2025 Must-See Gingerbread Displays Across America

"Quaint at any time of year, this boutique outdoor shopping center in Lahaska, Pennsylvania, with over 65 vendors, dials up the picturesque during the holidays with an enchanting light display and an annual gingerbread competition that dates back to 1984—another (mostly) “amateur” contest whose constructions are nonetheless aspirational. With over 125 entries this year, you can gaze upon traditional gingerbread houses alongside structures submitted in the “incredibly unusual, 3-dimensional gingerbread creation” and “nostalgic lights and silent nights” categories for especially imaginative approaches to the medium." - Pamela Vachon

Snow on the ground, blue sky overhead, Christmas tree still holding the line like a seasonal overachiever — and somehow, the shops and restaurants are OPEN. On January 1. Respect. It looks like a postcard that accidentally became real life. You expect everything to be closed and someone to charge you $18 for hot chocolate “for the vibes,” but nope, prices are reasonable, food is solid, and no one is trying to upsell you nostalgia. Strolling around feels peaceful, not tourist-trappy. Cozy but not fake-cozy. Festive but not exhausting. It’s the rare place where you can eat, shop, walk, and breathe without feeling financially or emotionally attacked. If this is how the year starts, I’ll take it. Would welcome the New Year here again.

Our visit was during the Christmas season. Pros... Beautiful display of lights. Must see!!! Many options to support locally owned shops. Cons... Extreme crowds. Parking was a problem. Restaurants had a 3 1/2 wait. Tips. Arrive early. (Lunch time) When it gets dark and the lights are lit you won't be able to find parking. If you want to eat dinner, book 3 1/2 hours in advance. Overall a good experience however because of the cons I don't expect to return. I do suggest visiting at least once during the Christmas season

This is a very relaxing outdoor shopping center with lots of trees and shrubs throughout. They decorate nice for the holidays. There are a lot of unique stores, not chain stores. Also, lots of restaurants and food options. Check their schedule online. They offer holiday music on some days/ nights. There is a large parking lot with porta pottys right across the street as well as bathrooms throughout the village.

Dozens of shops with unique products not to be found anywhere else. Restaurants and small pubs are very good but a bit pricey. The atmosphere is spectacular especially at Christmas time. Visiting during the week is much less crowded and chaotic. Parking lot is free and quite large but can fill up fast depending on day of the week and time of day. Access roads become easily congested while getting in and out can be chaotic at times.

I came late Nov. Definitely a tourist trip but worth visiting to see the lights. Such a cute town. Shops became very busy as the day went on. Lights turned on during sun down. The gingerbread walk was cute. Go early to avoid long lines. Budget for food, snacks, and drinks. Tried getting cider donuts around 5 pm but the store ran out at that point. You should stop by Clusters Handcrafted Popcorn. Came around noon, after having breakfast in Lambertville, and found plenty of parking. If you didn't book dinner reservations, stop by New Hope or Lambertville.

First time here and it's beautiful during Christmas time. Highly recommmend making reservations a few hours in advanced to eat at any of the restaurants in the village. Just about all of the restaurants had about a 2 hour wait. It does get very crowded.

Beautifully maintained shopping village with so much activity. Every restaurant offers delicious food. There's a distillary, winery, brewery and coffee shop. Shops are fun with many offering very affordable items during the holidays. Every festival has been a fun time. I love Christmas the best as the lights are magical. Tips: Walkways are brick and can be quite hilly and difficult for some. If you bring kids, the stores and eateries are small and may not accommodate strollers.

Pretty place to walk around, plenty of parking just a short walk from peddler’s village, portable bathrooms in the parking lot, lots of restaurants, will need to make reservations ahead of time, call ahead and find out business hours and will need a reservation, in the month of December , there will be times of people, expect lines for every location. Gets really cold so dress warm.
