It was one of the very few restaurant options on a Sunday evening after their yearly Buffalo Bill Days celebrations. Loved the décor, the welcoming crew, the menu, and the delicious food. We ordered the Mango Shrimp Rice Bowl and the Spicy Pimento Burger. Both were quite good - compliments to the chef! I would definitely have the rice bowl again. We had to wait a while (40 minutes) from order time but they were quite busy in the kitchen due to an influx of diners before the café closed at 7:30 pm. Highly recommended!

So a buddy and I decided we were going to bike 100 miles using the path from Fountain MN to Houston MN. The first day we biked from Lanesboro to Fountain and back (22 miles). Saturday we biked from Lanesboro to Houston and back (65 miles). Sunday we biked toward Fountain then took a branch path south for 14 miles round trip. 101 miles all together. Some things you should know. It is downhill all the way from Fountain to Houston. We didn't know that. The grade biking west is not steep, but it is uphill. Food at Pedal Pushers Cafe was excellent! I would go there again in a heartbeat. Way above average for a small, rural town. We also went to breakfast at a cafe just a half block NE of Pedal Pushers, which I also recommend. The bike path is good from Fountain to about 15 miles to Houston. After a point the bike path has scattered roots that make the ride bumpy, but it's not terrible. The South branch bike path was also bumpy but rideable. Absolutely gorgeous terrain.

The lavender mint lemonade was a delightful treat—so refreshing! Both the Brussels sprouts and the fish tacos were excellent. I’ll be stopping by again whenever I’m in the area.

On vacation, came in late in the afternoon after going tubing with my two kids(8 & 9). Love the casual quick service environment, staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids were happy with their chicken fingers, but my Salmon bowl and side of brussel sprouts was to die for! So good and healthy as well. Was very impressed.

Google
We love this place. The service is a little different as you order at the counter or by phone and your food is brought to you. Also, water is self serve and you bus your own table. But I've got to tell you this little change in service seems to provide the opportunity to serve great food at a very reasonable price. It's kid friendly, don't hesitate to rip a piece of brown craft paper off the roll and crayons. This atmosphere is warm bright and welcoming. The food is so tasty and very fresh!

We got married over the weekend and met up with some family the next day, Sunday, at this cafe. The cafe is so so cute. We loved the verses on the wall and that they give free Bibles to anyone who needs one. The menu offered such a vast variety of different cuisines that I had not tried before. I chose the Blackened Chicken Grain Bowl and it was one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. There was so much flavor and texture. It was fantastic! My dad got the Chicken Pot Pie and it was also incredible. My new husband ordered a burger and the Truffle Parmesan Fries. Both, again, were juicy, crispy and so full of flavor. The portions were very generous for the very fair prices. We will definitely be back just to eat here again.

Google
Fantastic food! I had the brussel sprouts which were perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. The flavor was great. The salmon bowl was a nice serving size and delicious. The purple sauce that came with the salmon bowl was so good! I'd love to know what the flavorful ingredients were but forgot to ask! The Cry Baby Craig's habenero garlic sauce was available on the table - nice touch - and I added it to the cole slaw, which was very good. I would eat here regularly if I lived in Lanesboro! Cute place. Nice to sit outside to eat and I loved using the QR code to place my food order. I was really glad the staff told me about using that option to place my order. Great job Pedal Pushers!

A friend of mine lives in the area and wanted to check out this eatery. We were not expecting the exotic menu but so GLAD we popped in to try a bite! I had the Mango Shrimp with Brussel Sprouts and ... WOW. Just wow! The service was wonderful as we had a great conversation with the lady servicing the lobby. Thank you for the precious gift of nutritious food - we were able to finish our craft day energized and not sluggish! Great spot to check out.

Yelp
Good food and service. Friendly staff. They seemed to be short staffed but still handled orders quickly and efficiently.

Yelp
Rural town ambiance in a historic building made for a relaxing Sunday. I love ordering and paying online. The wait staff checked on us a number of times to check on us and to refill our water. Our food was delivered quickly. Fish tacos are a favorite of mine and these hit the spot. The french fries are exceptional. The burger and slaw were enjoyed by my Midwestern guy.

Emma B.

Yelp
Food was very delicious and felt quite fresh. It was kind of busy when we were there but service was good. Vintage rustic decor was cool. Grateful for atleast a some vegetarian/vegan options on the menu.

Mike T.

Yelp
Second visit to list place and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We had the salmon and blackened chicken bowls. The salmon was prepared perfectly as was the chicken. The sauces and flavors fabulous. The food seems real and nutritious. You feel so good after eating here. Service was great. We came just after the lunch rush. Sat outside. Ordered our food using the QR code. Food came pretty quick. Staff were all pleasant and friendly. Not over-hyped. Love this place.

Rick M.

Yelp
The food was not great, fries were not cooked well, chicken strips were rubbery and more like chicken nuggets. McDonald's would be a better choice. Very disappointed, there was a time when this place was decent.

Greg A.

Yelp
Very much enjoyed our lunch - we had the salmon and blackened chicken bowls. Very tasty and good service... Enjoyed exploring Lanesboro before seeing a show at the Commonweal. We will definitely be back.

Al K.

Yelp
Place was pretty baller. Or should I say "biker?" No? Not as cool as "baller?" Alright, whatever. Place was really good though. We got the fries and Brussels sprouts. Big fan! Would definitely recommend for a stop after some biking.

Kenny N.

Yelp
Really overhyped especially given the largely positive reviews of this restaurant. We came in right before lunch time to beat the rush but ultimately waited almost an hour for our food. There was an option to order directly off our phones via QR scanner (option introduced during COVID-19) which we regret given it felt like that made things slower rather than directly ordering from a waiter. We also did not receive any waters too despite requesting for it. Food is overall average for American dining, but service is definitely a big part for the 2.5-3 star rating Ordered - Buffalo Burger (3/5). This tasted like any other burger and not like Buffalo. It was a little small and didn't make any lasting impression - Battered Fish & Fries (3/5). This was meh. Maybe one level above Long John's Silver fast-food Overall we had too high of expectations and should have tried one of the local sandwich shops during our visit in Lanesboro.

Paul P.

Yelp
A unique dining experience to go with the bike riding experience on the Root River Trail.

Joshua C.

Yelp
Our family had mostly Fish & Chips and one of us had pork barbecue and our food was of fast food quality for cafe prices. Ambience is excellent. Nevertheless, the quality and preparation of food leaves a lot to be desired.

Lou B.

Yelp
As the pic says great here today!!! Service and food wonderful even though super busy.

Molly G.

Yelp
This is a wonderful farm to table restaurant in a cute town! I love the fish tacos and the root beer!

Stephan S.

Yelp
This place was so yum!!! OMG!! I'm so glad we stopped! We sat outside. Service was easy and friendly. We brought our dog and they brought out water for him. The food was so good. My son said it was the best tender and fries he's ever had. And the strawberry salad and truffle fries... so dang yum!! You better believe I won't stop in the area without stopping here. So good!!!!!

Bruce G.

Yelp
Very good food. Interesting beverages. Fish and chips were as hot and crisp as they could possibly have been. The people were extraordinarily friendly and sweet. Could not have done better in Lanesboro.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Great restaurant with easy to go food. We really enjoyed the fish tacos and they had lovely brussel sprouts

Molly M.

Yelp
Just down the road from the Root River Trail, the biking love continues! Just look for the biking mosaics on the side of the building. Outdoor sidewalk tables, street parking for non-bikers, relaxing spot for everyone-from burger lovers to vegans. We opted to share the Korean style pork bowl (different kind of kimchi than I'm used to) and the Brussels sprouts.

Liz T.

Yelp
We ordered mango shrimp bowl, apple cranberry salad and a pasta bowl. All meals were fantastic!

Julie L.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service. Busy, which is always a good sign. You can't miss eating at this place!

Margaret B.

Yelp
They seat you and give you menu's. Then you have to go up to the counter to place your order. The only problem was.. you have to tip before you eat? I have a problem with that. I want to try my food first. I tip on service and quality of the food. We ordered the Bacon Ranch Burger with fries. It was wonderful. It was juicy and very flavorful. Fries were hot! All in all we enjoyed our food! Nice place to go,for a fast meal.

Kaimoon H.

Yelp
Awesome food. Some vegan options. Ate two days in a row after biking the trails hard. Just go.

Alik W.

Yelp
We tried an array of their burgers. They are basic burgers and fries, nothing to write home about, although the bison burger with Minnesota raised bison was the clear winner. This place gets MOBBED on Saturday, so plan for a wait for a table, or do take out which is surprisingly fast even when they're busy. Definitely a good option after enjoying the many Root River outdoor delights.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Very disappointed to ride bike all the way (31.5 miles) anticipating lunch, per your own website hours, to find it closed. Lucky the HighCourt Pub seems to be open every day and has limited menu but good food.

Traci C.

Yelp
We had a great meal last night. Food was tasty, service was fast and friendly. The young people working were very polite and helpful. It is such a great option for dining out.

Carissa E.

Yelp
This place is awesome!!! I've been coming to laney for years and can't believe I had not stopped in before this. It's farm to table so that is just exciting in itself. We ordered a cauliflower pizza and I swear that is the best pizza it was crispy crust and just all around goodness! I wish I lived closer I'd order it every week if I could haha. The kids got tenders which they loved and they had real soda, root beer and jaritos (you know the good stuff) - also love that they have paper table cloth for drawing haha one of my favorite things. We'll be back!

Matt L.

Yelp
Not a bad place to eat I just didn't find it that great. Very good milkshakes but everything else was so so. I had the burger and it was more bun than burger. Fries were good but for the price I paid for 2 ($40 for 2) I just thought it would be something more. O well not much to choose from on a Wednesday when you bike into the town.

Tini E.

Yelp
Decent burgers, tacos, and fries. Order and pay at counter - we reluctantly tipped when we paid and regretted it because there was zero service. Food was good, but not great. Portions weren't small but not big enough if you're hungry. I'd give this place a higher rating if the food and prices made sense, but the prices are very high for what you get and no service. Touristy place to eat in a great town. I'd go somewhere else next time.

Trina V.

Yelp
Such a cute cafe in Lanesboro. There's fun, whimsical decor on the walls and paper on the tables with crayons for you to use to draw on. Food is also yummy. I got the chicken pot pie which was very comforting and it hit the spot. BLT chicken salad looked okay; nothing special. Desserts were great, and came with vanilla ice cream. They had a nice drinks menu with beers, wines, and specialty sodas that I have to try next time i stop by. Overall, I would revisit this spot if I were to come to Lanesboro. Would def recommend.

Steve M.

Yelp
Best place to grab a quick bite. The Brussels sprouts and grain bowl are fantastic. The other menu items are fresh and delicious.

Mary S.

Yelp
Such a great spot for lunch or dinner. We were visiting from out of town and popped in to Pedal Pushers for dinner. It was very busy, but we were seated quickly. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable - not pretentious. The service was fantastic. They offer 3 or so $5 glasses of wine and a few craft beer options. The menu is eclectic with something for everyone. I ordered the Swedish meatballs. I am sorry to say the only time I've had the Swedish Meatball was while eating at an IKEA. I am super happy to say that is no longer the case. They were really tasty! We also ordered the Korean Beef and local kimchi dish. Also really great! They had some decent looking gluten free options if you are into that/allergic. Overall this place is the bees knees and I recommend if you are looking for some comfort food with some flash thrown in.

Karen V.

Yelp
Perfect spot for lunch after our biking excursion. Ordered online at our table and wait staff brought food out. It was delicious! The inside was super cute but being a beautiful day, we enjoyed the outside seating.

Mike S.

Yelp
We were very happy with our choices in eating here. It was a quaint place to spend our evening meal. The prices were very reasonable. We ordered the Mango shrimp and the Gorgonzola steak. Both were excellent! The staff were very friendly too! A definite return to try other items.

Michael H.

Yelp
All of our food was unique and delicious. The favorite was the Mango Chicken Rice Bowl with fried asparagus- so yummy! Four of us each had something different and so good. An excellent choice for lunch to make your Lanesboro experience memorable.

Cindy D.

Yelp
We had a great lunch at the Pedal Pusher very much. We sat outside and ordered from our phone. My husband enjoyed a bacon, cheddar, ranch burger with fries while I enjoyed a chicken pot pie. My husband said the burger was very good with the bacon being nice and crispy. The fries were delicious. The crust on my chicken pot pie was perfectly flaky crust and had loads of chicken and vegetables. We tried the draft root beer on tap which tasted like old time root beer. We would certainly return if in the area.

Sal K.

Yelp
The Brussels sprouts and vegan sausage and zoodles were fantastic. This is about the extent of their vegan options, but these are so good, you won't be left wanting more.

Angee M.

Yelp
This was a really nice lil restaurant. The Apple Walnut Salad was yummy and my hubby's Beef Nachos actually filled him up! The service was excellent!

Tom J.

Yelp
Good food, ideal location on bike trail. Vhhhggggddffuujjjjgggggjjjjjiiiiiooookccvvn

Sandy N.

Yelp
Nice local cafe. Walk up to the counter service. Excellent rice bowls; included the most delicious Brussel sprouts I've ever eaten.

Rose T.

Yelp
My husband and I ate lunch here and were both disappointed. His chicken pot pie had really thick, kind of lumpy, gravy and canned vegetables. Very little chicken. My shrimp and Brussels sprouts meal had breaded shrimp, tired sprouts and a purchased dressing. We had heard that the restaurant sources local items but didn't experience that in either of our meals.

Martee G.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I had the mango shrimp bowl. Highly recommend. Also had balacken chicken bowl and the pot pie. Loved all! Good atmosphere. Prices were reasonable. Definitely visit again.

Sheryl O.

Yelp
Excellent lunch and wonderful service. Hubby had the Korean Beef-outstanding. I had the cauliflower crust pizza. Outstanding as well. Such fresh ingredients and flavorful recipes.

Jason W.

Yelp
Went here for lunch with my family and it was very good--wholesome food and everything is homemade. I had the Norwegian Meatballs because...well, where else are you going to find Norwegian Meatballs on a lunch menu? Atmosphere was laid back, very clean and good service.

Debbie F.

Yelp
When riding the Root River Trail, I have frequented this lovely little cafe several times. I love their committment to serving local food. What a refreshing concept!!! I am so weary of restaurants that open a plastic bag of premade soup from a warehouse, microwave it, and call it homemade. The decor is fun and kicky. Be certain to stop in when you are in the area. It is a nice break from your bike ride in a picturesque little town.

Pick G.

Yelp
This place has amazing food. We ate there two nights in an row because we liked it so much. The first night I had fish tacos, which were better then any I've had in the past. The second night I had the blackened chicken grain bowl which was even better, in fact it was absolutely fabulous. Don't hesitate on eating at this place. The food is delicious and healthy. The prices are in line with the quality. You'll be glad you did.

Amy O.

Yelp
Went here during a long weekend back in October 2019. This place has great food! We got the roasted brussels sprouts, they were amazing. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and the grain bowl. The sauce on the bowl had a kick - but it was delicious! The staff was friendly and the atmosphere is very cute. Just wish they stayed open past 7:30 PM! Not a lot of night choices for us out-of-towners. But good!

J H.

Yelp
Definitely glad I stopped. Puppy and I shared cheese curds and I had the Blackened Chicken Grain Bowl. Both were great. The curds lightly battered and fried and the grain bowl had the right amount of heat to make it very interesting with the corn and black bean salsa. I'll definitely be back next time.

Dee J.

Yelp
We were visiting this charming town and decided this looked great for dinner. It was. My husband had liver and onions, and Brooke, our server warned us they didn't serve it often. He ordered anyway; and loved it. It also had carrots and mashed Potatoes and a role. It was all good. I had the blackened chicken grain bowl and it was very flavorful. The person who decorated this place has an eye for cute, and creative use of things. They also had a great selection of music. Oh; and homemade root beer. We didn't have any but it appears quite popular. We were sorry we were too full for dessert.

Michael B.

Yelp
Great spot on a summer day. Easy walk up window with outdoor tables. Fast service, good falafel sandwich. Reasonable prices. Servers cleaned, masked, good protocols.

Jon R.

Yelp
The Good: Big servings for the price The Bad: Service was rushed Food was over salted, but bland otherwise (not much spice) Got sick So the bad obviously outweighs the good. Not really impressed, especially considering I got sick afterwards. The fries were limp and not fried crispy which was super disappointing. I just can't recommend it.

Nick F.

Yelp
Came to Lanesboro and ate here back to back nights. Norwegian Meatballs were so so. The cauliflower pizza however, was amazing! Very friendly wait staff as well. Will definitely come back next time we're in town.
