"This quiet stretch of beachfront is popular with locals and savvy visitors who are impressed with its tranquil waters unassuming beauty and terrific location minutes from Bridgetown in Aquatania Gap. Enjoy a cutter sandwich from Cuz’ fish shack, a Barbados institution adjacent to the beach."

One of the most beautiful beaches we visited during our trip. The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming and safe for little ones. We came early in the morning and were lucky enough to see racehorses in the sea, which was just magical. Clean sand, great local vibes and food trucks nearby serving delicious bites. A must-visit spot in Barbados, we came back more than once!

Nice beach close to the city centre of Bridgetown. There’s a pretty nice parking lot close to the beach. The parking is free but I would recommend going early as it can get full pretty fast. Close to the parking lot is a changing place. The beach is very long so it doesn’t feel as crowded if you get there in the afternoon.

Nice scenic beach with lovely sand. Seeing the horses go for their early morning swim (5.30am) was a lovely way to start off the day. Shame the Radisson hotel is a tad downtrodden and shabby putting a blight on the landscape. Cuzz's Fish Cutter was a delight on the palette for a refreshing lunch. Cheap and cheerful.

Fun beach with waves big enough for surfing/boogie boarding down at the Hilton end. Chairs and umbrellas for rent. Clean bathrooms/changing rooms and plenty of food and drink options.

Beautiful beach and lots of water activities offered. Food and restrooms all on this spot. It’s easy to get there from cruise port and have a fantastic day.

Nice beach at the quieter end of Carlisle Bay. The only place to see the racehorses take a dip in the early morning sea. Get there for about 6am. You can even pay to have a ride on the horses 🐎

We went here for a day trip from the cruiser… I would like to know why Carlisle Bay (this beach is a part of it) has high reviews?! It is great if you just want to enjoy under the sun and not swim at all… but if you are into swimming, or even more - snorkelling, this is NOT a place to be. Well, unless you want to spend some 40 usd or more just so that the boat can transfer you to a place where you could literally swim to, if there were not these boats… and that’s exactly why we highly disliked this beach! It is full of boats and jet skis, which are dangerous, driving fast, and can hurt you while in the sea. There is only a very small area surrounded by rope where you could stay without fear (so small that you can still walk in while that area and you only have like 10-15 meters to swim). If you want to snorkel for free, you could risk it and go deeper - but be aware that boats are constantly moving around and they might not see you (if you decide to do it, make sure you attach a bright floating ballon on you, maybe that will help). We risked a bit, and we saw a few big fish, named something on T (tarpon?), and some smaller ones… we heard that people see sometimes turtles too. If you don’t want to risk, then you can take a boat for about 40 usd (they are selling it on the beach) and it will drop you to the place with turtles and shipwrecks. I don’t recommend it because like that we are supporting taking money out of tourists for something they could do on their own but now they can not because of the amount of boats. Sunbed is about 10 usd, umbrella is about 5 usd. While we were swimming, our skin got irritated by something (some people said it is because of the boat fuel) and we got red itchy dots. In general, this beach could be great if everything is not done in order to get money from the tourists.
