "doing something" This was so obvious that another customer looked on with surprise at the interaction as I gathered my stuff and left. It seems a common theme for the staff here to be just kindof bothered by customers. OH AND THE SANDWICH WAS MADE WRONG.

For the amount of the cost for sandwiches you'd think they'd give you more than one tiny piece of lettuce, and two baby looking bacons. They had more mustard than any lettuce tomato or bacon on there. Coffee was not too shabby. Customer service was okay which is why I added an extra star.

Overpriced food... and their Vietnamese coffee tasted just like a regular iced coffee like what were you tryna accomplish

Unfortunately, with the shelter-in place, business has slowed immensely....mostly gone! :( This is a great little place is located in a small strip mall near Cal State East Bay called Pearl's Cafe...definitely a neighborhood gem Please consider TAKE OUT during mornings & all day M-F. They ALSO have great BBQ on Thursday & Friday nights! The go to item is BBQ salmon! Flavorful and melts in your mouth and so reasonably priced!! Get this! This may seem a little out of the way, but make it a trip with a "social-distancing" hike around the Hayward Hills/Cal State Hayward's (it's not Cal State East Bay to me!) Campus and a nice treat after!

Even though I've picked up wonderful drinks and food here at Pearls, it was fun meeting Pearl officially today, and I thought it's about time I write a review. She's such a sweetie. My son-in-love, Caleb Davis, started a group: Keep Hayward Clean & Green Community Clean on the Nextdoor app. He had pick up tools, gloves, bags, etc. ready for us. We met here at Pearl's to begin our little walk up Hayward Blvd., picking up trash along the way. The plan is to do this every 2 weeks and encourage the community to join in. Afterwards, I treated myself and husband to Pearl's Island Freeze Caramel coffee drink and it was great and refreshing. I'll have to try something new each time! I still need to try their BBQ dinners I've heard about.

Came here in the morning around 8am after dropping my kids off at school. Cute little place feels homey definitely get that family owned vibe. There's a lot of regulars I've seen come through, everyone seems upbeat and cheerful. I ended up ordering 2 ham, egg, and cheese croissants. With a sausage egg and cheese bagel, and cereal for my daughter, 2 coffees, one blended mocha and the total came in at $28 without the tip. I will say the food is great, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was nice. Cozy little place in the Hayward hills that I wouldn't mind stopping for coffee since I frequent the area often. This place is a hidden gem I'm happy to have stumbled upon. I look forward to trying their lunch menu as the breakfast I had left me wanting more.

Love this place! Very friendly staff and the sandwiches are so good. My brother and I will drive from Oakland to Hayward just for breakfast here.

Generally I prefer to support family businesses and sometimes that support comes in the form of much needed feedback. This already started off badly when the person that came after me was allowed to jump ahead of me and be taken care of first even though I was waiting for the young guy at the register to finish taking an order over the phone before she even came in. Then it turns out even though I'm spending $24+, this place is passing down merchant service fees for credit card use to the customer which is usually accepted as cost of doing business anywhere else. Admittedly, I'm probably still sour about the person that was allowed to cut ahead of me. Lastly, the croissant sausage sandwich was disappointing. There's no flavor, no spice in that patty at all. With such a simple item gone wrong, I'd be hesitant to try try anything else. The saving grace here was the pumpkin spice I ordered, and I imagine most of the drink options are probably pretty decent, but that customer jumping ahead of me really killed it for me. She even told them that we were ahead of her but they took her first anyway. That tells me they're not interested in new business, just happy with the loyal customers they already have My opinion, if you live up here and you just want a coffee (and you have some cash on you), go here. Otherwise, it's just a few more minutes down the hill to Starbucks or Peet's or go down to Edna's off Tennyson for their croissant sandwich if you have some extra time

So today was the first time ever going to Pearl's. I specifically went there, as opposed to Starbucks or Peet's, because I wanted to support a local business. I can't tell you about their drinks or food because I never even ordered. My interaction with the cashier was the worst. I asked him to tell me the difference between the Pearl's Green Tea Latte and the Matcha Green Tea latte and he acted like I was an idiot for asking. Please note that I drink green tea and matcha lattes frequently.His first response was that there were different. I asked how. He said one is green tea and the other is matcha. So I am familiar with the drink. The conversation just went down hill until finally he said he did not the know difference because he had not tried either. The conversation was so unwelcoming. I didn't bother to order anything. I left and went to Peet's (love the mobile ordering). Customer service is important. I see the other reviews about the good service there. Maybe I hit a bad day. Probably won't find out as I am not likely to waste my time to go there again.

Pearl's is my go to place when time allows me To stop and enjoy a coffee and yummy bagel in the mornings with my kids. Not only is the service amazing but pearl has a way of making you feel like family. My kids truly love going to pearls. Her evening BBQ is so delicious too! Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Her prices are extremely fair as well.

Pearl's is a small cafe at the left end of the mall. walls filled with signs, artifacts, placards, flatscreens... small dining area. 10ish tables. offerings: bagels. croissants, bagel/crossant sandwiches, coffee, smoothies, salads, bbq menu brew: french coffee (L. 2) -rich, bold, full flavored brew -self pour. leftovers: -interesting dining options, too small to fulfull my appetitt good for snacking. -friendly, courteous service

Hayward, especially at the bottom of the hill where I now live, is a desert when it comes to places to eat, even grocery stores. I was happy to find great reviews to this place so I went there for a late lunch and had a hot roast beef sandwich on a bagel which was delicious. Unfortunately the service was underwhelming. The person on the counter hardly looked at me when I walked in and greeted, and when I left, after paying a 20% tip, didn't bother to turn around to say goodbye. Normally I wouldn't bother writing a review like this but I imagine that the owners probably train people better than that, and don't know that the customer experience is so disappointing.

DO NOT GO HERE! I got a Lox Bagel and there was hair in my bagel. The owner, Pearl, was not hostile and had horrible customer service. I do not recommend, please go get your breakfast somewhere else.

Pearl's is one word......AMAZING!!!!!!! From the jalapeño bagel to the salmon, chicken, and lumpia......WOW!! Never disappointed!!!

Came in for dinner, which is only available on thurs and friday. Ordered the hot link dinner plate. I must say, it was amazing. The link had a crispy snap to each bit. It had good heat to it too. Very juicy. I also had an order of tri tip on the side. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly med rare. Extremely tender. Besides the good food, the staff were friendly and owner, Pearl, was so nice. Will definitely be coming back here. Ive heard they are known for their breakfast/lunch menus.

Love this place its in the neighborhood great cappucino (ditch the bigbox stores) and pastries and such wonderful customer service, Pearl and her family are so nice and welcoming oh and if you are lucky enough to catch them bbqing get tri tip or salmon amazing!!!!! Finally stopped by this cafe after I saw a coworker enjoying a lox bagel from here. I must say, the vibe in there is very welcoming--the owner is so nice and friendly, and was happy to switch out my capers for different veggies no extra charge. I got a lox bagel and an iced latte, both were really yummy! I will def be back!

Pearl is sweet and the food good. I had a breakfast burrito and a cup of hazelnut coffee. I wish it weren't so far up the hill but hey, have car, will travel. :)

Decided to try this place out after a quick "brunch" search in the area. It's close-by to CSUEB in the plaza with Bronco Billies and Rita's. You might miss it but it's tucked all the way at the end. Food is ok - I think you can make the sandwiches at home to be honest. Drinks were not as good but hey, you can't love every place you go to. However, Pearl and her staff were so sweet! so big thank you to you guys.

I love this place. If you're ever in the neighborhood (they are located above the college on the right as you're going up the hill), then stop in. In the evenings they bar-b-q outside and make a mean salmon! Daily they serve different coffees and breakfasts. It's a family business with mama Pearl and her kids. VERY good people and a great atmosphere. Pearl's is an interesting place. With sports memorabilia on the walls and a sports game on the TV, it's a perfect combination of a sports restaurant and coffee house. They've even got a BOOKSHELF for those of us who like to sit and read with our coffee! Really it's just a great place. The food is good, the vibe is good, the people are good and my review is good. Check this place out!

Recommended by my daughter who lives not too far from this small café. We went in for coffee first thing in the morning. They had a great selection of breakfast foods, from croissant breakfast sandwiches and bagels to on-the-go pastries, muffins and donuts. Great service and the coffee and croissant breakfast sandwich were very good. It was made-to-order, which I loved. They offer dinner on Thursdays and Fridays from 6-9pm. We went on a Thursday evening and again, our food was made to order. I ordered a grilled gourmet cheeseburger and a side of bbq pork-on-a-stick.. my dinner was about $13. They were accommodating to even grill my onions when I requested it! It's a bit hidden as Pearl's sits on the side of the small plaza. They do have a street sign promoting their coffee so you can't miss it. From speaking to Pearl, it's definitely a family-owned business and you can tell they treat their customers as if they are family.

The lyrics from the "Cheers" theme song, "sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came.." captures the very reason why Pearl's is a family favorite for us. I'm in awe of the wonderful people I have been fortunate to meet and now call friends as a result of the time that my family has spent at Pearl's. What a wonderful way to start my day ..at Pearl's with a ginger and turmeric tea. My family frequently orders dinner from on Thursdays and Fridays. My go to is either the Naylan Chicken Salad or the Chicken Burger. My hubby and sons love the Salmon. Pearl and her family/staff are thoughtful and beautiful people. Please come experience Pearl's for yourself.

Very happy that Pearl's is in my neighborhood. It's a great spot to get coffee/breakfast items, the lunch sandwiches are solid, and their dinners are my favorite. They were not open consistently for dinner under their old name (Cafe Caribe), but now the hours seem to have stabilized. If you haven't checked it out in a while, come back. They're always open on Thursday and Friday nights for dinner. I've also seen them open on Saturday/Sunday nights for sports games, but I don't think they're open every weekend. Lots of folks from the neighborhood come by to watch and eat together. On the dinner menu is chicken, tri-tip and salmon. Each meat comes with your choice of rice/potatoes, salad and a King's Hawaiian roll. They also have salads instead of the meal combo. I usually get the Naylan's salad with cranberries, pecans and goat cheese. I've tried all the meats, my favorite is the chicken, but they're all yummy. They use tasty, flavorful marinades on the meat. They give pretty big portions and it's a good value. It's perfect for when we don't want to cook (which is like, always)! Give Pearl's a try if you're in the neighborhood :)

Open Mon-Sun mornings They have awesome BBQ Tues-Fri and even Dinner Thursday & Friday night with amazing Tri-Tip, Salmon, Steaks, Burgers. During the day it's great for a refreshing drink and Sandwich or salad. It's family owned Be patient when one person is doing everything. It's made with love and worth it.

Friendly service and decent coffee. Upgrading my review from 2 to 3 stars because this place is right about average and not below. Good enough to pick up the occasional cup of coffee and I'm personally a fan of any coffee place that isn't a chain like Starbucks.
