Pedder Wilderness Lodge

we stayed here for a night recently. Its a long drive out to the end of the road, and then back. The dam and various sights were really worthwhile. But we needed somewhere to stay. The lodge surprised and exceeded our expectations. Tourists are generally seen as prey (me thinks, sometimes), but over our 2 weeks in Tassie, this was one of the better value offerings. Great location. Reasonable prices. Good restaurant. Good service.

My son (almost 13) had a mid school holidays staycation at the PWL and could not fault it! We booked a Pedder Room as this seemed to be the only room type with 2 beds. I thought we had booked a room with a view of the lake, which was a little disappointing but my fault entirely. The room its self while obviously older, has been renovated. It was warm and imbecilically clean! Phone service (Telstra) is fine at the lodge at the Wi-Fi is acceptable, noting this is about as remote as you can get in Tassie. The bar/lounge/restaurant area is lovely with stunning views over the lake. We ate in restaurant both nights (not a lot of other options) and the food was excellent, along with the service. I will provide a separate review on the restaurant. The fitness centre is always a hit, especially with a pool heated to 31 C, while it is only 3 C outside! We also enjoyed some ball games next door and the gym looks pretty shmick! Just remember it does rain a LOT there - hence the two big dams there! Overall a great stay!

We had an amazing time in a great place! The views and Landscape around the place we're absolutely stunning, the food was great and the staff was really nice and helpful! The rooms we're also really nice. I would recommend the trip here to everyone!

We stayed here on our way to Gordon Dam and absolutely loved it! The staff were incredible — super kind and welcoming, and special thanks to the manager for being so helpful and friendly to us! We won’t forget you🫶🏻 The restaurant is also amazing, with a cozy fireplace and great food — the perfect spot to relax after a long day. And the view over the lake is just stunning!

We had our wedding at Pedder Wilderness Lodge in June this year and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Sarah and her team were absolutely incredible—so accommodating and easy to work with. As we were planning from interstate, their flexibility and local knowledge made a huge difference. They gave us practical advice around travel times, what to expect for the season, and how to keep our guests safe and comfortable in the area. The day itself was amazing. The venue is stunning, the meals were fantastic, and all of our guests had such a great time. Everyone commented on how beautiful the location was and how much they enjoyed their meals. We’re so thankful to Sarah and the team for helping make our wedding day everything we dreamed of—and more!

What a fantastic find while driving around the river systems. We were greeted warmly, shown a menu, great coffee and beautiful view. The young guy serving us gave us some background on the lodge which was interesting. Our meal was excellent by any standard. Can imagine staying there and enjoying those big leather couches with the fire going in the evenings. We would highly recommend factoring a stop off here for a meal whilst taking in the beautiful scenery.

Had a great midweek 2 night stay with Mr 12 year old. Rooms are well renovated, warm and clean. Fitness centre, in particular the pool was a big hit. Restaurant was awesome.

My 3rd visit. I just love the relaxed feel of this lodge in the wilderness. The newly renovated rooms are fantastic. The bathroom is huge! Love kicking back on a comfy lounge by the fire. I had a delicious meal, top notch. And the staff are so warm and friendly.
